"Punch" and "slap" are two completely different levels of violence. Which one did you do to the man?

Also, I know it was to stop the harassment, but you should really not considering hitting men that way. Men are ever increasingly hitting women back. So one day you may hit a man to stop X, and he may just lay you on the floor. I think you would of better approached that situation by just walking away.
I'm not really a violent person. Even growing up I never initiated any physical violence with my siblings. I was once painfully groped by a man and my automatic response was to backhand him. He pulled back his fist to hit me and was stopped by two other men.

The idea that a woman should just "walk away" seems like a free pass to harassers. Surely there can be a better societal response on behalf of womankind than "make yourself scarce, and small, and quiet, and unnoticeable and maybe the meanies will leave you alone....if you're lucky."
