I prefer the company of men myself. Most women are vapid, gossip continually and are generally far too emotional about everything. The women who aren't like that usually have a life, career, family so little time for new friends.

As a result I have always gravitated toward having male friends (IRL), but always and without fail, the guy ends up in love and wanting more. Tons of friendships ruined by that.

So I now gravitate towards being a hermit or towards friendships with women much older than myself.. Hahaha
You have literally just described me! The same male friend who stepped in, in that situation I recounted above did turn around and wanted to date me, marry me and the whole lot. So I told him that I really don't want to ruin our friendship because my expectations will change and because we know so much about each other, I don't think it was such a good idea. You have no idea just how many enemies I've made out of guys because of this friendship thing. I think it's mainly because most men detest rejection and in most cases don't take it well. I have been a loner for most of my life because of the jealousy and envy I almost always face with women. So until I meet my God-given man, I am content to just be alone. Except, off course for some of the beautiful people here and some other sites that I engage with from time to time. Hope you know you're one of them!

I obviously cannot speak on behalf of all men, but I can speak for myself.

Personally, I'm okay with being rejected.

I'm actually totally into mutual consent, and if somebody doesn't want to be with me or doesn't view me in the same manner in which I view them, then I'm perfectly fine with that.

What I DETEST, however, is when women play games with me.

Believe me, that doesn't last too long.

I'll give them ample opportunities to come clean, but if they persist in their game playing, then arrivederci.

Anyhow, I'd suggest to you that one very real reason why so many men desire more than women do is because we have so few real choices when it comes to finding decent women. That's certainly been my own experience, anyway.

I just knew that you'd have something to say about that. It was kind of a bait for you [lol]. That's how easy it is to reel you in. I hope some of the women here who are interested in this gentle giant, take note :p:p:p:p

You don't even need bait where I'm concerned. I'll just jump in any boat foolish enough to pass by while flapping my tail and splashing water on everybody...lol.

It's true...

On a more serious note, I think rejection is a major thing with men and it is even worse when they perceive it than when it really happens. Some men who I knew had a crush or were interested in me (especially the shy ones) would not approach me because of fear of rejection. Once, I asked an Irish acquaintance (a man) why another one of them was staring so hard at me but would not speak to me? He told me that they were simply just in fear of being rejected. The whole situation is made even more complex with mixed signals and mis-communication. I just wish there were more ways to address what men and women feel.

Call me simplistic, if you must, but I honestly believe that there is a very simple way to address what men and women feel:

Open and honest dialogue.

With God as my Witness (and it means something when I say that), that's all that I've ever truly desired.

Just be honest with me (spoken to the whole world).

If you (anybody) can't stand me, then great.

In all honesty, you'll (used in a general sense) gain a tremendous amount of respect from me by just being honest with me.

Contrariwise, I'll count you (anybody) as my worst enemy if you lie to me or waste my time.

it's a shame that I even have to say this on a Christian website where people are supposed to be serving the one who is "the truth" (John 14:6) while being indwelt and led by "the Spirit of truth" (John 14:17, 15:28, 16;13, I John 4:6). In other words, I've found professing Christian women (and men) to be some of the biggest liars ever, and that is a travesty.

It is what it is.

I think that I'm done here for the night.

Good night, everyone.

In fairness to you, and I'm saying this in all sincerity and not in any sort of condescending way whatsoever, you really don't know where I'm coming from simply because you're not as familiar with my posting history as some other members here are. I'll try to give you a better understanding of what motivates me to even partake in these types of discussions when I answer something that you recently said to me on another thread.

In varying degrees, yes, they are, BUT God has provided the means for us through Christ to purge ourselves from these types of characteristics as we're conformed more and more into the likeness of Jesus over time.

Anyhow, the reason why I mentioned those characteristics is because, in my own observations (others may have different experiences/observations, and they're certainly free to disagree), most of the world AND most of "the church" are still being wrongly attracted by these types of characteristics, and the proverbial proof is in the pudding. In other words, if they/we enter into marital relationships with others because we were drawn unto them by such characteristics, then we shouldn't be surprised to see such a high divorce rate in both the world and "the church". Granted, I'm NOT suggesting that these are the only characteristics or reasons which lead to divorce, but they definitely contribute to a high percentage of the same, at least in my opinion, anyway (again, others are certainly free to disagree).

