Do you ladies like the shaved sides with comb over look? This is the style I’m going to do when my hair grows out.

As long as his hair is clean and kept nice. I prefer short hair but a little length is fine. Maybe up to the shoulders.
No man buns please! o_O
I like all hair colors.

I think it's crazy that some bald men or those with receding hairlines demand a woman with long hair...:rolleyes:

This is just me but I would assume all those guys are gay because that seems like such an out there haircut. :eek: I don't like it very much. lol
I'm pretty old fashioned so maybe that's what's "hip" right now. haha

As long as it isnt too long its a nice unique haircut. My nephew has this haircut and he looks quite handsome and not at all gay lol. Guess it depends on the guy wearing it.

I'm sorry! I hope my post was not offensive to those with that haircut. I'm thinking it's those guys in particular. Because I googled it and some don't look bad. ;)

Not offensive at all ! I definitely know what kind of fellows you're referring to. :)

You're back!!!

I finally read the Silmarillion. When I saw "Tinuviel" I smacked my head.

"THAT'S WHERE SHE GOT IT FROM!"

I have just one preference when it comes to hair loss. Shave off your biker ponytail when it gets thin at the top...oh no. Please, it will be a service to society.

I rather like short hair on men. At least no longer than shoulder length. if you can get it into a ponytail it is too long for my taste. Straight or wavy, but honestly it's not something I care much about.

Hey Everyone,

I had wanted to make a post in MegMarch's awesome thread about long or short hair, but I didn't want to distract from her topic.

And so, it seems only fair if we start the female counterpart of that thread. :)

When asked whether men prefer long or short hair on women, the overwhelming answer, hands down, was that men love long, flowing, silky tresses.

I have read this several times from various sources, and it always makes me nervous. When I was in my teens, I had a medical emergency that resulted in some complications, and when I finally recovered, my hair fell out by the handful for months, and never recovered its original thickness.

My hair is naturally straight, and ever since then, I have almost always gotten perms in order to try to "fluff out" my hair and make it look fuller.

I understand that guys are attracted to long, full hair. But what happens as women get older and their hair starts to thin? I have noticed that my hair gets a little thinner every year, and I've often wondered if/when the day will come that I'll have to get extensions or even a wig because I've always read that most men see women with short hair as being unattractive and unfeminine (and even un-Godly.)

Unfortunately, hair is something none of us can really control.

And so, I was wondering what the response would be to preferences for the length, and/or amount of hair on the men! :)

How do you all prefer a man's hair to be?

* Long or short?

* Straight, wavy, curly?

* Salt and pepper, or pure gray?

* Receding, thinning, or bald?

* If a man's hair gets too thin, should he just shave it off or rock what he has for as long as he can?

* How do you all feel about comb-overs? And how about if a man wears a wig or toupee?

I am not trying to sound critical in any way -- I'm just someone who is always pondering what we all -- both men and women -- think is "ideal", and how it actually compares to reality, and how (or if?) we will learn to compromise between the two.

Everyone is welcome to answer, and I'll be looking forward to your thoughts! :)
Awesome post!!

Pretty smile - check, pretty face - check, beautiful on the inside - check... Conclusion: Thinning hair is not an issue...

I'm not getting a pulse for a consensus here... May need to add a poll?

So what is the verdict here on the short, well groomed, thinning on top, salt & pepper sides and goatee look ???

Who's superficial? I haven't seen any superficial people here yet.

Now if somebody here (or in the thread about women's hair) said "Oh it has GOT to be this kind of hair, no question! I will never date anybody who has any other kind of hair.) then yeah, that would be superficial. But nobody has said anything like that. At least not yet... And if somebody did say anything like that, well good - the rest of us know who we should not date.

Personally the first thing I look at when I meet somebody is the eyes. A person's eyes usually give me a good idea what kind of person I'm talking to.

In the meantime, this thread (and the other thread about women's hair) asked our preferences about a very specific thing. So we have been giving those preferences. That doesn't mean if you don't meet the preferences it's a deal breaker. It just means they asked, so we answered.

Besides, a preference is just a preference. That doesn't exclude other things. My preference is dutch chocolate ice cream, but I'm not going to pass up black walnut if it is offered.

This thread reminds me of a Pickles comic strip. The daughter of the family finds out her elderly father uses bar soap on his hair. She starts trying to convince him to take good care of his hair.

https://www.gocomics.com/pickles/2016/04/14

Transcript for those who (understandably) don't want to click on links they see on random forum threads:

DAUGHTER: You wash your hair with a bar of soap?! No wonder your hair looks so dry! You need to use a good shampoo and conditioner, dad.
DAD: Why?
DAUGHTER: Why? Because then your hair would look nicer.
DAD: Why should I care about that?
DAUGHTER: Well, because then, uhh …
DAD: Stumped you, didn't I?

DAUGHTER: Dad, just because you're an old man doesn't mean you don't need to take care of your hair anymore. I mean, you want to look good for mom, don’t you?
DAD: With her bad eyesight, I doubt that she cares.
MOM: He's right, Sylvia. As long as he smells okay, I'm fine.

Morefaith, you seem like an "all's fair in love and opinions" kind of guy...

Therefore, I'm expecting you to pop into the thread asking guys their opinions about women's hair and declare all the men who answered to be superficial as well. :cool:

(No, I'm not saying men are superficial. I'm just saying, you can't say this about one group while leaving the other group lost and alone without your official assessment.) ;)

I might have missed the posts where most of the guys there said, "I can easily see past a woman with thinning, short, shaved, or no hair (after all, she might have had chemo) and fall in love with the ravishingly beautiful creature I see inside!"

Many kudos to Solemateleft and the other guys who do feel that way. :love:

BrotherMike, this is just me, but I really like the kind of hairstyle you pictured -- it kind of gives of an, "I don't care what people think, I'm going to go my own way" kind of vibe and I totally dig that, especially when it's someone who does the right thing and doesn't listen to any criticism he might get for it. :)
