I'm still upset that they never explained that Neville or Harry would have fulfilled the prophecy. I think it was important enough to at least be mentioned.
Me too! Actually I'm upset about a lot of things they didn't show, lol. My friends always used to ask me about the movies after watching it. I was like the Harrypedia:rolleyes: I was likee wow, I can't believe I'm such a HP freak and I'm actually explaining the whole movie to my friends lol.
With this last moviee I was disappointed because they didn't explain much of Dumbledore's past and I thought that part was very interesting. And also some other scenes of the book that I would've liked to see in the movie. But for the rest, the movie was entertaining and good. I liked it and I think you will too :)

I don't care for movies in general. Mostly a book person.
Worry about the influence of these books on younger readers. Six of one half-dozen of the other. smells wrong.
I would LOVE it if someone on OUR team would start a series about a hero, a small group of people, a school, a secret community around the gifts of the Holy Spirit as revealed in the Bible. Why should the other team get all the "cool stuff PR".

I'm an HP fanatic.

I actually had midnight premiere tickets (bought them a month in advance), but then I decided against it. I've yet to see it.
I'm attempting to postpone the end of my childhood. Lol
Harry himself did that...it took him ten years to get through seven years of school.

I must admit when Harry first started out, I did see most of the movies. They were simple children's films that had silly little magic tricks much like a Disney movie. But as we have grown older together, as Harry and I are about the same age, Harry's magic/witchcraft has gotten much darker and quite scary. There are just certain things I don't want in my mind. Though it's just a movie, there are people out here who really do practice witchcraft.

I have watched a couple of them, and I don't remember which ones. I guess they didn't impress me enough to remember them. I won't be going to see this one, and probably won't see it when it comes out on tv. Even though I find the movies to be quite harmless they are just not my thing.

I though they did though. The prophecy was completely fulfilled by both Harry and Neville at birth. Either one of them could have been the chosen one. But don't forget the other part of the prophecy where it says 'He will mark him as his equal' Voldemort marked Harry thus making him the chosen one.

I find it rather distressing that so many on here seem to find this kind of entertainment ok and acceptable. . Magic and witchcraft is a thing of the devil and however you dress it up you are watching the DEVILS mind conditioning and allowing evil to 'look cool'.
To hear so many brothers and sisters here accept this as harmless and to admit to being big fans. . makes me sad. .

What fellowship has darkness with light. to watch these and pay to see them imo funds the devils kingdom. . I would rather folks tithed and were seperate from this kind of satanic propaganda. . but there it is. .

Diluted Christianity is global and knows no bounds it seems :(

THIS was for you:

Shame we trade this in the name of entertainment. .

Harsh yes. . but its about time believers acted like believers.. just my tuppence worth.

They are a Christian Allegory: written by a born again Christian

Read here: Narnia symbolism and meanings

However Harry potter is no such thing.

As far as Narnia goes I apprecitate the christian undertones but I am not a fan of the books/films as it goes toomuch mythology involved even for the underlying message for me.

I am not a purist but I dont personally like certain things.

Blatent occultic tales like HP which have a wide appeal to christians do my head in .

Stephanie Meyer is the mormon, J.K. Rowling is Episcopalian.
It helps to know your facts.

Sorry was thinking of the twigliht writer. . in any event JK Rowling is not a born again and if she is show me your proof if it, I would be disappointed if a believer wrote such dark, occultic fantasy. Do you think Jesus or one of the apostles would have penned such material?

No. me either. .

Do you think they would have gone to the Odeon to watch them with a bagfull of popcorn, sweets etc .. .no . . me either.

Do you think we should then?

I'm definitely seeing it. It's refreshing that they actually took their time with this movie to tell the story rather than rush the whole thing like they did with movies 5 and 6. Also I'm a HUGE Alan Rickman fan and I loved Snape so of course I'm going to watch him play that grumpy professor one last time.

Which equates to Anglican church over here in the UK. . the Church of England - which is the anglican church is so seeped in wrong doing and anti bilical practices. . well I should be carefull. . so I will say no more. .but as brit let me tell you I have no faith in the church of England. it tries to be all things to all faiths all the time, allows gay priests but says gay weddings in their buildings will allow inconsistencies. . sheesh. . this is the measure of the C of E. .and thats just the surface

I know about the whole Narnia thing, that's why I pointed it out.
But the question is, would you have seen it if no one mentioned that to you?
No, it would just be witches, and evil and mythology OH MY.

What if someone pointed out that HP was a Christian allegory? Not that I agree, but...

Back to what I said before, take away the Christian themes you were notified of in Narnia, and it's pretty dark and occultic too, right?

I don't know, Jesus might not have been to big on popcorn. I bet it would have been a pain to deal with back then...

The davil can quote scripture too. .

Just cos she say a thing does not make it right..

As for Narnia I saw those BEFORE I was a christain. . I mean I read the books as a young lad . I was told after they were christian. .
I come from an occultic background I used to practice magic arts and got saved the night I was plannng to sel my soul to satan. . so i know a little about the power of these things.

Each person has their own convictions. We can not tell anther person what they should feel or think about anything. If we were all the same then we would be boring. God is the only one who can place conviction in our hearts.

Yes, those movies do have a certain portrayal of witchcraft and other evil things that is deemed unacceptable to some. However, as a person who does not have the temptation to want to live that kind of lifestyle I only see them as they are a form of entertainment. Now someone who does have a past that dealt along those lines would find it hard to watch those kinds of movies because of the temptation to follow that kind of lifestyle. That is why they feel convicted about watching certain movies.

So, just because someone feels convicted about watching those kind of movies, doesn't mean they can try to force their convictions on others.

Sorry for the rant. I am just fed up with everyone trying to tell others what they should think.
