I feel like this thread has strayed from "Characters" to "Actresses"

There have been characters played by different actresses, such as Elizabeth Bennet.

I could count Aishwarya Rai and Keira Knightly as both being her, though if you know what they look like, they are very different.

Hmmm, I've not heard of this. I'm curious! I used to have random people say I looked like Julia Roberts, but I never saw it!
Julia Roberts? No. You're much better looking than her.

I'm not sure how to respond to that, haha. (She does have that wide, wide mouth...) :p
If it's a compliment, I'LL TAKE IT. Here, have some brownies!

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised." - Proverbs 31:30

Come one guys, quit focusing on the looks and talk about what you would want IN a woman. Not what she looks like or what actress she would resemble. What's the point in that if eventually they are all going to look the same. Wrinkly skin and white hair...
I think most women would want a Darcy because of the way he is, not for his looks.

I personally am not picky at all. I've never had a boyfriend but I wouldn't mind what he looks like. I just need to be comfortable around him and he needs to love the Lord. I want a guy who could lead me. I know this thread was geared toward men but I just thought I would answer :D

This was the strangest, most entertaining video clip I've ever seen, Liamson. Hahaa...

Okay, I need to stand up for the Bros here! For the most part, they have been answering according to the original premise of the thread. Men, by nature, are visual. PLEASE though don't define us by how the media portrays women. For the most part, men prefer "real women" and aren't persuaded by what fashion says is HOT. A significant faction of fashion is actually molded by gay men, and WE don't share the same tastes in women. :)

We are just trying to be honest. PLEASE don't criticize us when we are, or you will find us keeping our thoughts to ourselves and not wanting to share anymore. There are good men on this chat site as well as around the world. WE don't like being put into the same box as chavenists as much as you wouldn't like being characterized as "gold diggers."

Can't we all just get along? :)

I guess I'm just really REALLY surprised by what some of the guys on here were saying. It shocked me to see that most of you are pretty much the same as non-Christians when it comes to women. You value beauty just as much as the next guy. I'm not saying that's wrong but I just thought Christian men in general valued things like virtues or character more than physical features.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone. I was just trying to remind you all that beauty will eventually leave. I guess I didn't read the thread right but now I realize the question was which celebrity would you wife up right? Pretty much...
I am getting along, there's no need for you to even ask that. I was just pointing out my opinion. You don't like, too bad.

Grace pointed out that girls fall for guys in books and movies, so she made up a thread about guys who do the same thing. That's all. :) It wasn't meant to be a negative thing, just a fun thread.

I don't know how every guy thinks on here, but for me personally I'm not going to choose a life partner just based on looks. That'd be foolish.

I'm not cracking on to you, Grace but it's definitely meant as a compliment. Just like Julianna here is often compared to Nicole Kidman, again, only much better looking.

To others, it's sad that when a guy compliments a women it's initially seen as disingenuous.

I'm sick of the 'beauty is evil' mentality of many Christians. I don't see a problem with this thread. I mentioned Jennifer Lawrence because I think she's amazing and yes, for more than just her looks (or didn't you bother to read my thread). I'd love a girl that I could have deep conversations with, share my interests and faith with and just be stupid with. But I'm clueless, I've never had a girlfriend, so I tried to find someone who embodied many of the things I enjoy about women. Beauty isn't evil, nor is physical attraction. Personality trumps physical appearance, but to me, appearance is still important (and not evil).

Song of Solomon is full of references to beauty.

And I think appreciating beauty is different than lust. We all appreciate physical beauty. I haven't seen any lust here though. (Well, maybe the Selena Gomez guy, haha, but otherwise.)

Men and women are different, too... Men are more visual, while women are more about the emotions that characters evoke. (IMHO) So their answers aren't going to be the same as our answers.

That's great! I never said beauty was evil, if you read carefully you would notice that. I just thought most men here would value others things more than beauty is all. Of course we all value beauty, who doesn't? But I think in Proverbs God is telling us that beauty isn't everything. That's what I get out of it at least.
And I guess I overreacted because of the Selena comment and I didn't realize that the thread was actually asking for a character that you like so that was my fault.

BTW I don't have time to read every single thread on here. Since I wasn't replying to you originally I didn't think it was necessary. :) Sorry! I'll make sure to read it next time.

This is why I hate commenting on anything. it seems like with every comment I make I have to make a mistake and people get mad at me. I thought this site was going to help me but it's making me feel worse. No one on here wants to be my friend and whenever I give my opinion it seems like it's awful, stupid or wrong. I wish I could just take my life away right now.

No worries, PowerPuff! I think this was just a miscommunication, which has now been fixed. Stick around, this is a fun crowd. :)

Am I the only one who didn't see nothing wrong with PowerPuffGirl's post? After the Selena Gomez guy (that's his name now :p ) I understand her comment. And from my observation at least , it does seem that usually women are more likely to fall in love with a book character because of the character described in the book, than men. Maybe this is because men don't read the same books we do? Because they are more visual? I don't know. I'm not being a hater, but that's my observation.

Btw, it's true, miscommunications are common in the Internet, you shouldn't pay attention to that. Many times not being able to listen the tone of voice of a commentary makes us think that it is being said in a condescending or offensive way, when people are sometimes just giving their opinion poiltely.

Okay guys I don't think catwomen has anything to do with her "deep" character, and just everything to do with her suite??????
