Positive Outlooks

I spent an hour in the bank with my dad, as he had to transfer some money. I couldn't resist
myself and asked...
''Dad, why don't we activate your internet banking?''
''Why would I do that?'' He asked...
''Well, then you wont have to spend an hour here for things like making a transfer.
You can even do your shopping online. Everything will be so easy!''
I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.
He asked ''If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house?”
''Yes, yes''! I said. I told him how even groceries can be delivered at your door now and how amazon delivers everything!

His answer left me tongue-tied.
He said ''Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted awhile with the staff
who know me very well by now.
You know, I am alone...this is the company that I need.
I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave.
Two years back, I got sick. The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside
and cried.
When your Mom fell down a few days back while on her morning walk, our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.
Would I have that 'human' touch if everything became online?
Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer?
I like to know the person that I'm dealing with and not just the 'seller'. It creates bonds of Relationships.
Does Amazon deliver all this as well?'''
Technology isn't life..
Spend time with people .. Not with devices.

Amen to this. If only the world wake up and realize this we would all be better off.

I've yet to find out why.

Paul had to find his too. For a while he was full of good intentions but totally misguided.

I haven't had a bright light shine on me on the way to McDonald's, so I have to find my own.

"Ours is not to reason why..."
I beg to differ. I'm sure Billy Graham knew why he was on this earth. Paul likewise knew his purpose.
I was quoting a line from the poem - Charge Of The Light Brigade in response to 'potentially profound thought' of Mark Twain aka Samuel Clemons.

What is the point of an auto corrector if it just screws up everything you write??

Is philosophy really the study of great thoughts of really just the study of guys names phil??

Every man dies, but who ever really learned to live?

Why do people use the saying "every cloud has a silver lining"? In an optimistic way?? Do they not realise in the midst of that silver lining is a thunder storm waiting to road and pour down on you??

If theology is the study of theories, than does theology still exist when you stop learning??

If your constantly digging to find the brilliance of the human mind, how far do you have to go before you got insanity??

From what I have observed, most of the time you can't keep them from jumping in the metaphorical river. People gonna do what they want to do. Usually all we can do is stand ready to pull them out once they realize they don't really want to be there.

You can't tell a drunk to quit drinking until he's tired of his life and wants to change it. While he's happy with it, he wants to stay with it. When he's beaten down by it, when he finally realizes he's not going to be able to keep it up indefinitely, THEN he's ready to listen to something about a better way.

Yeah it sucks, but that's just the way it is. Or at least that's what I've seen.
