Considering your longevity, continual positive (albiet blunt) contributions, and overall presence here, I'm sure Robo could make it happen. I mean, you CAN make it happen by shuttering one account and starting another (much like Rose did at one point), but I think the stats under your name/avatar say an awful lot about the kind of person you are and who we all see you as, and I think you should get to keep that stuff. Can't hurt to ask, man.
Thanks. But there is first a $5 fee, and i'm tight on money. And to do a name change is to have them delete your old account and start you with a fresh one.

alphaomega -- Is apologetics important to your faith?

Sure, its something that I think we all should have in our lives. We should speak out about our beliefs and share them with non believers. PS- had to look that up, thought it was being humble in wrongdoing (like apologizing)...guess I learned something

Sooo... question for everyone.

1) Who is your favorite sports athlete?

2) What are you most proud of in life (besides God of course)?

3) Flip flops or sneakers?

4) What is something about yourself (or story) that you would like to share with the rest of the world?

Oh yes, I should include my answers

Sooo... question for everyone.

1) Who is your favorite sports athlete?

2) What are you most proud of in life (besides God of course)?
Being able to serve the country. Also serving at a national alert facilty to scramble jets (which one of our pilots nearly had to shoot down a stray jet coming from the Caribbean)

3) Flip flops or sneakers?
Flip flops

4) What is something about yourself (or story) that you would like to share with the rest of the world?
One year (as a 12 year old) I spent the summer trying to better myself. That summer, I learned to juggle, walk on my hands, do front handspring, pogo stick, make farting noises out of my armpits (hey i thought it was a talent), turn my eyelids inside out, and I learned how to keep myself busy to say the least .

See, that's the sort of information that I already have! I was wondering what you do specifically. Because technically, people might think that we are preppers. We do the gardening and canning thing. We try to do as much off-grid as possible...we are trying to get meat goats...and such. BUT, it's purely for fun and to be self-sufficient, not because we think the government is going to lock us in concentration camps and take over the world. Or are they.....?
By fate as it were, I operate in a more self-sufficient way. Only, to claim I'm self sufficient is a complete pipe dream. I began not eating meat some time ago but it's not like I'm vegan; I eat a lot of dairy products and eggs. I'm really just eating more whole foods and growing some of it and keeping as much as I can - most of that with freezing instead of canning (so you can see that kinda breaks the rules). I live in a rural area and on an older farm with several acres but it wasn't used that way for years. I only have a handful of chickens and no goats. I've never like mullion or any kind of goat meat except lamb and pretty sure I couldn't bring myself to slaughter a lamb so never been attempted. I don't even use the chickens for meat - just eggs. They slow down production after about 2 years so then you're faced with having to do something with them (the old adage there - if you lay, you stay). Really - the big challenge for me is power. Where do I get alternate power. I've done SOME things but hardly make a dent in what I consume really. So right now - I'd have a difficult time off grid like everybody else. i'm fair on water. Some of the best water ever comes out of the well (very low mineral content - it's like the Jack Daniel water they brag about down in Lynchburgh) and I pump an alternate for irrigation on the garden.

I will say one more thing - (and this is where the crazy is and how preppers get their name). I don't think of being "self-sufficient" as a preparation for end times or even for fun or as an alternate life style. I really believe it's the way I'm supposed to be. The reason is - I think God made this planet of ours in a perfect way. He provided us the Garden of Eden and we were designed to live off the herbs He provided. Now - since then, since mankind ate from the tree of knowledge and began to discern, we lost our innocence and so did the world. The roses began to have thorns, the tempting red berries became poisoness and we caught and domesticated animals of the field and consumed them. It's not really by accident we destroyed this perfection God provided. So in a way - I feel like the very least I could do now is to try to break even somehow. To ensure that I'm making an attempt to not live life in such a cradle to grave mentality - a consume then destroy and trash lifestyle. It seems un-godly to me to consume a thing and not ensure its rebirth through the natural cycle. So it's not really preparedness, it's more like maybe a devotion? Idk.

