Ah, first date. Or dates. Hmm... Okay, I had several first dates. Before I go on, you are supposed to have memorable first dates. Not to forget unless you are not going to marry him/her. Ha ha. My first date with each women I have dated were different. But the very first one was, ironically not memorable one. I was living at this Deaf school and you can not seem to get dates because you are living on campus and it just you see them all the time. So, in this case, I will turn a little right turn here.
My memorable date, not first date, was with this girl I was dating at the time during 1976--the Bicentennial year. My dorm group hosted a Valentine's Day dance with the girl's group (there were 4 boy groups, and 4 girl groups all grouped differently by grade/age) and funny thing was, NONE of the boys asked the girls to dance. Really! Literally all were sitting quietly and not even signing at all. They all were frozen in their seating. All of us 25 guys sit quiet and the 25 girls sit quietly too. Until the houseparent (old term for dorm supervisor we used) told all of us to dance! He was asking us to do something! Music was playing, all were sitting doing NOTHING! So, I said to myself in voice, "I guess I am going to ask my girlfriend to dance!" So, I asked her and she said, "Yes!" All this in sign language. We danced pretty much the rest of the evening. NO one else danced that night. The boys talked about us. So were the girls. We sensed jealousy in them.
Then the thing went down hill next day on. The teasing and picking on me.
And no, I did not marry her. Let just let me say this, she got caught a naughty thing that made me dump her. How sad! I was hurt.
And that was the ONLY true Valentine's Day date I ever had in during 20th Century! Only two females in 21st Century, my ex in Miami in 2002 and my ex-wife in last decade.
Memorable first date with ex-wife, I got clever with creativity of first date to be memorable. It works! How? Let me tell you all, do take her to do something special that she LOVES to do. Not the boring common dinner and a movie. Movie!? No.. not first date!! You need to talk with each other to get to know each other. If she loves baseball, take her to the ball game and dinner. That is what she loves.. my ex-wife. A dinner and a game to watch.
If she loves animals, surprise her by taking her to the zoo! Some one did the same--he works at the zoo as elephant keeper and he surprised her by saying, "I want you to meet a friend" She wondered why on first date you get to meet a friend! Should not but she got the "joke" when he brought her there after hours to meet his friend, the elephant he works with! True story! She knew this cuteness and awesome date she had with him showed her he was right man for her. Creativity can get you points to win a heart to marry someone.
If she loves cars, take her to the Nationals or car show like NAIAS or NY International Auto Show. If she loves racing, NASCAR... I could go on forever with this but you need to do is to do your homework on the lady you are going to have first date. I promise you you will thank God for my creativity and advice I gave you. Take her out to what she loves the most. It is unselfish of you to show her.. by showing love..
Please do that way, OK?
I WELCOME dating, not kissing goodbye!
