...Joseph Smith had a beard. Muhammad had a beard. Nebuchadnezzar had a beard. Charles Manson had a beard. oh and John Calvin had a beard.
Joseph Smith did not have a beard, but Brigham Young had one.

Anyways, you should name the positive examples. Jesus wore a beard (but, no, He did not wear long hair), Paul wore a beard. All the disciples had one. Because they followed Christ. That ought to be our example.

PS. What people thinks "look" more or less "good" is irrelevant to the issue as such.

Lol tribesman youre hilarious. Very rarely do I see a guy with long hair and no beard and confuse him for a woman...if you have this problem perhaps you need glasses.

also still not convinced with your whole argument. What about a guy with a beard and long hair? is that okay? And looking good does matter to a point, unless of course youre okay with being alone.

I have (reading) glasses. Thank you. Seriously, it is more a matter of attitude than looks.

No, it is not OK. Paul was clear on that, and he cited the law. Long hairs would only be OK for nazarite purpose.

The "looks" thing is not unimportant when it comes to "matchmaking", but is not central to the issue we're talking of here. If it is to you then I guess we have nothing to discuss.

I've never really thought that guys with beards were all that attractive....then again guys without beards don't appeal to me either. :p

As far as looking younger, for some reason when I tell people I just graduated they ask what high school. Maybe I should grow a beard just to confuse them....

I tend to look a lot older with a beard got confused for 35 the other day, that was awkward. though the slowly growing more prominent white hairs probably helped

I tend to find groomed facial hair more appealing. Ultimately it doesn't matter because the external isn't all that important, but there's just something about it I like, haha.

I think it would be pretty silly to like/not like a guy just because of a beard. :)

I also think though that when guys don't groom their beards well, it can give the impression that they don't pay much attention to personal hygiene, which is extremely important to women. :) It would be comparable to a woman not routinely shaving her legs. :)

Just...wow...I want to say something, but I'm not sure what.. So I'll let you all take your pick.

Option one:
Does God look at the heart or the beard (or lack thereof)??

Option two:
Hi. I'm a shaver and God still loves me just as much as he loves bearded men.

Option three:
ZZ Top must be some seriously righteous dudes.

I was stationed over in Germany, when I was in the US Army, and you are bringing back some scary memories. I remember, seeing a woman, who from a distance look attractive, when I got close to her, she had more hair on her legs, than I had on my entire body:(. I know this is quite norm, over there but being from the US I was not use to it.

Beloved, if you're even reading this, I just wanted to tell you that my husband grew a beard to please me, because I liked it so much when he didn't shave on vacation, etc.
But...I fell in love with a clean shaven man. :)
Although it may be the initial physical thing we find attractive, women in general tend to care much, much more about what a man is like; who he actually is, how he treats us and others, his love for the Lord. (not in that order!)

Blessings!

ps- you probably can't see it in the pic due to the number of white hairs. I love that, too.

You husband reminds me of VA 6 Rep. Bob Goodlatte in that picture.

Thanks, if God permits me the honor of finding someone, I can go either way, but one post on here, and more importantly my job, have made me chose to shave. Because I go back and forth between a lot of fresh food departments at work, which change my mind about growing a beard, I hate having to put on our beard nets at work. But come winter in this neck of the woods beardon

I think beards are great. They usually makes the guy look so distinguished. It add a level of sophistication and it goes well with any attire, from jeans to a suit. However, a beard that is not well-groomed is not good it takes away from the man .It visually says a lot about him and his appearance if he is not well groomed.
