The squeaky ones are usually the freshest, most flavorful ones.

I am having trouble finding a post by @NotmebutHim where he mentions
soaking a pot after cooking pasta in it, even boiling water in the pot after
removing and draining the pasta to loosen the bits that stuck to the bottom
during cooking. I thought it might be in this thread being that it is about
dishes (and fishes too of course), but no such luck! Any ways, I just wanted
to let you know there is a better way to loosen that stuck-to-the-bottom-of-
the-pot pasta! And that is, after draining the pasta, return it to the cooking
pot and add all other ingredients! Any type of sauce or oils or sour cream
and/or mayo will add extra moisture to those stubborn bits and help
loosen them while you are stirring everything else in. Then instead of
those bits going down the drain or into the garbage, they go into your
tum tum where they were originally intended to go! :):D:)
