This interests me. Do you know anything about this idea that once a woman is married, she doesn't have to try so hard to look a particular way because she has already settled down with someone who loves her? Commitment, I think ─ that's my question. Basically, do you think perhaps the reason is that it's less competition for her to "find love" and it's like a huge weight that's lifted off of her shoulders, thus contributing to a longer life, maybe? Only asking because I heard that somewhere else. Not my opinion/thought/idea. What do you think?
Perhaps a happily married woman lives longer because she is content with her married life and enjoys sharing her life with her husband. I agree that a married woman would tend to be more free in how she physically portrays herself because she is no longer competing with other single women for a man but she still would look very presentable to her husband.
It could be that certain single people want to share their life with the one of their dreams but after a few years they become disillusioned and start getting desperate. Yes, it could absolutely be a weight off a single woman, or a man also, that have finally found the one that they love and who accepts them for who they are.
