I sometimes have to explain to people my "Gizmo" teddy bear that I've had since my parents gave it to me at Christmas back in 1984 when the movie "Gremlins" came out. When I try to explain to my friends that I've had it since I was a child (as opposed to buying it recently) they simply won't believe me. I even show them the number "84" my mother wrote on its tag that year, and they just assume that is how old I will be when I finally outgrow it!

But I will never turn my back on the Giz!!!

The squeaker in his belly still works! How cool is that? But I still have to make sure I don't feed him after midnight though!!!
Bright light! Bright light!

I've had to explain having one of these

MON-1200.jpg

tucked under my bed.

I was a security guard 25 years ago and just never got rid of it. IMO it's a good home defense weapon so I keep it handy.

I have one of those too...and I learned never to drive outside of my jurisdiction with it in my car when I left my badge at home once. And it's great if you know how to use it. :)

In CA they were illegal to possess without current certification accompanied with a current guard card or being law enforcement so technically I illegally owned it for years after my guard card expired. Here in CO there are no laws that prohibit ownership. :D

Ha ha ha... I really want one of these... for the times I get the urge to club "super righteous" people... :) Forget the holy water, I want a holy club!

Security guard? SHU--RRRE. Nice alibi. :) (j/k!)

I've been thinking I may need to use it to try to knock some sense into myself here real soon.

...I can explain why there are several boxes of disposable "incontinence" bed pads on the shelves in the garage... ...the pads are placed on my laundry room floor for our dog. LOL

Hm...interesting.
My dog has his own bed. Actually-he thinks he owns all -> beds.

I forgot that mine was laying on the backseat of my car when my husband and I went on a day trip out of state years ago. He got pulled over for speeding and they had to contact my department for verification because I left my badge at home.

I was looking in the toy section for christmas gifts for my kids last night, and one of the walmart employees started treating me like I was being suspicious.

Apparently I'll have to explain I shop in the toy department...and why I have little kids clothes all over the place.

That little piece of official looking college transcript type paper with my name on it, well I can explain that. I actually went to college.

Sorry, Just need to vent. I think my boss was surprised that I actually know something about some things. Not sure if it's because I'm female or if it's because I don't get very political at work.
