But I like it too. it's messed up.

the elevator would be worse for sure. in my experience, those situations always involve smells that i'm not really cool with.

and i kind of enjoy getting "lost" in the woods. : )

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

tall glass of yerba mate tea, my empty dinner plate, a container of body shop's honeymania body butter, and an ounce or so of cabernet sauvignon.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?

sometimes i go camping the week of. otherwise, i typically go to the st. paul rodeo.

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?

i have a slightly unusual last name of german origin. it's only mildly annoying when someone can't seem to learn how to pronounce my name. but it's really not that complex.

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

well, i'm currently on the worship team, at my church, so i don't really have any qualms about singing in front of a large audience.

but if you ask my friends, apparently i don't have issues with dancing either. ; p

1. Definitely being trapped in an elevator full of people for a long time. I'm with Arlene on this one.

2. Wooden chairs lining the kitchen bench and assorted kitchen paraphernalia.

3. No, I'm not American but I've watched "Independence Day" a couple of times on the 4th of July.

4. Someone repeatedly spelling my name incorrectly.

5. I don't like the spotlight at all, but I would rather sing. I can't dance.

1. What would be worse for you, and why: Getting lost alone in the wilderness, or getting trapped in an elevator full of people for a long amount of time?
Well...the way I decided was like so- if I'm lost in the wilderness, I may get eaten by carnivorous beasts, but I wouldn't be at the very bottom of the food chain. Trapped in an elevator, however, someone would eventually be all "We're going to have to eat somebody", and based on my lack of butt-kicking skills, that Would put me at the bottom of the food chain...so...I'd much rather take my chances with the bears and mountain lions and whatnot.

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?
A very bright desk lamp, which is perched precariously on the bookshelf, and a bunch of books and movies and painting supplies and a clock radio that I don't even use because my daughter keeps chewing on the cord so I had to unplug it.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?
I don't really anymore...used to have a BBQ at my grandparent's house before walking across town to the high school to watch the fireworks being shot off from the top of the next hill over. Not sure what I'll do this year, probably nothing.

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?
There are maybe 5 people who can consistently spell 'Cristen' right, and I'm not even one of them. So I'm used to it. It's more annoying when they say it wrong. It's not that difficult!

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?
Ugh...sing, I guess. I haven't got the coordination for dancing.

1. What would be worse for you, and why: Getting lost alone in the wilderness, or getting trapped in an elevator full of people for a long amount of time?

Lost in the woods would be worse for me,because I hate bugs and I loathe sleeping on the ground. Trapped in an elevator would be ok because if I didn't end up having an interesting convo with the ppl I was trapped in there with,I could fall asleep & ignore them.

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

A pen. A calculator. A notepad.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?

Nope. I'm very anti-patriotic actually. I used to love blowing stuff up as a kid with fireworks,or go & watch them, but other than that the 4th has zero meaning to me. It's just another useless day where people get drunk & act like retards.

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?

People pronouncing it wrong!!!! I have no idea why people find it so hard to say. They add extra letters & sounds to it. God forbid they get it right, then they ask if I'm related to Jose. Ugh!

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

Neither. Done both. I'll stick to playing drums tyvm.

I forgot to give a reason for this one. I'm not the biggest fan of elevators, I don't like crowds or being cramped in a tight spot with or without others. I would probably freak out much more quickly than in the wilderness and go just a little crazy.

1. What would be worse for you, and why: Getting lost alone in the wilderness, or getting trapped in an elevator full of people for a long amount of time?

I'd say lost alone in the wilderness as I think it would be more pleasant if I had to let one rip in the open rather be stuck in an elevator with my own gas and anyone else's. Plus I prefer to be outdoors.

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

A screen door.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?

No. Because it's not celebrated in Australia.

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?

Spelling it wrong, but then again neither are something that bother me.

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

I've sang (growled & screamed) in front of large audiences so I'll go with that. I only dance in private or in front of my kids for a laugh. :)

elevator definitely. I have no desire to be that up close and personal with a group in a confined space and that situation screams a lot of complaining. No thank you.

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

Oswald Chambers book, tv remote

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?

No, being single and living far away from family, it just isn't a source for traditions

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?

Definitely spelling, because there are several ways to do it. No one ever mispronounces it.

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

Given the two, dance. No need to bust people's eardrums with my singing.

1.
What would be worse for you, and why: Getting lost alone in the wilderness, or getting trapped in an elevator full of people for a long amount of time?

