Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved, other than Jesus Christ. Yeah, you come here telling us how tolerant you are like everyone else who looks down their noses at Christians. There is nothing new under the sun :) You have been very hostile but I guess you do not see it.
I wasn't looking down my nose at Christians. I came here and asked questions very respectfully because I valued your opinions, until you started questioning and attacking mine. I have simply stated that there are things in the Bible I just cannot agree with, and therefore it would be a lie for me to say that I could ever be Christian. I cannot believe in a God who would punish someone for their sexual orientation. I cannot believe in a God who would threaten eternal hellfire to those who he also "loves" at that the same time. I cannot believe in a God who tells men that it's okay to beat their wives into a subservient role. And there are many other things that just do not sit well in my stomach, no matter how it's interpreted or justified.

Oh really? So you did not tell another poster you hope they learn to think for them self BEFORE I ever addressed you for the first time? You are being dishonest, and you came here prepared to condemn Christians for their beliefs, while believing yourself to be tolerant and open minded. You simply show yourself to be deceived. Telling you the truth is not attacking you.

Yes, because I was referring to the lgtbq community issue that was being discussed. I feel that people should think for themselves about how they feel towards alternative lifestyles. I never said that Christians can't think for themselves.

Another of your self deceptions.
… I hope that one day you can think for yourself too.

Good! Neither can we. So don't become a Moslem. :)

You think Christians do not think for themselves... but in your own mind, you do! You believe yourself to be tolerant and open minded compared to Christians, which is looking down your nose at Christians. You do not even see what you do. If you cannot see yourself clearly, there is no way you are ready to repent and believe, but I would encourage you to keep seeking, and actually be tolerant and open minded, and not just deceived into thinking you are when really you are not.

Yes, in regards to alternative lifestyles, which is what was being discussed in the thread. As I have stated before, I cannot believe in a God who threatens eternal hellfire, just because someone loves someone of the same sex. Love is love. Everyone's relationship with God is personal. Someone can be gay, and also be a wonderful human being who contributes to society...what a concept. I would think that the good things they do in their life would trump the "horrible sin" of loving someone of the same sex. But again, that opinion is obviously not a popular one here. One of the reasons I joined this forum is because I wanted to see if there were Christians out there who do accept LGTBQ people. I wanted to prove the churches wrong (who have turned away my friends).
I got the answer...loud and clear.
I am done talking about this with you.
Have a nice day.

The Bible does say that if a woman disobeys her husband he can pick up the rod and beat her, does it not? I'm not a bible thumper so I don't know the exact verse, but I do remember reading it.

You cannot have a personal relationship with God outside of Jesus Christ. You know, if churches turned away sinners, the rooms would be empty, and there would be nobody to preach to. You do not even know my views on homosexuality but you are done talking to me about it? Haha. Okay. There's your open mindedness again ;)

I wasn't talking about your views on homosexuality, I was sharing what my friends (and many of their friends, and so on and so on) have experienced when trying to attend church, when reaching out an asking for help, etc... You're reading what you want to read in my words. You're making it personal, when I wasn't even originally addressing you, I was replying to someone else.

"You cannot have a personal relationship with God outside of Jesus Christ". Right. Okay, and that's because you've been told this? So people of other religions don't have a personal relationship with Creator, because Christianity (one of many religions) says so. Riiiiiight. And I'm the closed minded one here. LOL

Again, I am asking nicely if a mod could just delete my account. I asked it about 100 comments ago, and I'll ask it again. I regret the moment I thought it would be a good idea to join a Christian forum. LOL Lesson learned!

When you are quoting me and addressing me and saying you you you, yes, I take it personally. But I am not offended by what you say, having spent many years talking to people just like you on other sites. Your views are typical: you present yourself as not looking down your nose at others when that is exactly what you are doing. YOU are so open minded and YOU are so tolerant. LOL. You are not, really. You simply embrace as being acceptable that which Scripture condemns, and condemn those who accept what Scripture says about homosexuality. Whether gay people are in the church or outside the church, we are called to love them regardless :) That does not mean with holding truth from them.

If I wasn't open minded and tolerant, why would I have joined this forum asking honest questions? I made my introduction, and was greeted rudely. I expressed my interest in learning about Jesus, and I was greeted rudely. I asked honest questions about why so many Christians are so against LGTBQ people, to which I was replied to rudely. Question for you: have you joined any Pagan and Wiccan forums lately to ask their opinions and views on societal issues? I'm going to guess the answer is no. At least I tried and I gave people the chance to answer me honestly. The hostility from my end was shown when I was greeted with snobbery and a holier-than-thou attitude.

And there is your snobbery and holier-than-thou attitude. As a Christian, I was a member of a secular community for years before I got here, but if you want to pretend I have more hours in a day to devote to social media than I really do just so you can condemn me some more, have at it. You claimed you are being drawn to Jesus Christ. Is that not why you came here seeking answers from Christians? I am not likewise being drawn to pagan and wiccan views. I was called OUT of those things. But your deception in thinking you are open minded cannot allow for such a possibility, can it? No, you must assert your superiority at every turn ;)

Now that I have figured out how to turn notifications off completely, I will bid you farewell. May you keep the wonderfully open mind you claim to have, and educate yourself about other religions that billions of other people around the world practice. May you realize one day that your truth, isn't everyone else's. Blessed Be.

You want your truth to be ours. That is the crux of your blindness, hypocricy, and deceit.

Never said my truth had to be yours. I never posted novels of quotes from books or religious text, did I? I never even stated what my beliefs are, as there are many beliefs within the Pagan sphere. But being educated on world religions, I'm sure you must know that. I'm definitely not blind, definitely not a hypocrite, and definitely not being deceitful. Not in the least. Not apologizing for anything, as I have said nothing wrong here. If you want to continue telling people they are going to hell because they love whom they love, that's your bag...not mine. And I'm glad it's not. Peace out.

You are pushing what you believe as being superior and then turning around to pretend you do not look down your nose at people who do not hold the same views, telling us you have been attacked and treated rudely because people answered your questions. You pretend to know what I know and then say you are not being deceitful. When have I told people they are going to hell? You probably do not even know what hell is.

Never said it was superior. Just stating facts. I can't help what the facts are, which is that what I believe in was what my ancestors believed in long before Jesus was even born. But I guess everything before he came into existence, never happened, and doesn't matter. And by the way, I attended a Catholic school for 12 years. I'm well aware of what "hell" is.
