1.) Who is your favorite actor and/ or actress?

I'm going to cheat and put three of each, even though there's a boat load more... lol

Actors - Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Benedict Cumberbatch
Actress - Sandra Bullock, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman

2.) What are some of your favorite song lyrics?

"Inevitable" - Anberlin

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have (that you'll ever have)
I wanna be your last, first love (that you'll ever have)
Till you're lying here beside me with arms and eyes open wide
I wanna be your last, first kiss for all time

"Salvation" - Skillet

Was it me?
Will you come to my rescue
Or did I push to far
When I turned my back on you?

I feel you keeping me alive
You are my salvation
Touch you, taste you, feel you here
Oh oh, yeah yeah
I feel you keeping me alive
You are my salvation
Hold me, heal me, keep me near
Oh oh, yeah yeah

"Parachute" - Train

and when the world gets sharp and tries to cut you down to size
and makes you feel like giving in
oh, I will stay, I will rain, I will wash the words and pain away
and I will chase away the way we push
the way we pull
you're beautiful

3.) If you were a flavor, what would it be and why?

Probably strawberry, mostly because everyone always says I smell like them. Must be that strawberry lotion I've been using, which smells awesome... because it smells like strawberries!

4.) Have you ever gone puddle-jumping in the rain?

Of course, who hasn't!?!

5.) What is your one guilty pleasure?

There are actually a lot, but I would say that I love watching cheesy romantic comedies with my mom at night while eating a big bowl of ice cream or some dangerously awesome sweet treat.

1.) Who is your favorite actor and/ or actress?

Actors - Ryan Gosling, Anthony Hopkins, Clint Eastwood, Alan Rickman.
Actress - Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman, Jodie Foster.

2.) What are some of your favorite song lyrics?
REM-The Great Beyond.
I'm pushing an elephant up the stairs
I'm tossing up punch lines that were never there
Over my shoulder a piano falls
Crashing to the ground

I'm breaking through
I'm bending spoons
I'm keeping flowers in full bloom
I'm looking for answers from the great beyond

I want the hummingbirds, the dancing bears
Sweetest dreams of you
I Look into the stars
I Look into the moon

3.) If you were a flavor, what would it be and why?

Hmm. Personality-wise probably mint, I am quirky, but I have been told that at times my quirks can be refreshing. Nature is also very cool, I could probably sit there all minty and talk to the bugs and the berries about the weather. Overall, I could probably hang out in a garden for a while and not mind it. But not in the winter though, all my bug friends would end up being killed off. But in the end, the season would change and then I would sprout as a new minty creation again.

4.) Have you ever gone puddle-jumping in the rain?

Two favorite things there, jumping into a puddle that has my face's reflection, and rain. It's like asking yourself to try the gum that has been stuck on your shoe all day. I always have wondered what the city has tasted like.

5.) What is your one guilty pleasure?
Coffee and The Office!

1. What's something that's happened in your life that was terrible at the time, but you now consider a blessing?

losing my sight for a time

2. What 3 words would you use to describe what love feels like?

nourishment, joy, and work

3.What fictional character's life would you say your own life is similar to (and what movie/show/book are they from)?

I cannot think of a single one. I am way too unique to be comparable to anything in a book or on a screen.

4. When you see homeless people on the side of the road with their sign asking for money, what do you feel? What do you do?

Depends on what they are looking for, because I actually know most of the resources in the community. If they are looking for a meal, I will run in somewhere I go grab them something and bring it back. If they are needing a place, I will help connect them with the right people. During the conversation with them, if they refuse the help and only want cash, I generally move on.

5. What's the most whimsical, silly item you own?

A friend was visiting me when I was in college. When she was switching planes in Dallas, she got me this stuffed little armadillo. I have had him on my shelf for nearly 20 years. His name is Arnie.

1. What's something that's happened in your life that was terrible at the time, but you now consider a blessing?
The struggle.

2. What 3 words would you use to describe what love feels like?
Black coffee. Coffee is warm and rich, but if you have bitter taste buds and see love as it is, you realize that it is not all about the sweet, frothy Frappuccino on the other side of the Starbucks counter.......sold by all those fancy mugs that you work two hours in a row to afford. It is truly about the hard pressed coffee beans that endures the encounter with the mechanical equipment. All while previously picked and gathered by dirt stained hands while the sun rises in the background, and a man with an acoustic guitar is playing ever so gently over on a stack of hay and the camera man begins wailing deeply because his heart is so touched by all the beauty that is in his life. Hehe, jk.

3.What fictional character's life would you say your own life is similar to (and what movie/show/book are they from)?
Catbug. Throw a blanket on it!

