Yes, but to say that sexual attraction can't very easily lead to lust (in our fallen world) is foolish.
Look at the relationship the same as hunger (attraction) versus gluttony (lust). One can lead to the other but the two are not the same.

It will...only if you want it to. As as human; you have control and responsibility over your sexuality. Look at the relationship the same as hunger (attraction) versus gluttony (lust). One can lead to the other but it is up to you.

The whole point is to avoid wantoness.

Psalm 23:1The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. [SUP]3 [/SUP]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Philippians 4:[SUP]11 [/SUP]Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. [SUP]12 [/SUP]I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. [SUP]13 [/SUP]I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Jude 1:[SUP]21 [/SUP]Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. [SUP]22 [/SUP]And of some have compassion, making a difference: [SUP]23 [/SUP]And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. [SUP]24 [/SUP]Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, [SUP]25 [/SUP]To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

While I get where everyone else is coming from as well, I hear you OGM. Don't be discourage by misunderstandings or even counter-arguments. Logically, you've presented quite good ideas which I understand and affirm. To everyone else, some of you are saying the same thing (but in different ways) as he is. Look again.

Of course some people may have a sexual addiction. In which case they have to be extremely careful not to feed the addiction.

I know they're not the same thing. I never said they were.

You did NOT just say sexual addiction did you?
:)

I just don't believe that there are any men out there, who like sex SO MUCH that they always want more.

Sounds crazy to me.

Yep... must be some kind of unnatural addiction.

: )

We lust for what we cannot have.
It is part of the fallen nature.
The ninth commandment is to not covet.

Alexander the Great drank himself to death when he was 33 years old, even though he had conquered the known world.
Lust is the desire to have what is not yours.
Can a man lust for his wife? No.

"If you burn, marry."
- Find a soulmate, if you have her, cherish her.
All other wanton sexual desires fall under the category of what killed Alexander the Great.
Is hell confined? No. Not a chance.
It's called original sin.

Would you say the same if I told you I have no addiction to alcohol or cocaine. Everyone is different. I grew up going to beaches in Spain, Southern France and Australia. People would very frequently swim nude. I have an extremely high threshold. Pornography seems fake and boring to me. I don't even give women on billboards a second look. Partly because I used to work with a lot if models when I doing ad agency work. It became just a job with very long hours.

What are you trying to say with that scripture?

As for addiction...yes there are sexual addicts that want sex all of their waking hours. Also a few years ago there was a claim made that men think about sex so many times in an hour. It was the creation of an ad agency and was not centered in fact or credible study.

The real question is why are you trolling a thread and instigating arguments here, when this was created for a positive, helpful purpose. All you've done is derailed the thread and turned it into your own personal debate. Now, the thread is useless to those who may benefit from it because you want to nit pick and argue.

How about women who lusts after men? How can a man fulfill his lust for a woman without the woman being a part of his lust?

It's been a while, but I remember thinking the woman in Fireproof was equally wretched.

I trust Jesus Christ by His grace & by His help to keep me from being like a dog that returns to his vomit. I am one of little strength wherein my strength is in the Lord as He is my hope & stay.
