Hey Everyone!

Just for fun, and because the subject came up in another thread...

What do you think of inexpensive substitute-for-a-real-shower body sprays (such as Axe) that seem to be all the rage?

Yay or Nay? Ladies, don't feel left out, as I've seen at least 2 versions of Axe Body Spray for Women, though not lately, so I'm not sure if they still make them.

I'm certainly not knocking anyone who wears sprays like this--everyone has long days when they need a little refresher--but I guess the funny thing I find about cheaper scents is that people seem to overcompensate by spraying on half the bottle (does that count as air pollution?)

I'm all for smelling good, but... half a gallon of aerosol just doesn't smell very appealing.

One of these products (I forget which one) also used to (and still might) have an image on the label of one guy with his arms wrapped around two women... Ahem. I also get a kick out of some of the names... (If I remember correctly, there used to be a product called, "Snake Charmer.") Make that a DOUBLE "Ahem".

Some singles may think they need all the help they can get when it comes to attracting the opposite gender.

So... What do you think about giving them The Axe??!

(Give me a few minutes to create a poll, but don't let that stop you from writing your own answer! :))

Again, this thread is just for fun and was created to hopefully bring a little lightheartedness to our beloved Singles forum! :)

Stop gassing people with axe....especially dudes who are just empty inside/shallow and have to over-compensate with so much damn spray!

I've worn it here and there. But generally things like that are not for me. And the bit i do own have been gifts. Not sure why anyone would get me a gift like that. Pretty obvious by my appearance i'm not into that kind of stuff.
But anything such as that, or perfume, etc... can so easily be overdone and become sickening instead of attractive. Doesn't matter if it's cheap or expensive, if you take a bath in it, you will reek, not smell good.

Lol I used an ex's AXE when I forgot to buy odorex.
Once when I lived in a student's home I had a shirt I really liked but you had to wash it, couldn't put it in the washing machine and I was lazy and really wanted to wear it. So we had this spray on the toilet and I sprayed it full with that.
A guy I liked came by to eat and he said: hmmmmm is that you? You smell so lovely.
Hahahahahahaha

Axe is nauseating. What a person wears reflects on them. I havent come across dime store cologne in the department stores have you? I think one can get it at walgreens? I proved my point!! LOL

The worst was after hs gym class, going into the locker room to change back into school clothes...was like entering a nasal sauna/overload...my head would literally ache from so many idiots emptying their bottles of axe....

Come to think of it a good prank would be when someone asks you "hey can I borrow your axe" pull out a wood chopping ax from your school bag and say "oh you mean this one" I guarantee you they will never ask or axe you a question ;P

For anybody who is interested, I am currently compiling a class action lawsuit against Ax. When I used it woman did not swarm around me like they did in the commercials. False advertising.

Axe is great if you're like 12. Lots of middle school boys use it because they're just getting rolling on the whole personal hygiene thing and it's inexpensive. I don't know that grown men really need to wear scent, unless they enjoy it. I mean, use a decent smelling soap and keep your clothes freshly laundered and you're good to go.

I don't use Axe, never have, and because of some of their advertising, I probably never will. But that's for another thread.

I guess perfume/cologne is the best example of the dictum that just because a little of something is good, more isn't necessarily better.

Axe is just odorex for guys. I sometimes use my brother's AXE. Don't smell the difference. Not too much lol.

I can't stand men (or women) who utterly drench themselves all the time in a scent (I can understand putting it on a little heavier if you're in for a long evening and want it to last all night, but... sheesh).

There is maybe one scent variant that Axe made that I found tolerable, but I think they discontinued it. Axe smells cheap. Most body sprays smell cheap. And I make a lot of judgments concerning your personal taste [and, frankly, your character] by the scents you wear.

But everyone I know uses something like that. Axe is very commonly used, just like odorex. It's not a perfume.

I personally enjoy being around a guy who is wearing a well-chosen cologne in moderation. But Axe... no thanks.