4. When you see homeless people on the side of the road with their sign asking for money, what do you feel? What do you do?
I feel hurt, and I feel guilty, depressed. If I have money, I give them money. If I don't have any money I end up walking by, and think about it all day :/
5. What's the most whimsical, silly item you own?

A jar of seaglass.

One of the ladies I used to help out at the nursing home gave it to me.

1. What's something that's happened in your life that was terrible at the time, but you now consider a blessing?

roughly 10 years ago, during a period of 20 months i was in a terrible car accident, lost both of my grandparents, and was sexually assaulted. those events all provided the catalyst for my stubborn walls to break down, and led to my rededicating my life to Christ. while it was the most painful time in my life, God used the events to bring me to Him, and i can't help but have gratitude for the resulting effect.

not only that, but those events have helped to make me who i am today. a softer, kinder, more loving, JOYFUL person.

2. What 3 words would you use to describe what love feels like?

refuge, accepting, challenging, hopeful, adventuring, warm

3.What fictional character's life would you say your own life is similar to (and what movie/show/book are they from)?

i've got nothing, really.

however, when i was younger, i identified with anne shirley, from the l. m. montgomery books, anne of green gables.

4. When you see homeless people on the side of the road with their sign asking for money, what do you feel? What do you do?

how it makes me feel? grateful and commiserating. more alike that different. in so many ways, i feel that pain, that hopelessness, and recognize that without God's grace, mercy and love, that could easily be me.

what do i do? it really depends. i'm not really afraid to talk to, or engage homeless people in public places. living in vegas changed things quite a bit for me -- more homeless people there, and i learned to carry small denomination gift cards for fast food places. i don't do that now, because there aren't as many in my city. but i try very hard to be open to people sent my way who i can make a small difference for. i can't help everyone, but i can make a difference for one person, and that is very satisfying.

i used to have no fear of giving hitchhikers rides, but i don't do that anymore--at least not men. there's a charity in my city that puts homeless men to work, and you can arrange to have them help you do work. you call, make arrangements, and then pick them up and drop them off. it's been a great thing for me, and i've used guys from there a lot.

i sort of feel honored to play a small role in helping them get back on their feet, and feel useful too. it's a shared opportunity. i've had some great convos working side by side, doing these projects that i can't do alone. very cool.

5. What's the most whimsical, silly item you own?

probably this cool ball bearing that i have held onto from a manufacturing job from many years ago. first, it's just super cool with it's many, many circles. and it serves as a nostaligic reminder of my history and a growing time in my life.

plus i love circles, and all of their symbolism. and it makes a great paperweight. : )

1.) What is something that has happened in my life that was terrible at the time, but later realized it was a blessing? To the first part of that question I would have to say being raped. The second part, I would have to say getting cancer, and recovering from it, and knowing why God gave it to me, is a blessing. Also, almost every trial God has put me through has been a blessing. :)

2.) What 3 words would I use to describe what love feels like? God and Jesus, the unconditional love my cat gives me, and chocolate!! :)

3.) What fictional character's life would I say my life is similar to and what movie/show/book are they from? Well, from a movie, I'd have to say Alice in Wonderland because my life is very strange quite often!! LOL!! :p From a tv show, I'd have to say Mama's Family because my family is dysfunctional AND crazy!! :)

4.) When I see homeless people on the side of the road with their sign asking for money, what do I feel and what do I do? I feel very sad that they are in a situation that forces them to resort to doing that. Around here, every day I see homeless people pick through our dumpster and recycling bins looking for bottles/cans to redeem, so I usually give them any cans I have, and/ or some money.

5.) What's the most whimsical thing I own? A clock in the shape and color of an orange cat, and the tail moves back and forth like a pendulum!! :)

1. Name 3 objects you would be lost without:

1. My cell phone
2. My wallet
3. My car keys

2. What's the oldest item in your fridge?

Hmm...it's pretty empty at the moment, but probably the unopened sandwich meat that I bought a few months ago.

3. Driving- what's the first song that comes to mind that includes that word (give us the whole line)?

I honestly can't think of one at the moment, but I'll let you know if I do.

4. Look out the nearest window- list 5 things you saw:

Grass
Sun
Clothesline
Trampoline
Blue sky

5. Which "element" are you most drawn to; earth, wind, fire, or water? Why?
I'd have to go with wind. So gentle most of the time, and I like the coolness that it brings, but it has the capacity to be powerful as well.

1. Name 3 objects you would be lost without:
My car. Public transportation sucks in this town compared to other cities of similar size.
My phone - although it is nice to intentionally get lost and go "off the grid." - my phone also has a Bible app which I love
My chef's knife...oh, and the cast iron pan...now that's four. Ok, I'll stop.

