He's not for real..........

He is not who/where/what he claims to be; it's all an act.

And he's now banned.
I hadn't noticed that he was banned until you mentioned it. I was going to ask him why he's using this site to look for a wife (which I don't like, by the way, I echoed Christianchick awhile ago when she said how tired she was of all the personal ads on this site. It's one thing to ask if there are singles in one's area that are interested in dating, but I think a general call for a spouse is unwise) if there are so few women on this site from India. Most people on this site are from countries where English is the most common native language. It's quite the long shot that there'd be a woman on this site from where he was in India. Now, I assume the answer is because he didn't want an Indian wife but rather an American or Canadian or British or whatever so that he could move there, because the line in India to get into those countries is very, very long. Or, if they don't want to move they might just send you an e-mail saying they want to visit you but they can't afford a plane ticket and you need to send them a few grand. And even when they are sincere about finding a wife, that doesn't make it wise. Like I said, my old Sunday School teacher married a guy who was from a culture where having a blond wife was a status symbol. She really thought his sudden proposal was a sign from God.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. You (especially young women) have to be really, really careful out there. I bet Christians are special targets because people can say things like "God told me to marry you" and they think we'll fall for that. Or "God's told me that you'll be a blessing in my life." I mean, that's happened to me a lot on dating sites and it's even happened to me on this site.

You know, I think we shouldn't be reluctant to ask questions to get to the bottom on someone's motives. If one is really a Christian than they won't mind answering them. I find that when Christians make a big decision that they've really thought through and prayed about they WANT to answer questions. It's like "Let me tell you all the wise reasons why I believe why God wants me to do this." If they respond defensively (as the member on this site who contacted me did) then that should be a BIG red flag. You know, we're taught to test everything and keep the good. If someone is really doing something from God, they're not going to mind having it put to the test. It may seem judgemental, but isn't it more important to protect your sisters in Christ???

Thank you for having the guts to ban this member!

Scam artists are really good at appealing to the darker side of human nature in Christians. Like if someone tells you God told them you'll be a blessing to them, that strokes your pride. Finding the right person can takes work, prayer and patience. If someone tells you that God already told them to marry you then you can just bypass all that. If someone tells you they're looking for a Christian in Canada to entrust with money (yes, I've actually seen an e-mail scam that says that) that appeals to our greed. If someone from a country of 1 billion tells a you you're better than the millions of single women there, well, that would also appeal to our pride.

I've spoken out against relationships formed on-line (as in you don't meet in person). I just don't think they're wise. When you're in different countries, that just makes everything more complicated. I've seen on-line relationships between Canadians and Americans go bad, imagine how much more complicated it gets when they're on opposite sides of the world. The guy who contacted me on this site got mad and called me a liar because my profile said I was unmarried but I have a boyfriend. Well is that a mistranslation or a cultural difference? Either way it's the tip of the iceburg. And I have a friend who met a guy on-line who's not a native English speaker. He doesn't understand idoms like "tip of the iceburg." The bottom line is, if you meet someone on-line, don't get too personal before you talk to them in person. That's my advice.

Furthermore, I'm one of those people who believes that God puts where we are for a reason. I really prayed about where I choose to live today. I believe that if God has someone for me that I will not have to move to him. If God is calling me to move somewhere else, that would be different, but right now He's calling me to stay put.

India seems like such a more interesting place to live with than the US or the UK. I wish I meet an indian girl and moved there, to a peaceful village instead of a crowed and noisy us city. And people of indian descent are sooo much prettier than anglo saxons. Not offence of course, I'm neither one.
My point is, if you're indian, dont' look for a wife here.

You don't think India is crowded or noisy??? Have you been there???? My dad's best friend was a missionary kid and raised in India. When he went back to visit he described that it was "crumbling under the weight of it's population." Basically their infrastructure has not kept up with their growth. I have a friend there right now. He was in the town where his dad grew up. He said it's the size of a small Canadian city (the city that he compared it to has maybe 50 000 people) but there's like a million people there. It's just incredible. If you want to move there I'm sure there's a lot of women who'd want to marry you. Although a lot of them have arranged marriages.
