I woke up this morning and after reading a text message from a friend about a book he bought, i remembered that some 6 years ago I bought a book called the "Complete Works of Flavius Josephus" the first century historian. At the time I thought, "What a great buy!" Then I lent it to my then girlfriend. A while later we broke up. Then she left town and I thought "Bye bye good buy!"

What have you ended up parting with when you parted with someone you were dating?
I finally gave my copy away because the font was so doggone tiny that it was a pain to try and read.

One time I let a girl keep my toys because I was going off to college, even my prized cowboy... and I never got them back. She even marked out my name that I put on his boot and put her own. Who does that?

I feel bad laughing but the cowboy thing with rewriting the name is hilarious and so sad.

It sounds cliche' but I didn't really lose things but I lost a lot within myself because it took so long to finally trust someone and open up about my issues and past with someone for them to just crush it. So I lost a lot of myself. So now he's left me with horrible anxiety. plus he also broke the hearts of my four little nieces and nephews who adored him and he doesn't understand just how much kids get attached. They still ask for him over a year later now.

I kept his fav hoodie and childhood book for about a year then threw it out. :D It's petty but having that one little win over him helped. (a little) as he never even talked to me out of breaking up out of the blue with no real excuse.