2. What's the oldest item in your fridge?
Probably some jarred prunes. I bought them to make prune brownies as a joke for a friend's "Over the Hill" party. I don't know what to do with the rest of them. It's been so long....probably throw them out.

3. Driving- what's the first song that comes to mind that includes that word (give us the whole line)?

Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" - the word "drive" is in the 2nd verse:
You got a fast car
I got a plan to get us out of here
I been working at the convenience store
Managed to save just a little bit of money
Won't have to drive too far
Just 'cross the border and into the city
You and I can both get jobs
And finally see what it means to be living

4. Look out the nearest window- list 5 things you saw:
my car
mailboxes
several trees
hanging geraniums and a jade tree (both mine)
a dumpster on the other side of the parking lot

5. Which "element" are you most drawn to; earth, wind, fire, or water? Why?
water - I love the ocean

1. Name 3 objects you would be lost without:

-my phone (no phone, no CC and no ordering pizza...)
-my coffee pot (duh!)
-baby wipes (super useful for way more than just wiping kid butts)

2. What's the oldest item in your fridge?

Since I got rid of the dead milk...a bottle of cold pressed, dark, Mexican vanilla.

3. Driving- what's the first song that comes to mind that includes that word (give us the whole line)?

One Headlight (the Wallflowers)-
...dang, I've had it stuck in my head all morning, and now the only part I can remember is "We can drive it home...with one headlight..."
Aside from that (which was already in my head) the first one I think of is Wreck of the Day by Anna Nalick-
"Driving away from the wreck of the day
and the light's always red in the rear view
desperately close to a coffin of hope
I'd cheat destiny just to be near you"

4. Look out the nearest window- list 5 things you saw:

-Highway
-rental cabin complex
-U-Haul rentals/storage unit place
-sagebrush
-Russian olive trees

5. Which "element" are you most drawn to; earth, wind, fire, or water? Why?

Water- I love everything about it; all the forms it takes...rivers (love the smell and sound of them, and rafting...yay!), lakes (swimming in them on days like today), rain (listening to it fall, watching it, playing in it). Only thing I dislike about water is drinking it.

1. Name 3 objects you would be lost without:

-My Bible
-Coffee
-This laptop is pretty nice.

2. What's the oldest item in your fridge?
Probably some grapefruits. They are now the ants' food.

3. Driving- what's the first song that comes to mind that includes that word (give us the whole line)?
I believe nowhere is a better place to be
Than not knowing where you're going now
I said education is a better state of mind
But I'd trade all my books to find a home
If I made bets on a better time
I'd lose my money every single dime
I believe moss on a rolling stone
Is better than the rust that's growing on my home

'Cause it eats at me sometimes

The more you struggle
More you fight it
More it clings to you at night
The more you wonder
More you dream
The more you pray it starts to die
And it does
Though it kicks you in the side
Yes it does
Though it takes a little time

4. Look out the nearest window- list 5 things you saw:

-A bush, birdfeeder, dried up onion, water spout, flowers.

5. Which "element" are you most drawn to; earth, wind, fire, or water? Why?

Wind- I love the wind because I feel it describes a lot of different situations and notions in life. Wind can be resistance, it can mean folly, it can bring reality. I feel that the situations in our lives can are brought by wind and I believe life is about finding direction within that wind and to be huddled underneath the arms of Christ when these winds hit.

1. Name 3 objects you would be lost without:

* My laptop - for work, if that thing ever breaks I'm instantly buying a new one. That day.
* My violin - I can't even go on holidays with out it.
* And I can relate to MissCris - COFFEE. So either the container of instant coffee or the kettle itself. I don't know, who's the real winner here?

2. What's the oldest item in your fridge?

Probably a jar of olives I'd imagine. Or a jar of vegemite. (Because vegemite is a necessity here in Australia, even if you don't eat it often)

3. Driving- what's the first song that comes to mind that includes that word (give us the whole line)?

This is really bad, but I'm not going to think of a cool song with that word in it when in actual fact, the song, 'You drive me crazy' by Britney Spears came to mind. I know, even I'm a little embarrassed at myself, because I probably haven't listened to that song since I was 8 years old.

4. Look out the nearest window- list 5 things you saw:

It's 5:34am in the morning here, in winter, so I see dark, dark and more darkness. If is was light, it would be hedge, and maybe the neighbour's roof.

5. Which "element" are you most drawn to; earth, wind, fire, or water? Why?

I'm tempted to say water, but I'd have to lean towards fire. I love watching and playing with fire. I was quite the pyromaniac as a child, I suppose there's still a little bit of that in me now. Every time I go away to some cabin and they have a fireplace, I always light a fire, even if it's not cold. I could just watch the flames dancing for ages
.
