I started posting in the singles forum because everyone was so nice here. I started out in the Bible Discussion forums and almost left because I didn't like it.

I have started Threads in the singles forum, lighthearted threads. Other than Buckets/Alexis, the only other teen I see in here is Lil Christian, there might be others I have missed. I also haven't seen to many offensive things. If they were terribly offensive then I'm sure they were deleted by a Moderator.

I understand what your saying Gary, but I agree with Wisebeardman more.

Considering that the issue has been put to bed, why are we still arguing about it?

Personally I think that anyone should be able to have their say. It's equal that way, regardless of what the subject is.

Can we limit it to women ages 23-34, preferably with hair chin length or longer, who live in the southeast USA, with great eyes, and who like to read, watch movies, like having a man that cooks, and enjoys outdoor activities like camping and disc golf? Oh and myself...

those should be the only people allowed in here

heh its going over your head, you fail to miss how forums end up working no matter what ever forum it is, certain groups will center around certain forum cats (category). those become the regulars of the cat. the regs run the show in that cat. ITS LIKE THAT ON EVERY FORUM ON THE INTERNET!
Think of forums cats like channels on a cb radio. certain groups hang on certain channels.

"No collective set of members may "lock themselves in the Singles Forum 'room' and declare sovereignty over the 'room' and make demands about how they are treated or how the 'room' should or should not be utilized"..."

You keep saying how everyone should go here and post or go there and post. ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. (believe me when I say this I have been owner of websites and moderator/admin at other sites) forums take on a personality defined by the regs. Singles has regs just as every other cat on this forum has regs. its not going to change no matter how much you wish it to. I mainly post in Singles. why? cause I find it most pleasing. when outsiders who never post here come in here voting in a poll which could very well alienate some people we in singles like, we get miffed about it.

Like it or not, the regs here have "locked themself here" and not much is going to change that. I get you want to make things "better" but trust me I am not an Idiot and I know how forums work and they do end up with a personality. and when and outsider tries to disrupt that personality bad things happen.

The worldly clique mentality cannot understand the deeper things... :(

I understand that a forum can "develop a personality"; I do not have a problem with the idea.

However, that is not at all what I am talking about...

Meanwhile the self righteous pharisees will always think themselves deep and above the others.

Whether my point is valid or not, the situation has been resolved. :)
The current on-the-surface "issue" may have been resolved, but the at-the-core obstacle is still here - lurking in the shadows - waiting for the next oppportunity to "rear its ugly head"...

;)

How is it such an issue? How is it such a big deal and so incredibly wrong?

Come on, now. It's only an ugly situation if you let it become an ugly situation.

I am sorry, but should children be playing in an adult world? NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Talking for friendship, to have a say, etc. is available in the teen area and is not geared to adult singles. When you are considered a child in the eyes of the law then we have to honor that law as the Apostle Paul wrote. What does a child want to mix with old people in a single area? 16 and 17 year olds will be adult soon enough. If you want some advice from an older person stick to your gender will meet that goal. So, yes, wisdom speaks for the restriction

Not about bowing down to the cliques. You guys want to get rid of a certain age group. I happen to be part of that age group. People happen to like me posting in here. And even though Robo already said that since it wasn't creating any real issue he was going to leave it alone, we still want to debate about something that's already been settled? We're making mountains out of molehills. I'm gonna leave it at this.

Is there a better answer than scripture?

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

ChristianGirlLivingLife -- this was not directed at you - in response to your post. I was only "borrowing" from what you said to make a point. I actually agree with the spirit of your statement.

I just wanted to make sure you understood...

Youre just mad you would be allowed in. Pshh 6 more years.

And now that Im 30...i think the range should be 23-37, might as well be an equal opportunity for those in their 30s. And 7 years seems good.

Not about bowing down to the cliques. { Yes it is darlin' - in more ways than you realize... } You guys want to get rid of a certain age group. { Not me --- go back and re-read my posts with regard to this "issue" VERY carefully... You might be very pleasantly surprised at just how much on your side of this "issue" I really am. ( but, strictly "circumstancially speaking" --- and, you will only understand fully what I mean by this if I ever actually get to finish posting my thoughts on the subject... ) It is a complex issue. And, I am quite sure that I never even once indicated that I was against you. What I am against is some of the whiney excuses given in full I-have-an-agenda episodic drama fashion. } I happen to be part of that age group. People happen to like me posting in here. { I have never really had a problem with it. In fact, I have enjoyed reading many of your posts. And, I enjoy reading your posts and interacting with you in any forum - not just the Singles Forum. Some people talk like a crime has been committed against them if they have to lift-a-finger and tip-toe-themselves-over-to-another-forum to read something you posted. It's no problem for me... } And even though Robo already said that since it wasn't creating any real issue he was going to leave it alone, we still want to debate about something that's already been settled? { I am not debating it. I consider it settled. And, "under the circumstances" - I believe he made a very good decision. } We're making mountains out of molehills. I'm gonna leave it at this.
