This thread would greatly benefit from a poll.

Anyway, raised in the synagogue everyone said Ah.

At church, everyone seems to say Eh (pronounced like the letter A)

I go with the latter now usually.

Well, when my brain is switched to Spanish mode, it's "Amén," but when my brain is switched to English, it's "Amen." For all remaining switches, it's "Good Lord, have mercy!"

Kind of like this but not hey man, amen. And what's up with this.. Apologetix is usually terrible, but they should cover this song... I might like it.

Ditto :)

It sounds prettier as ah-men when singing it. :) Long "e"s don't sound pleasant to the ear when a note is held for a long time either. :)
Nothing like prolonged long "e" nasal sound **shudders**

I say Ay-men because Americans do and I adapted to their culture and phonetics :p , but in Spanish I say Ah-men. Though when we sing at church, we pronounce it with the Ah- sound.

I don't know what it is, but I've never heard anyone use either Ah-men or A-men exclusively. It's always interchangeable. I find if I'm praying in a group, we're all more likely to say, "Ah-men," but if I'm by myself, I am more likely to say, "A-men." I can distinctly recall times that I have said "Ah-men" during my solitary prayers. Usually it's when I feel all warm and fuzzy inside, because you know how daughters are with their Daddies. Especially with their Daddy in Heaven. ^3^

Before i opened this thread up, i just saw the title of it.

I thought you were asking how we felt about men. Are we like eehh... men or AAAAAAHHHH men!

I already had my answer in mind when i opened this up, it was going to be AAAAAAHHHHH men!!

Now that i know that is not what this thread is about... i don't know what to think!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Phew!

Nice job servant strike I like the throwback to early 90s grunge/alternative.

Even if those drums and heavy guitars are going to send me to hell as over threads on CC would like me to believe.

I'm an Aussie, so I say Ahhh-men. But I've noticed that Americanisms like Eh-men have become increasingly common in churches here.

I've always said ay-men, because I was raised in an ay-men-saying household. :p I've heard ah-men too though, but if I said it that way, I would feel unnatural as if I were trying too hard to copy somebody else.
