This is the only group of singles I want to meet with...

Oh gross! I never eat cheese that ends with product or food. If the last word in its description is not cheese, it's not cheese.

Derailment is complete. You may now return to your regularly scheduled program.

I know there is a site called Meetup.com
I bet you could find things to do with singles in your area from there..
I belong to the Houston area christian singles on meetup..
there are probably these meetings in every area :)
I did a quick check on Meetup.com for my area. There were three groups; Preppers, Retired Adventurers, and Witches. That's right, witches.

My oldest son was living with one..in Arizona (he fled after my husband got that younger woman .he was almost her age and it grossed him out I think..)
they are broken up now..but because of her I didn't hear from him for two years up until last october..

i attend a single women's small group but i still feel isolated there at times since most of the women are dating, likely to be engaged soon or are actually engaged. I've never heard of a single group with men and women - I think the concept would be cool but churches may shy away from it because it would seem like a dating event instead of a church event.

Who should lead the group? AWESOME question
a married couple who's been married for a long time? - They may have forgotten what it feels like to be single.
a married couple who was single in the Lord for a long time and married semi recently? - I like this idea a lot more.
two separate singles? both male? - Not in a coed group
two separate singles both female?- Not in a coed group
or two separate singles one male, one female? - I like this idea A LOT.

Activities - I would really love for my group to do more activities together (not just bible study). I would love to go to games together, watch movies, restaurants, go running, etc. Bible study is great but I really want to get to know these women and become friends with them. You need women of God around you to continue on the right path and right now I feel like my group is surface level.

I have and sometimes do, yes.. don't judge :)
Some of them are indecent and no I don't watch those seasons or episodes and usually I just go find spoilers to see who my fave bachelorette picks..
but I am a girl..and love romance..
and though I am careful what I watch, and DVR on purpose everything because I don't approve of half the stuff on TV,
I don't just watch spiritual or biblical shows..

I go to a church singles group, but it isn't my church. I'd love to have a singles group at my church. A lady friend of mine and I discussed, but haven't really gotten serious about it. That's an interesting question about who. So far the singles groups I've been to that are church run it has always been a single woman over it. The one got married and that group has stopped for now. It seemed to work out good till she married. I think it would be great if it could be a married couple, but I imagine that could cause problem, but it could cause problems for anyone who doesn't behave. Has to be a solid, strong christian. I use to go to a radio station singles group that was mostly men than ran it. It seems to work real good. Most of them were married. I like church singles groups, but I don't want to go to them a lot, but fun now and then.
Activities.... It's nice to have fun things, but it needs to be balanced out with bible teaching pertaining to singles needs, not just all activities. This Saturday the singles is doing a Thanksgiving Dinner get together, we can invite our kids. Unfortuntely mine are all busy. We're having a dinner, movie, games and card games, ballroom dancing lessons. That did a hike recently, that I suggested but didn't get to go. They went to a covered bridge and hike, lunch at the park and visited an antique mill that give tours only and then they did line-dancing lessons (not a dance hall w/ drinking type of thing). They go to christian concerts and just go out to resturants to just hang out sometimes. And they went bowling and a farry boat ride one night.
Singles do need singles, or we become too isolated sometimes. Hope you fined and good one soon.

Don't worry I'm not judging you, just teasing. :D I watch some cable shows that could easily be classified as evil so I'm definitely not one to judge. :) And what I meant was that I wouldn't want to feel like the one guy in a room full of single women. That would be way too awkward for me, but in reality the women probably wouldn't even notice me anyway. :/

It would be awkward I agree.. :)
and I am totally against trashy TV :) but some people would think my TV watching is trashy :)
Top Model and Bachelorette (sometimes!!) and I am very picky about the Bachelor seasons however..
for some reason women are way worse than men sometimes when it comes to the raunchiness factor ..(excuse me for lack of a better term)

Zero, I don't think many of us would be noticed in a room full of men/women that are hand picked by television producers:)
so no worrieS:)

My church has no singles group, but instead have a college and career group. Sort of young adults after high school. I think it's good to have that because the focus isn't on finding a relationship, but growing in god first and foremost. It's probably better. Plus I grew up with these Guys so I almost can't imagine honking of them in a romantic way.

Yes my church does but I have not gone to it because the friend i go with use to be my girlfriend so it might make it hard to get to know any single ladies due to that.

Thats the problem, with a small family like congregation it can become so awkward.
