Wish i had time to go thru the posts here, but since i dont, i'm just asking is there a page/portion where you specifically talk on dealing with physical pain, or other threads here. I tried search, but not finding yet in the moments i can check. I just hear about him. Thot i'd start a thread asking abt Dr. John Sarno, if anyone is familiar, but asking beforehand. If anyone knows or has been using his controversial but simple remedies, maybe please you can start for us, thanks.

Btw, info from the utube vid:
Dr. Sarno's most notable (and controversial) achievement is the development, diagnosis and treatment of TMS, which is not accepted by mainstream medicine. According to Sarno, TMS is a psychosomatic illness causing chronic back, neck, and limb pain which is not relieved by standard medical treatments. He includes other ailments, such as gastrointestinal problems, dermatological disorders and repetitive-strain injuries as TMS related. Sarno states that he has successfully treated over ten thousand patients at the Rusk Institute by educating them on his beliefs of a psychological and emotional basis to their pain and symptoms. Sarno's theory is, in part, that the pain or GI symptoms are an unconscious "distraction" to aid in the repression of deep unconscious emotional issues.

I have a bad headache today. In a couple hours I will be at work and I dread that. It is also drizzling outside. Not the best of days so far.

Twanging your head with magnets?
I can't recommend this type of treatment. Before activating the magnet pull mechanism the med tech injects iron filings in your cranial cavity. In some cases streams of brain matter can ooze out of one or both ears. Fortunately, the med tech carries a bunch of Q-Tips in his / her pocket to facilitate cleaning. This treatment may or may not restore normal mental awareness but you will be able to hear more clearly.

I finally get a couple days off from work after a exhausting series of days. Time for rest and relaxation. The pain has subsided. A new day has come. I thank God.

Pain....age.....sinful world and after our Indiana/Michigan trip my right knee has been bothering me.... It all started at the airport in the marathon to get from one gate to the next in Charlotte NC..... tourist is not very patient with me being thin and long legged... Me being height challenged and a tad (o.k. lots of tads) fluffy..... we made our gates coming and going on time, but my right knee is in rebellion now....I have put it in the hot tub and done some swimming and that does seem to help but I don't go and do it everyday....maybe I should..... Anyway that is my pain gripe for the moment.... I'll get over it or not....lol

At first I thought you were saying Indiana and Michigan were a sinful world. Had me a bit confuzzled there until my brain put the rest of the sentence in context.

I had insomnia last night and got zero sleep. I thank God that I don't have to go to work today. Right now I don't feel very good. My wife had a bit of a rough night too but fortunately she is able to sleep. Breakfast will be a little late this morning.

The past few weeks I have had a horrible backache. I'm going through off and on bouts of depression as well. Still, God is very good. Due to job requirements I have not been able to attend church but I had today off so my wife and I attended morning bible study and the church service afterwards. I believe that not attending church has led to my depression. We still have our daily devotions and bible readings and that seems to help a lot. I am most fortunate in that I have the love and devotion of my wife. God is Love.

Still have serious pain in my lower back. Time to take some more Advil. At least my head isn't pounding.

I got burned at work today by opening an oven door and not staying back to let the steam escape. It could have been worse, as it is I received a 1st degree burn on my lower lip but that should heal nicely in a couple weeks. You never know when you might get hurt or get a serious illness or even worse so it is best to stay close to the Lord and the one that you love. I'm going to be OK. I would like to thank anyone that prayed for me. I sincerely appreciate it. God bless everyone at CC.
