When people we're talking about random equations. I generally can follow randomness that doesn't start using words like hex equals....

Here's a good fact: I've read every single book in the Xanth fantasy series by Piers Anthony. There is 40 currently published.

Yesterday, I tried to go into a battle with no Pokemon. Here is one of my results:

I swear I'm normal.
...And I just now tried to heal that same empty party:

Now, I think I know why this happens, but I don't wanna blow anyone's brains up... :p

Okay, then...you see, I have no Pokemon, while healing them simultaniously. This confuses the game, because it's kind of like a paradox to own no Pokemon and heal them at the same time. This leads to an underflow in the hex value responsible for my party pokemon. Basically, the game just assumes that I have about 255 (hex: FF, the maximum possible value in these Gen 1 games) pokemon in my party, though almost all of them are probably garbage/glitch Pokemon. Yep...

The reason why the images get corrupted is that after placing six of my pokemon, the game doesn't know what sprite animation to use for the remaining 249 pokemon in my impossibly large party, so it instead gradually corrupts the entire screen as a substitute animation, sort of.

However, this little trick could also cause more serious damage to the game, as the corruption resulting from the sheer number of Pokemon being healed could also go beyond just the graphics, and corrupt more important parts of the game. The funny thing is, after Nurse Joy healed all of my 255 pokemon, surprisingly, the game told me that my...Safari Game...(?) is over. Suddenly, the game restarted and played through the opening scene with Nurse Joy's and my sprite still intact and visible. Afterwards, I pressed start and instead of the normal New Game menu, I was sent back to the Pokemon Centre and because of the excess corruption, I couldn't access my Start menu anymore.

Life is strange. :/

Oh, and sorry, Alayna...

Well, you're not wrong...my save file data has not been corrupted or destroyed yet...but I think that's only because of the magic of emulator save states.

You drive me crazy with talking about glitches and strange game stuff you know that!
why?
because I wanna play those kind of games with you but I can't,sob, but then again you sharing your glitches you have found is pretty close to the same experience I suppose, but now I'll probably be up all night thinking on all the glitches and cool strange stuff I found in games, even recently, for example in Dmc 3 I found out that vergil in a secret mission when you make him fall into the shaft of the elevator you can keep pressing triangle to make him do his mid air double slash infinitely until you stop pressing triangle,it doesn't defeat enemies but it still was kind of cool!
odd people like me find strange and cool glitches without even trying sometimes!
for example I found tons for mario 64,like the secret slide technical short cut,the first level gate by pass, bowser defeating himself if you throw him in the right area to come back up and hit a bomb, did it by accident once and laughed very hard!
Some things weren't glitches but handy to know like for example in many final fantasy games and many other games if you press select and start or l1 r1 l2 r2 select and start, you can go to the start menu automatically thereby by passing having to press restart if a game is not going your way and prefer a speedy way to try again from a save point, also one more strange thing if you "dare" to try it,in certain games certain cool things can happen when you open a manual open(non electric) system lid, such as ps1 or gamecube, such benefits include, for final fantasy 7 if you open the ps1 lid while using regen on a character the effect will heal your character or characters while your enemies can't attack you, though against super strong enemies you can still lose despite this trick,or in animal crossing if you open the gamecube lid while playing it you can hear the original song if you open it supposedly when the monkey train conductor appears on the screen,(tried it a few times since I have, can't tell a difference)
And even cooler than some of this if people "didn't already know" ps1 games have a rather "unique secret" some of the games have "songs" that if you either put them in a cd player or click cd on ps1,or ps2 you can listen to,theme songs or even songs that you didn't notice in the games, well guess I'll try to get some sleep, hope this doesn't keep any game fans up tonight, maybe lol!
