1. I get a little concerned sometimes because occasionally a dream can get quite visual and real and disturbing and if/when I've talked with other people about dreams in general, I'm hearing they're not as well remembered or as intense.

2. I've had good dreams - every now and again of something like meeting the ....well...dream girl. And other kinds too where I'm doing something like riding a big new shiny motorcycle - you know, something you'd probably never get or whatever.

1. After I've talked about my dreams, I usually feel dissatisfied with how I was able to convey everything I felt/saw/experienced in the dream to the person I was describing it to. Like there was something I understood and I couldn't share that understanding with someone else. I also feel good talking about my dreams, because even though the other person will never know what I knew, it still feels nice to talk about it.

2. I would say that the majority of my dreams are good. I dream often, I will usually remember at least part of one dream a night - sometimes I'll remember more. It's been a while since I've been aware that I was dreaming, but it used to happen a lot when I was a teenager. I would always try to do something deviant when I would realise it was a dream. I don't do that anymore because (and this may sound extreme to some) I believe that even in my dreams I'm accountable for my actions. While I'm the only person who knows what's going on in my head, God knows and I'd like to honor Him whenever possible, even in my dreams.

So, to answer my own questions now...

1 - When i have these conversations, i often walk away from them feeling 'weirded out'. Off somehow. And there have been a few times where i've felt creeped out. Similar feelings when you might talk about demonic/spiritual experiences, and it leaves you feeling edgy. Usually somewhere in that area.

2 - I do not have good dreams normally. I think maybe i've had a few in my entire life. But when i have had the 2-3 i often wake up feeling bad, because i realize none of it was real.
Starting from my oldest memories until i was in my early teens all i had were bad dreams. One dream in particular repeated a lot as a child and as i got older it tapered off, lasting even into my mid-teens. If i am having a 'neutral' dream, something that is neither good nor bad, there is often a dark haze/vibe that permeates the dream itself, leaving an uneasiness.
I did have one dream that i can remember that didn't involve the 'dark haze'. It was bright and colorful. The entire dream was fun right up until the end when the friend i was with in the dream suddenly killed themselves. So weird haha.

Thanks to those of you who stuck on topic and took the time to answer. It's interesting for me to know that people will actually dream good dreams consistently. I figured people must, but can't recall anyone having ever told me.

I forgot to mention that part - someone else on this thread said it too that when they had a really good dream, it was disappointing to wake up and realise it wasn't true. That has happened to me and sometimes it's hard to shake that disappointment. Throughout the day even, I'll remember little bits of what I thought was true and have to remind myself that it's not. Sad.

Sometimes I have odd dreams and then sometimes scary and sometimes just funny.

The other night I had a dream that some of my teeth fell out and the next day my Husband chipped a tooth. I said that's kind of like the Twilight Zone, but just a weird coincidence.

The house I grew up in was next door to a large cemetery, the cemetery has a pond, I used to walk to it a lot and feed the ducks. I had this dream that these ducks came to my house and told me about the giant orange that was chasing them, through the cemetery. I went to help them, the giant orange ended up rolling after all of us.

That is still the weirdest dream I've ever had.

When I was in my early 20's I remember two dreams I had about the weather. One was I was looking out my bedroom window and there was a light covering of snow on the ground and when I woke up I thought it was weird because it was in March in Kentucky and we don't usually have snow that time of year. Real Life - A short time later in March I looked out the window one morning and there was a light covering of snow on the ground that melted off quickly.

The second dream I was working at the hospital and looked out one of the windows and saw a tornado and we were trying to get patients down to the first floor. Real Life - A short time later I was home sick with the flu when several tornados came through the Louisville, Ky area and I talked with one of the people I worked with at the hospital and asked them could you see the tornado out of the window and they said yes. I have not doubt if I had not been sick I would have seen what I saw in the dream.

Now do I think I have any special ability absolutely not but how weird is that to have had two different weather dreams in the same year that really happened before they happened?.... I kind of got scared to dream about anything weather related so I guess I am lucky those kind of dreams stopped. That's my weirdest dream story.

I have had a few strange dreams, but rarely remember much of them, just bits & pieces. Most never make much sense.
Some have been intense. I have had a few where I sort of felt the emotion of the dream after I woke up & it may have lingered with me throughout the day. Usually it would be anger or sadness, never anything all that good.

I'm sure I've had a few nice dreams over the years. I've shared them with friends before, but nothing too shocking to report.

I don't mind when people I know share their dreams with me,I always hope they are never looking for me to psychoanalyze them for them,'cause I'm clueless.

Oh one other thing. I have always dreamed in color. I am surprised as to the number of friends I've known over the years that say they've never or rarely dreamed in color.

This is an interesting topic.

The only dreams I remember are the unusual ones, other than that I don't even know if I'm dreaming at all (or if I am and just don't remember it).

