Growing up in Detroit I often went to the Detroit Zoo. Didn't care much for seeing the animals in cages. It was kinda of a lame set-up. They did have a cool little train though that would zip you around the park.
Sounds like you've been to some amazing places Tourist!!

I totally get what you're saying about seeing the animals in cages. I feel the same about the aquatic animals, because no tank could ever compare to the freedom of the ocean.

I've often thought of that myself -- if I could choose freedom to live wherever I wanted, to come and go as I pleased -- or lifelong comfort, the best food and medical care available, but a relatively itty bitty living space compared to the whole world, what would I choose?

I'm not sure.

And it makes me feel sad for the animals.

On one hand, I'm grateful to be able to see them up close for myself instead of just on a screen. I also want to see endangered species preserved.

But on the other hand...

I can't help but wonder if these poor creatures we are paying money to gawk at are crying out to God for their freedom at the same time.

Could very well be. There is not a single sparrow that falls to the ground that God is not aware of. Kind of said, really.

I assume this means you want to change your name so that all your posts that remain on the forum will have the new name of your choosing, even if you leave the forum?

That isn't possible.

The only name change that you could do is to close your current account and open a new one under a new name, but all your old posts would remain the same under your @2ndTimothyGroup name.

I'm not an administrator at all, but others have requested the same as what you are asking, and as far as I know, in the 15 years I've been here, it's never been done.

I don't think it's possible in the system.
No. I'd rather not be associated with this site altogether. Having worked in IT, it isn't difficult to change an account name. But whatever. Par for the course.

Hopefully you'll be able to choose a name or ability to change it that better suits your wishes on your next forum, if that's where you're headed.

Best wishes.

Thanks. Just trying to figure out how to close this account.
If you go to Oncefallen's profile page and leave a note asking to close your account, he should be able to help.

All his work is voluntary on his own time, so it might take him a bit to fulfill your request.

Thank you. I finally discovered how to place the request.
