I once had my salvation questioned on facebook, of all places (ya know, cuz the Book of Faces is sooooo spiritual and chock full of true believers who know they are saved cuz God gives them the good parking spaces) because I stated that I do not like the song "Christmas Shoes." No....it's more than dislike. I absolutely hate, hate, HAAATE, HAAAAAAAAAAAATE this song!!!

Thanks Catherder - i like a little vomit in my tears. Thanks for sharing. For whatever reason this song drives me nuts. I hate it. If I'm at a mall and I hear it I think about suicide.

I was gonna check Mr. Grinch because in some ways Christmas music drives me nuts. It's not that I don't like Christmas music even though Christmas isn't exactly my favorite holiday, it's just that from mid November until a couple of days after Christmas most radio stations that I listen to play almost nothing but Christmas music. After hearing the same song for the 200th time in three days it starts getting old.

Fun fact: the tradition of standing during the performance of the chorus was set at the premier of Messiah, with King George in attendance. Because the monarch was moved to stand by the spiritual power of the selection, everyone else in the audience stood as well. History always paints a pretty picture, however; in reality, King George, after hearing the previous movement, assumed the oratorio was completely over, and stood up to leave just as the Hallelujah chorus began.