I never used to think anything of dreams, but (at the risk of sounding insane) I have, on more than one occasion, had dreams which later on I realised were like a warning of sorts. Two specific examples I have are:

One morning whilst getting ready for work, I was having a conversation with a friend who asked me 'How'd you sleep last night?' and I said 'Yeah, pretty good although I dreamt I crashed my car'. I thought nothing of it and proceeded to go about my day as usual...that afternoon I crashed my car. It was after that incident I started to pay more attention to my dreams.

A few years later I woke up one morning at like 2am and sat bolt upright in bed. I woke up my (now ex) husband and said 'You need to drive me to work today' (I used to start at 4.00am and walk- it was only across the street but it was still dark at that hour). He asked why and I told him I dreamt I got attacked on my way to work. So, I made him drive me and on the way to work (when there is usually NOBODY around) we passed a creepy looking guy hovering right by the back entrance to my work. I don't know who he was or what he was doing, I'd never seen him before. I truly believe there was a warning in that dream and had I walked to work that day...well who knows?

There are other dreams I have had since. Many of which involve people I know, some friends, some just acquaintances and sometimes I can't actually picture the people or remember them the next morning, but in the dream they are familiar to me. I seem to have lots of dreams which involve water, or people drowning...it's all very weird. There are 2 dreams I specifically remember that had people I knew in them. The sequence of events in the dream itself really made no clear sense, but I remember them to this day. I have no idea if these dreams 'mean' anything specific or anything at all for that matter, but I could recount them now in precise detail. Weird huh?

Better an orange than a giant grapefruit. The orange was trying to make some fresh squeezed...

1- If I happen to have a dream that makes me feel weird or bad, I usually just won't talk about it with anyone. When I do talk about my dreams, or hear about others' dreams, I think I'm pretty indifferent about it. I mean, it can be interesting to talk about a little, but about the only feeling I end up with afterwards is annoyance, if the other person tried to find some major, deep meaning behind my dream.

2- I'd say the majority of my dreams are good, or at least somewhat pleasant. I seem to go through short phases once in a while where I have a lot of nightmares for a few weeks or so, but that happens less and less often the older I get.

This thread is about dreams, but not intended to by the typical thread on dreams that are popping up weekly on this site. So to be clear this thread is

NOT

about
~dream interpretation
~sharing dreams
~debating over what dreams are or are not

What the real purpose of this thread is ...

Chatting with friends about dreams we have is pretty common. Often we share weird, scary, good dreams back and forth. My question revolves around this.

1 - When you have these kinds of conversations, do you feel anything when you walk away from the topic? Meaning does talking about and sharing dreams, and hearing about others, make you feel good, bad, awkward, etc..?

2 - Do you have good dreams? I know dreams are weird typically. But, weird or not, do you ever dream things that are enjoyable? If so, how often?
I have had some bad dreams but really it is more of God showing me things more of a prophectic dreams. One was really deja vu kind of dream.. Let me explain this what I mean. One is about tribulation coming.. I was standing in a cape cod bedroom window upstairs looking out and saw how windy trees are and weather changed so quickly.. one min nice, next deadly storm then next awkward, etc.. but I remember seeing it has colorful childish fan with light on it on the ceiling.

Few years later, SAME PLACE--REAL PLACE!! I married and moved in to my bride's home (she owns house.. I lived in an apartment in basement.. hated that apartment). And guess what when I saw it.. SAME PLACE, SAME FAN, SAME COLORS, and backyard is same! Tribulation coming! Or may be here now already. Well, that is over with with her.. whew!! But.. the tribulation.. good question.

But I had some GOOD DREAMS.. I do not want to repeat about my dream in 1985 (please find else where about my dreams. The dream was about God showing me clues and who is my bride is) and the several followed up dreams in 2002, 2003. The 2nd dream was to pick up where the 1985 dream dropped off. Then the dream about which woman I should marry to and saw her and the other was not meant to be whom I already met and she wanted to marry me but God said no, not her). Then there was final dream of my bride as she was pregnant with our daughter, Isabella (another dream God showed me who she was.. My daughter and said to name her). I saw my wife pregnant and saw rest of my family-brother, sister, their children, but not my mom. My mom passed away in 2012 and that dream about my wife pregnant was in 2003! SO! Any day now I should have my bride.

Now, the problem with this.. if I tell, it can scare away females.. or they are scared that they could be the one. If I keep it quiet.. how can I know.. like I have to ask if she has a silver cross necklace? That is the "rib" I am looking for. A big clue.

Really difficult to do the search this way.. But talking about my dreams.. no problem. I do want to talk about it but AFTER I meet closely matched females to learn more about them by talking about them. I ask questions and they have to match to the clues in my dreams I had.

Upstate, wish you would have read my original post more carefully and followed those guidelines instead of using this as another attempt to go on about your obsession with finding a wife or to advertise your wife finding blogs or to hint at seeking advice whether you should share these dreams with women. You have blogs, and the option to make your own threads for all of this, please don't try to inject or hijack others threads with it. Especially when they specifically ask you not to do such things right in the first post.
