This thread is about dreams, but not intended to by the typical thread on dreams that are popping up weekly on this site. So to be clear this thread is

NOT

about
~dream interpretation
~sharing dreams
~debating over what dreams are or are not

What the real purpose of this thread is ...

Chatting with friends about dreams we have is pretty common. Often we share weird, scary, good dreams back and forth. My question revolves around this.

1 - When you have these kinds of conversations, do you feel anything when you walk away from the topic? Meaning does talking about and sharing dreams, and hearing about others, make you feel good, bad, awkward, etc..?

2 - Do you have good dreams? I know dreams are weird typically. But, weird or not, do you ever dream things that are enjoyable? If so, how often?

My dreams are never good, and I always feel a little worried after I share them, because I start thinking over the dream, and then I imagine that the other person just became Sigmund Freud and that they are about to dive deeper into my soul than I have ever gone. But to be fair, whenever someone tells me their dreams, I believe I am Freud, and that I am about to give some sort of mind blowing incite. I'm always disappointed.

I usually have pretty weird dreams, sometimes even slightly violent ones (not like me committing some sort of violence. Like, there's a bomb about to explode and you gotta get away sort of violence. I've dreamed that before). Other times I'll dream about people I know or have talked to (except for one time), and usually it happens 2-3 times. After the third time I usually share it with someone and ask what they think. They usually tell me I should pray for them. When I do, I feel better about it for sure.

Sometimes when I share my dreams with a friend, we can either have a good laugh, or we can be serious. But for me, sometimes it does feel good to get it off of my shoulders. :D

I don't typically share my dreams with others beyond a random "wow, you wouldn't believe the crazy dream I had last night" sort of thing.

1. The one time I really shared about a very disturbing reoccurring dream, I was prayed for, and I walked away feeling free and unburdened. The actual talking about it made me feel awkward.

2. I do have good dreams, or just normal dreams, but I don't remember them as easily.

I seldom have dreams worth sharing... Most are fragments and make no sense. The ones I do have and remember however are usually about about something stressful. Talking about my dreams is not something I normally do though.

1)Sharing the bad dreams that i have makes me feel worse. I rarely if ever will talk about those ones. I have no problem listening to other people share there's though. It doesn't make me feel awkward of anything.

2)I dream about things that are good, i really don't know how often.

Well! I couln´t get what you wanted here but, unsolicited I say I enjoy my dreams. I have heard many people´s dreams (and nightmares).

I have had pleasant ones (carnal ones too) and those I rightly enjoy and write down on my notebokks as those related or connected to God´s things.

If not derailing, I´d like to say this last one I had a month ago: I was in Australia. I was assambled with a coule of Cristians there and, suddenly, several "bad" guys appeared wearing their knifes and arms. that moment I said to myself: "I will be in troubles".

All the assambled there felt endangered. We were whorshipping GOD and these guys came in suddenly and I couldn´t see the face of the woman I was with, because I thought of hers, too.

To our surprise, those guys came in not to steal not to kill. They came in to receive Jesus, so they started to praise GOD the way we were, after showing their repentance, after setting away those arms we saw...

So this is one of those dreams I have enjoyed, because they come the way I know, and some have convinced me of the things I´m about to see, to meet and witness.

:)

i have weird dreams, usually. i seldom share them, but i've also had such casual admissions backfire.

for example, i often have people who are simply acquaintances of no significance appear in my dreams. i stopped telling people who showed up in my dreams when (several years ago) such a statement was taken to mean something far more than what it was.

we both served in a similar ministry and so we had spent some time together (among a group of others working together). i didn't have any feelings for him, but he later told me that his appearing in my dream was confirmation for him that he should pursue me.

how.terribly.awkward.

ironically, occasionally people close to me will also show up in my dreams, but i seem to have a lot of random acquaintances show up too.

i don't find that there is any consequence either way to talking about my dreams. when things are scary, i hate to dwell on it.

i used to have very awful nightmares, and during those days, i would do everything in my power to distance myself from those thoughts. even trying to tell someone would just be a rehashing of something unpleasant.

Before I came to Christ I was really into dream stuff, interpretation, and anything related to dreams including astral projection and the silver cord attached by your belly button thing and flying. I used to keep a dream journal and try to lucid dream. I never really got good at being "aware" in my dreams and was never consistent with the journal. I guess dream obession is an old idol of mine so I try not to think about them too much anymore. I probably went off the topic a little, though....sorry!

1. Yes I enjoy much talking with my friends about dreams. I find them to be very intriguing and I can learn a lot about a person from their presentation of their dreams, typically even moreso than they themselves are aware of.

2. I typically don't remember my dreams (if I even dream at all.) The dreams I do remember are not enjoyable.

I hardly remember most of the dreams I've had, even though I'm aware that I did have one. It's rare to have somewhat vivid ones and often it leads from one scene to something completely different.

When having 'good' dreams... I can't exactly remember when the last time I did. If they become too good then of course they end with me waking up and realizing this is the reality and not what I dreamed. :p It's disappointing in the end.

The types of dreams I have vary and now to think of it I only seem to get visual things than to hear much of anything out of them. Like what people would say or if there's sound effects sort of speak. Some felt like a movie was being played and I was taking part in the events.

I-can't- remember the last time I dreamed O_O

Anyway, I don't like to share them, I think it's sth really personal.
I just throw them in a diary and that's the end of the story...
