For example, years ago, I wrote a thread asking if the Titanic sank today, in what socialorder would people's lives be seen as worth saving? After reading about an American politician who publicly stated that when dealing with covid-19, the elderly should be sacrificed for the sake of the younger generations, I couldn't help but think of this as modern-day "Titanic." I scribbled an outline, and even bounced the idea off a few CC friends.

But back then, the polls were set up so that I could ask multiple questions in one poll, and since I haven't found a suitable way to present it (I want people to be honest, which means they generally have to have an anonymous way to answer,) so I'm holding off the idea for now. (Example: some people will surely say that that singles without children should be sacrificed before anyone who is married or has children, but they might only answer in an anonymous poll and not out in the open.)
Hmmm. I can't help thinking, whoever believes they are more oppressed would be murdering everyone else nowadays to get in first. The division and fights nowadays would indeed be murderous, they would be willing to kill to get into the lifeboats, with no remorse and with great indignation that they have greater rights than others. Btw, I don't believe someone should live over others just because they've lived shorter, a life of a baby seems preeminent to many compared to the life of a grandma. I don't buy that. I think that's a 100% human judgment, human in the "you think you know but actually don't know" sense. I don't think we can make that call.

If it doesnt take then it doesn't. some of my threads might have bombed but I dont think just cos nobody answers that nobody has read or thought about what I wrote.

I think the titanic idea is interesting. I posted something similar as a response to all this covid-19 thing but for me its more like Im in a canoe. My brother used to be abosolutely facinated by the Titanic tragedy and got every book and movie doco he could find about it.

Ive read two survivor accounts of the Titanic. one a second class passenger and one by a lady who was actually a servant on the tItanic AND the Britannic, and BOTH sank while she was working on them. It was said that women and children got on the lifeboats first, but we know from accounts that a lot of people didnt even know it was sinking until it was too late.
