Wait... if they think like one while trying to catch one, and then they turn into one accidentally, wouldn't that make them just shy of genius?

So kayem77 got me thinking about how women always tend to fall in love with certain characters in books or movies. (Mr. Darcy takes the cake I think for any classic reader, or Gilbert Blithe.) I wondered if guys do that. So men, what female leads do you tend to fall for?

...Mr. Darcy takes the cake I think for any classic reader...
Mr. Darcy is already married to Miss. Elizabeth Bennet; therefore, Mr.BananaPie is the only one left who can afford to marry BananaPie. :chuckles: :D

Yes - that's because you and NodMyHead are deeper than I am. What I said went way under your head. I can't even explain it well! See - I think women read a book or see a movie and get all into a guy because he has character, is loving, compassionate, good dad, high ideals, good virtues, listens, blah blah whereas men just want Catwoman. Really just a girl in the catwoman suit would be ok. And its because we're shallow.

Now what we might look for in a mate - a wife, at least for me, is her independence I think. Her ability to swim alone. And when I'm in that deep end I get in from time to time, I'd like to think she was a good enough swimmer to get me out - just like I'd do for her.

It's probably still not clear but now my head hurts.
I've not seen 'Catwoman,' but, I did like Michelle Pfifer in two movies, 'One Fine Day,' and, 'The Fabulous Baker Boys,' she was with a character that was cool in both, as I remember. She was caring in the former and sultry in the latter. I think, not saying that it's for everyone and not even seeing it's for me, I liked her acting more than anything else, but, yeah, I like a caring girl and I like a girl who is bold, I don;'t want to use the word 'sultry; again, but, that red dress..... But, yeah, Pfeifer was a nightclub singer in TFBB and she played the part very well, I thought.

But, personally, I want a girl like Jesus on Earth, that is, IF Jesus was a girl :) I would like her to be compassionate and merciful and a go-getter, just like Jesus was, and, let's not forget, sacrificial. Jesus did the latter very well, don't you think. :)

Note: I didn't understand what kentom said in first post about , well, I can't describe it because I did not understand it :D But, the 'Catwoman' post above made more sense, that is, IF I had seen Catwoman. I can assume she is a shallow character in that movie, like 'Isis' who was the superhero girl of 'Shazam' that I liked growing up but she had no character.

problem is too many women want a man to be identical to Jesus. Set your sights too high and you end up with nothing.

This picture shows a girl who likes what's being said, 'course, that's Jeff Bridges and that's Michelle Pfeiffer, and, that's The Fabulous Baker Boys. Sure, she can sing, sure, she can be sultry, sure, she can have nice hairdo and make-up and all that but it's the character of laughing at what I say that makes the MOST sense of all as MP seems to be laughing at something JB just said. OK :) :)

You make a very insightful point here, NiceShadeOfGreen. (Perhaps it's not so much about the girl herself, as it is about how she interacts with her guy.) Yes, a point well made.

I'm loving that you've read Bleak House! *beaming*
Yay! We should start a "what books are you reading thread." I'd spam the heck out of it. Actually I'm off to do just that.

And since it seems everyone is determined to enter the realm of pure fantasy and ignoring whether not she loves Jesus then:

Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1. But as much as I like Amanda Tapping as an actress, she's posed in some awfully revealing stuff (not on Stargate though) so I'd pass. Seriously the image search brings up the kind of woman I would NOT want to date, even though she's very attractive. She supports our troops though, and she makes a good director (I miss Sanctuary).

Ooooo, FUN!

Yeah, this is just more to get an idea of what TYPE of women men are attracted to, character-wise. And it looks like most men here prefer strong and dangerous women. That's probably a good thing. It probably shows that you all aren't easily threatened by strong women. Or some such.

She's adorable, both inside and out. :)

Excuse my blatant Phariseeicalism but doesn't this dangerously teeter towards covetousness or even lust? Not accusing anyone, just being a little cautious. Be careful :)

Carry on.

No more talking about food the food you like! That's gluttony!
No discussing that better paying job you want! That's greed!

Right?

Getting angry about it is like yelling at someone for caring. I even did it in a light hearted manner and still someone took offense. I guess this is how it is when you say something you feel you are supposed to that you normally wouldn't.

Who said I was angry? I did it with the same light-hearted mirth you did. *folds arms*