1) Who is your favorite sports athlete? Whaaa....? People play sports?! How very strange!

2) What are you most proud of in life (besides God of course)? My marriage surviving what it has, my babies, getting my GED when I was 23, aaand...my amazing baking skillz. Except when I burn stuff accidentally. Then I'm like, "Wow, who made THAT charcoal mess?

3) Flip flops or sneakers? Flip flops, almost all year.

4) What is something about yourself (or story) that you would like to share with the rest of the world?
My coffee pot is right next to the microwave, and on top of the microwave is where I keep the baby's formula and bottles. I just went to get my first cup of coffee, and instead of putting creamer in, I put a scoop of formula in the cup. And poured half a cup of coffee before I realized. I've done this before. I don't know what is wrong with me. I should sleep more, or something.

Please allow me to ask. :)

What is the most important for you to have, your dream job but has less compensation/benefits or other job that will give you high compensation/benefits. Why?

thanks for sharing your opinion.

I only have a few minutes and I've only read a few more posts than I had yesterday, so I'll just start where I left off and type more later (my posting habits are generally like this).

Oh, and first of all, one member saw what I had asked him, but PM'd me the answer, as he didn't want to keep watching the thread due to not being on here a lot, so, thanks, you :).

Decyple, I think I'm remembering the correct misspelling of your screen name now; it occurred to me yesterday after I logged out "wait, I did a boo-boo on his name, I think". Are you going to start another "Canada versus the world" thread over the mistake? If so, can the US have a head start because we're so out of shape that it'll take us a long time to catch up?

Ken/Thomas, I'm surprised that you're surprised that I would ask you that, Mr. ... um, I can't think of a good name. But since PopClick said that because of one of your posts, you would have to be friends with her, what does that tell ya about exploding toilets and the like? Oh, and I erased the rant I typed up about the kid nearly pointing the gun at this dad instead of using precautions for safety like I was taught to do when learning gun safety. So, thank you for the video *faints dead away*.

*revives to continue typing*

Amiee, I'm sorry to read that about the Lupus :(. I've met a number of people with it, and they seem to generally do rather well, as far as medical problems go. I know a little bit about it, not much. I was trying to decide what to put, and it occurred to me that what you said about the finances is the same about medical issues; Jesus is there, so it's a whole lot easier to deal with problems when you have Him :). I assume that stays on your mind, since you didn't seem wrecked by the tentative diagnosis *high 5s and hugs* :). I love psychology as well; I hope that goes well for you.

I'd better scoot now; bblLw, peeps.

* I would choose my dream job & not have the benefits or compensation than that of a higher paying more secure job that I disliked. Plain & simple. Money isn't everything. It helps,sure...but in the long run I'd rather be working 40 hours a week someplace that made me smile or I looked forward to being at & working on a project I loved or had great interest in than come home miserable & drained from a job that was lifeless, dull or irritating. Then again,I am no longer married,so I only have myself to consider in this choice.

Good to see you around the singles forum, Fourleaf. :)

I'd rather have a dream job with fewer benefits. I would never have to work, I could play all the time, as play is work you enjoy doing.

Question for you, Fourleaf. What are you a student of? (Your profile says student, and I am curious.)

Grace-Like-Rain: Might I inquire as to a general area of Texas you are in? You don't have to post it publicly. Or even answer, I suppose. Just curious.
I'm in a town located between Dallas and Shreveport, La. So, East Texas. :)

Your kidding right? I think that if she doesn't mention Texas in every post that she might explode. It actually may be a law in Texas. What do you expect from a state that builds a football stadium with a hole in the roof, just so God can watch his favorite team? The Dallas Cowboys. How about them Cowboys!
Hey! I've only mentioned it in threads that specifically asked people to talk about their home state.

Exactly! There's a reason i don't use Twitter. Either to read, or to write on. Because no one should be that interested every time i use the toilet or walk to the fridge or every minute thought that crosses a my mind. And i certainly don't care about them doing the same.
