As for addiction...yes there are sexual addicts that want sex all of their waking hours. Also a few years ago there was a claim made that men think about sex so many times in an hour. It was the creation of an ad agency and was not centered in fact or credible study.
Yeah well isn't that a load of rubbish. If this was the case nothing would ever get done.

One of Satan's devices in issuing fiery darts at us is to switch back & forth in the lust arena by desguising the present lust in ourselves which he is trying to have it take root in the sexual wise is by having us take a commercial break and go to the "hate & malice" arena, usually when we seek its fulfillment in the entertainment circle. We may not recognize it until whatever scenes in the movie or show takes its root in having us want to see the bad guy dead... to agree that the enemy deserves a painful death.

The Lord would point this out to me and I give Him the battle to deal with it by reminding me that I was a sinner myself and Jesus came to save sinners of whom I an chief and so whatever Hollywood is trying to program me into agreeing with, needs to be rejected right then & there. But Satan doesn't always sends his darts there. Sometimes he waits till afterwards when I am daydreaming and for some reasons my brain is going to worst case scenarios wherein I am repsonding in a very violent and malicious manner... and so once again, He points it out to me of my need of Him, and I yield to Him for His help to stop the run on the imagination and set my mind on better things or good imaginations.


The reason I am sharing this is that love and hate comes from the same place ( love being passion as to what the world really means when they use that phrase ) and so if we are to be free of lust from dwelling within our members as in keeping our minds off of it: it has to include loving violence or preferring violence in imaginary scenarios. If we cut off things that feed the flesh like porn, then do consider taking time away from video games or any provision of entertainment that you recognize as feeding the flesh with hate & malice.... so that the ongoing attacks with Satan's fiery darts to make us slip & fall in the sexual sins department would cease whe we stop feeding lust in all of its form.


James 4:1From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? So if anyone having a hard time in overcoming lust of its sexual nature, you might want to lean on Him for discernment that keeping your mind off of sex by going to "war" in your mind may not be an effective way to overcome lust that is being fed in your heart. I am not saying do not watch any violent program since we never know how a movie will go, let alone how it gets us involved in the drama, but if you are struggling with sexual lust, maybe christian songs will be a better escape.

Well that's a bummer. I just got the newly released call of duty: ghosts. Had to put a new power box, graphics card and more ram in my computer. What makes me angry is the cheaters not the game itself. I'm sure call of duty isn't as violent as other games around.

Please reread my post. I was referring to when you are attempting to take your mind off of sexual lust to violent lust that you wonder why the sexual lust is still bugging you after the game is over... then maybe you should consider not using that as a means to get your mind off of it.

If you are not having problems with sexual lust at the time you are playing the game...play the game. I am just pointing out to those that cannot fathom why they cannot overcome when the urge is on them like a dog on a bone when taking their mind off of it by playing video game and wondering why it is not helping still is because they are still feeding lust in a different way.

I like Star Trek, but I know it is a fantasy based on the lie of evolution, and so in that respect, I do not "love" Star Trek.

I used to like comic books, but the art was too flamboyant in catering to lust & the pride of life that I had to get rid of it and burn them for it served as an escape for a while, but it became a provision for the flesh and so the Lord helped me to get rid of it. The same goes for the Lost World TV series on DVD. Jesus helped me to love Him more than that DVD which had dominated my mind and my heart with a love scene that appealed to my lust in the episode of the third season. I thank Jesus for being my Friend in keeping me as His friend as I place my trust in Him as my Good Shepherd because I do not want to be a dog that returns to his vomit.

So trust Him to guide you if you are having trouble overcoming lust and even moreso if the devil is using that game to harbour a grudge or to continue to provoke you towards anyone in the land of the living in your mind in shooting that "person" in the game. That can be a temptation that even though one may use that to vent and control a rage, it is still ignoring the necessity of giving it to Jesus.

So go before that throne of grace and ask Jesus if playing the game is feeding a work in the flesh or not. Trust Him as your Good Shepherd to let you know if it is having dominion over you or not, and if it is, trust Him to help you get rid of it, and to help you find something else for your source of entertainment as well as giving you the love you need to forgive your enemies.

I can't play the games like that. I was warned in a dream not to go there. I got too many enemies that have ruined my life that the devil has been tempting me to go postal or to commit suicide but to no avail, because Jesus Christ is my Good Shepherd. They do not know what they are doing and so as I had been forgiven by the Lord Jesus Christ, He enables me to forgive them.

I am not saying that you suffer as I would for playing the game, but I am saying trust Jesus Christ to let you know that although all things are lawful unto us, if it is feeding any work of the flesh and having dominion over you by it, then you need His help to let it go.

Exactly. I know guys who would simply move their obsession to whatever is expedient - perhaps to their golf game or their car. Others might run to gaming, or television. There are a plethora of things we can run to which are not sin, but will still not fix an underlying lust problem.

The important thing is not to run from any problems we have. If we have a lust issue, we need to get away from whatever is causing it, and then run to Christ for aid in fixing whatever was driving us to the lust in the first place. Otherwise we have never let Him fully fix the problem and it could come back to bite us later. And that doesn't mean that a guy who has lust issues who plays golf, works on his car, or plays games etc is doing anything wrong either. There is no set answer for what someone who has that type of issue needs to do to fix it - other than whatever they do Christ needs to be present.

there is a filter from, i think its called xxx church, if i am wrong u may be able to google it.
but it is like an accountability filter that you can put on your computer to wash away any of those sites for you, you can delete it at any time but you will get some support and an "are you ok" email from the admin. i m not sure if this helps but when i heard of it i thought it was a brilliant idea! it is not just a filter but some spiritual support too :)

If you hit 'reply with quote' at the bottom right of the post you are speaking to it will help dictate who you are speaking to.

And yess... XXXChurch.com There are actually a number of methods. Differing types of software, etc.. Though usually they required a password, which means you need someone physically in your area to put in the password so you can't uninstall or override the program. Otherwise it would make it useless. There are sites for tracking your sites, tracking your keystrokes, filtering your content etc..

Christ is always present no matter what we do, which should comfort us to know that Jesus as our Good Shepherd is with us every step of the way to let us know when we need our mind set on something else and to even help us to do it too.