Hmmm, how long are we talking about here? A few hours - wilderness would be worse. The odds of being found in the wilderness are much lower. I could die out there. Alone. Plus if it's anywhere around here, you're going to have a heat stroke and get eaten alive my mosquitoes within 20 minutes. But if it's going to be DAYS, I think elevator would be worse. Because I am not about to pee in front of strangers.

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

Chapstick, postage stamps, and a door.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?

Not really. My extended family usually gets together and I attend as I am able. A few times we've taken lawn chairs and watched fireworks with friends. The last few years I've been working on traveling on the 4th.

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?

Pronouncing it wrong would be more annoying I think.

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

Does it have to be a solo performance? If I can be in a group I'd rather sing. If I have to be alone, I'd rather dance.

My Flesh wants to say that being trapped in an elevator full of people would be worse, but in reality it' not that bad as I would imagine it to be, haha. In terms of wilderness, that would be bad if I were alone mosquitoes are mean little creatures :D

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

My wallet, water bottle, backpack.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?
Nah. I work because my family is scattered along the regions of the earth. Mwahaha.

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?
Spelling, because that means that I have to spell it back to them.

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

Sing :D

I hope to find five interesting questions every week for us to answer and discuss. Launching now.

1. What movie deserves a sequel?

2. What one toy would you like to throw repeatedly at a brick wall?

3. What is one thing you always wanted as a kid, but never got?

4. Where do you not mind waiting?

5. What is your most impressive car repair skill?
1. Any movie that was good enough for me to want a sequel shouldn't be ruined with a sequel.

2. Anything that makes incessant, repetitive noises.

3. Motivation and inspiration - I had to teach that to myself.

4. For the cheque at dinner.

5. I can magic things fixed with a magic cellphone call to the AA, but can also change tyres, air intake filters, replace oil etc etc.

1. What would be worse for you, and why: Getting lost alone in the wilderness, or getting trapped in an elevator full of people for a long amount of time?

The elevator would be waaaaay worse!

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

A bookcase with a bunch of clutter that I have to take care of, now that you have called it to my attention.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?

No real traditions. If with the kids, then we will go watch fireworks somewhere, or maybe set some off of our own. Otherwise...meh

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?

My name is fairly easy to pronounce, but my last name is commonly misspelled. It's mildly annoying, but it does not ruin my day.

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

Since I actually CAN sing a bit, I'd rather do that.

1. What would be worse for you, and why: Getting lost alone in the wilderness, or getting trapped in an elevator full of people for a long amount of time?

Alone is easy stuck with a bunch of people in a tiny place torture.

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?

Staircase going up to my second floor and what I term as Christmas hell....the wrappings and such under the stairs in a cubby hole with a small door for access. At least it is out of sight.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?

When my daughter was younger usually a picnic and seeing the fireworks - she is 34 now she can take herself to the fireworks. I just watch what the neighbors shoot off behind my townhouse.

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?

It has been several years now but for a time I would order catalog items at JC Penny's and for some reason when I would go and tell them to look under Roy they would come back and say we can't find your order....I would then say go and look under Ray and sure enough there it would be....why with such a simple last name? I don't know maybe there are more Ray's than Roy's.....

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?

I would love to do both.

Aaaand new questions!
1. What would be worse for you, and why: Getting lost alone in the wilderness, or getting trapped in an elevator full of people for a long amount of time?
Probably the elevator. At least in the wilderness i can move around. Breathe. Space. I can find ways to survive. In an elevator it's sit in a small, enclosed space and wonder if you'll plummet to your death at any second. Bleh.

2. Quick! What item(s) are to your immediate left?
Laptop, bottle of water, headphones, beanie, lots of junk.

3. Do you have any 4th of July "traditions"? If so, what? If not, why?
Yes. Stay home and watch TV. Or i can go into annoying crowds of people and hope i don't get hit by a drunk driver on the way home. Hmm... decisions decisions...

4. Which is more annoying to you: somebody repeatedly spelling your name wrong, or pronouncing it wrong?
My names fairly easy to pronounce. And spell. So... haven't had much trouble with either. Just don't shorten it. grrrr -.-

5. Would you rather dance or sing in front of a large audience?
Ugh... Umm... I've done 'vocals' in front of 200 people. Not exactly 'singing'. Geeze, i can't sing and i dance goofy, but with rhythm. Guess... i'd rather dance. =P
