Honestly, me too hahahaha.

I'm reading through the Iliad and appreciate the movie more than I used to. It really channels the vibe you get when you read Homer. They should have filmed 300 like Troy and Troy like 300. But nobody consults me on these things, hahahaha.
Life ain't fair man.

Twelve years ago, I made a decision to study politics and psychology rather than the delve super deep into the classics.

Nobody's fault but mine.

Well, we are not God. I wish we could do millions of things simultaneously. I'd be the best 3D artist out there, make some movies, be in the best shape ever, be a master martial artist, and know every Seinfeld episode backwards and forwards. But... whaddayoo gonna do?

Exactly. Only so many hours in a day.

Resting acknowledges our inadequacy before the Lord and is therefore a gift.

Wow... never ever thought of it like that.

I suppose for the sakes of our sinful pride it IS a gift, sort of a modified thorn in the side. But man... imagine if we didn't need it. The works of art, architecture, technology... yikes. I suppose that's what eternity's for.

That or we would just spend more time watching Netflix

It was a gift to us before the Fall , but also imagine how quickly we would build our Towers of Babel as well? Rest stabilizes us in our pre-fallen and fallen states.

I don't think in our pre-fallen states such a thing would have been an issue. We didn't know sin or pride or anything else that separates us from God.

But... you may have a point in that they had not yet made the conscious decision to NOT sin, which would have sent the human race in the other direction. Then what would it have been like? Would we still need to rest for 1/3 of our existence? Then again, would it matter? We'd never die, so we'd have all eternity to pursue such projects.

Ugh.... bro, stop throwing out these stimulating thoughts. I'll be here all day :p

I've always wondered if that is one of the things God has for people in eternity...

For example, with artists and other creative people -- does He give them all most advanced supplies and a space the size of a planet...
Then looks down, smiles, and says, "This is yours to fill with whatever you want! Go wild!"

And even God stopped human potential in its tracks by creating the languages of the world (what an intervention!!) at the Tower of Babel.

So what's going to happen when He finally pulls out all the stops on what He truly created humans to be?

Someday, we're going to find out.

Uh oh... I just saw that Desdi and I were kind of on the same wavelength.

Armageddon has already begun.

Seriously, I can't imagine what Bach and Rembrandt have managed to accomplish in their glorified state. It must being astounding.

Thank you, brother. Have a good one!

Trolling tends to be obnoxious. Never thought of this as such bro.

Be well at work.
Adieu!

Am I off when I say that God wants to share responsibility and management of His creation with us? Holy moly... imagine...

Colonizing distant planets... a planet dominated by plant life given to a botanist, just to study... architecture we cannot imagine today...

But, in our sinful states, we need that division to keep us in a competition mode with one another. It's a management technique employed in the American government, the separation of powers -- ambition checking ambition.

But... one day... A sanctified Star Trek... whoa...

I want a planet full of Godzillas! I'll scratch one under the chin and go "Awww... who's da big boy!!" Or... maybe God could make Loony Toons cartoons ... REAL!

And what about human sexuality in eternity? Actually there's another thread on that here.

Heh... I can hope, can't I?

The best part about starting discussions is seeing where people take them. :geek:

You know, it is. For every Christian there's going to be agreement or a difference of opinion and always a difference in personality. I've had such a diverse set of reactions to my posts since I've joined.

Sometimes though it can be like herding cats, especially if you want the discussion to stay on topic. It's amazing the the changes in direction conversations can take.