I truly wasn't insinuating that they are. Again, I've previously told you that you seem to have a good head on your shoulders, and I also recently thanked you for your honesty when you described certain things about women. In other words, I don't view you negatively, and, believe me, there are plenty of people on this website that I do view negatively, and for very good reasons.

And there are many people on this website who would readily suggest that I am one of them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but our opinions aren't necessarily factual.

In all honestly, I didn't lump you in that category. I deliberately mentioned "a lot of women" and not you, specifically. Believe me, and I trust that others here can attest to the reality of what I'm about to say, if I have something specific to say to a specific individual, then I just say it. In other words, you never need to read between the lines, so to speak, when trying to figure out what I'm trying to say and to whom.

I know that, and I appreciate it as well.

Well, most people here already know what I look like, but I'll post a picture if you promise not to laugh.

Promise?

I must tell you that it was quite windy when this picture was taken, and I left my home in a rush that day, so I didn't have a hairbrush handy.

Anyhow, here's the picture:

What?

lol.

Okay, here's what I really look like:

View attachment 242497

That picture is probably about 6 years old (Sorry, but I'm really not into selfies), but I pretty much look the same now.

Just add some white hairs to the chin area of my beard, a couple more wrinkles to my face, and imagine that I recently came out on the losing end of a battle with 6 professional kickboxers in a back alley somewhere, and "VOILA!", that's what I currently look like.

Anyhow, I certainly didn't mean to cause you any offense in any of my previous responses to you, so I hope that we're good.

Ttyl.
Thank you for that. Ya know what? You come across as attractive when you are not talking about your ex or others. But I think that for you, its a healing thing? Seems to be....That is my opinion however and yes I agree opinions are not factual :) Your pic made me smile. Both of them 😊

There's a reason why I talk about my ex...actually more than one.

She and I are actually quite amicable now, and I definitely don't speak about her out of any sort of hostility. In fact, I still pray for her at least once every single day. You'll understand my motives eventually...if nobody shoots me first...lol.

Anyhowwwww...

Whether I'm attractive or not, you're still not invited into my treehouse:

So there.

:p

Seriously though, I'm glad that you're not mad at me.

Even grizzly bears need friends (but don't tell anybody).

I'd never heard it before, but, apparently, somebody said it to "Winnie the Pooh".

I'm definitely not a "pooh" bear. I can guarantee you and the whole world that...lol.

"Screwed" as in screwed up, or do they literally have screws in them?

Well, if you bring some rice and beans, then maybe I can install some sort of hoisting system.

Or a cannon might work...lol.

I'm 44, grey hair, bad teeth (relatively... in some areas, like Japan for instance, they would think it rather odd to have perfect teeth at my age) getting a bit chubby since I don't have the liberty of riding my bike to my job any more. You ain't missing a thing here.

There's actually a picture of me somewhere around the forum, but I'm not hunting it down.
What I noticed is that a lot of women start to grey when they are young even in their 20s but they dye their hair every month. For me its not worth it to buy dye every month when I love grey! As for the teeth thing, I dont even smile with an open mouth lol Id love to get some caps or something like everyone else is doing but its not high on my priority list. Im probably size oblong now. I dont know why I thought I needed to hibernate during the pandemic and store up all the good stuff in my belly. But to say something like I love my soft curves isnt very Christian like is it? It sounds like Im clickbaiting but Im just being truthful. I dont want to be skinny and toned lol sorry tmi.

Personally, I prefer Batman and Robin.

Well, Batman, anyway...lol.

Now that I've been told that I'm "old" twice, I think that I'll head off to bed (I need to get up in 6 hours for work, so that's a good idea, anyway).

Good night.

Perhaps, but he also doesn't wear pants while out in public.

Are you trying to get me arrested?

Oh.

Sorry to hear that.

No worries. I'll just terrify some campers in the meantime.

I really do need to go to bed, but I'm involved in a PM marathon at the moment...

Think your thread went a little sideways but its okay, can men and women have a platonic friendship? Maybe this thread will prove to those who say no like me, that it can be done :)

Protip: If you don't care whether they can or can't, it's a lot easier to make friends. ;)
