In that case, I clearly need to post a better picture, as Mark is really very handsome, even if it is I who say so. :)
(not to disparage Mr. Goodlatte. Merely that Mark is drop dead gorgeous. lol)

Pschomom, any married person who talks this way about their spouse is ................................................................................................

Totally Classy!
You deserve a Klondike Bar:D

The "looks" thing is not unimportant when it comes to "matchmaking", but is not central to the issue we're talking of here. If it is to you then I guess we have nothing to discuss.
I disagree. The purpose of this thread was for a man to find out what women thought of beards. So actually 'matchmaking' as you put it is THE central theme of why we're here. You just hijacked the thread into a debate.

*sighs* My response was about what me and others were discussing in these particular posts; about beards as such, bíblically speaking. It was not saying anything about what is the central theme of the entire thread.

Nonsense. And don't try. There will be no discussion about the discussion. I will give you no space to argue for the sake of arguing. Talk to the wall instead, if you want to.

I seem to get more attention without a beard than with one.

I don't like the kind of women I seem to attract with a beard. Its almost as if they don't expect me to have a personality. They just want me to look the part.

My fiance actually like me without hair or a beard.

Joseph Smith had a beard. Muhammad had a beard. Nebuchadnezzar had a beard. Charles Manson had a beard. oh and John Calvin had a beard.
Jesus had a beard too.

Isaiah 50:6
I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.

But for the record I don't like beards, but then again I'm not a girl. I think I wouldn't like them if I was a girl too. Hmmm..

Beards can be sexy when kept well and not feeling like pubic hair. I do not care for hair under the chin or on the neck. I prefer it be kept on his face and not strayed or straggly. :) My man is sexy regardless of his beard...as long as he treats me with love, dignity and respect.

As I've been reading this thread over the past couple of days, it hit me that I have no idea what my upper lip looks like.

I think the last time I was completely clean shaven was in my late teens, maybe early 20's. Since then I've always had my moustache, usually accompanied by either a full beard or at least a goatee although I haven't done the full beard for a while. It just doesn't look right with a shaved head IMO.

You know how women wear heels to impress other women? I always just assumed that men grew beards to impress other men. ;)

The law of God implies that men should wear a beard (see for example Lev.19:27). We are created thus and are to respect it, we should not follow the worldly "fashions" of our evil day with men shaving off their beards making them look similar to women. Looking older or younger is of less importance.

And do not worry about the women. Just walk upright. Because godly women loves bearded, godly men. Even among some non-christians, decent bearded men are popular among likeminded women:

Here some examples:

">

Lubavitcher couple

Sikh couple

Armenian couple

Jean Calvin, bearded reformator

"Judge" J F Rutherford, clean shaven false prophet
What about Asians that cant grow beards? I have stubble LOL, real thick but not very dense chin hairs.

Asian guys are perfect for the no-beard crowd, AO. ;) Don't have to shave everyday AND you always look clean-shaven.

My brother-in-law just shaved his beard for the first time in the 16 years I've known him. The effect was shocking. I've always viewed him as a very stern person - maybe even kinda cranky. Spending time with him without the beard, I noticed that he's smiling a lot more and seems much happier. I've thought a LOT about this because it's such a startling contrast to how I've always viewed him. I have a horrifying suspicion that he might have always been happy, and I never knew because I had never actually seen his smile. o_O
