The celebration for the New Year is a bit carnal as well. I just wanted to be on the formal side of things. No worries :)
Ugh, tell me about it. One year our church youth group was in Pigeon Forge, TN (also known as Ye Olde Touriste Trappe) for a youth retreat of sorts. On New Year's Eve we decided to go up the mountain to Gatlinburg (also known as Ye Mega Touriste Trappe) to watch the ball drop. We got there and stood in a group in the middle of the crowd for a few minutes, but I had a bad feeling. Very carnal, very much a worldly party vibe. After about three minutes in the crowd the youth pastor said, "Let's go back to the hotel." Nobody complained or argued about it, we were just glad to get out of there.

So, I have nobody to call "my date" for New Years. I know it shouldn't matter, but I guess its just a personal thing to me to have someone to share the incoming New Year with me. I've been invited to several parties this year and I don't want just anyone to go with me.
My question is for those of you who do attend NYE parties as a single Christian:
Do any of you feel the same about New Years? (Single members, that is.) Or, do you go to New Year parties alone and it doesn't bother you?

I am struggling with going alone or not at all. I want to go, especially since I don't want to celebrate alone. Ya know?
Go and have fun!! Don't worry about what others might think.

Believe it or else... er, believe it or not, some believe they have to be with a partner, on a date, to have fun.

Someone was talking to (well, complaining at) me one day about how she was single, couldn't find a guy, life is no fun, she can't go anywhere and do anything because she doesn't have anyone to go with. I asked why couldn't she go to a movie by herself? She said "It just isn't the same."

Frankly I couldn't understand that, and still can't. I can have fun alone, with a group, with one person... fun is fun!
