This coming Saturday I am going to the lake with my sister, her husband, my friend, and two of her friends.

I do not have a swimsuit and I do not plan on buying one. I also do not have any shorts. I'm not even sure if my capris got packed...

So, it may have to be exercise pants and a tank top as my "swim suit". My excuse will be that I just don't have those clothes and I'm not going to buy them. They don't need to know the real reason. Even though I probably draw just as much attention wearing PANTS to swim as it would as it would be to just wear shorts and bear my chubby, white, scarred legs (I'm not being mean to myself, it's a fact)...I refuse. I will try to have fun regardless.
Good for you Rachel. Where whatever you are most comfortable in and don't think a thing about it. I'm glad you're not going to let anything keep you from swimming and having fun. Lakes are "anything goes" sorts of places anyway right?

I just had to delete a long-time online friend from FB because of the way she's becoming. She's completely intolerant to other's beliefs and demands that they delete her as friends on one particular issue if they even disagree with her. In someways, she is becoming like those she despises.

your being there is more important than the dress code. if you don't draw attention to yourself, nobody will probably think anything of it.

if you're comfortable, everyone else will be at ease about it as well. : )

sounds like you'll have fun! choose to have fun!!! aside from God, it's nobody's business what you wear! : )

Israel may be (probably has by now) found guilty of war crimes. Killing children, civilians. I know its more complex than just that. Hamas keeps bombing Israel and has also committed war crimes. And the history & ownership of the land, plus the whole religion stuff.

As a Christian, should I have an opinion? A side? (Obviously not with Hamas). Given all the promises that God gave to Israel in the OT, are we witnessing another promise coming into fruition? But at the expense of what? In the OT, many times it had mentioned 'Israel's enemies', are these enemies children too? Our roots are deep in Judaism. What does the West think? Do we automatically take Israel's side because of our Christian (I use the term loosely) upbringings?

Again, I am not siding with Hamas here lol.

Nope, I was thinking about this for a while and was in the News forum reading a thread. Sounds like it didn't turn out so well....

She and I both pretty much share similar feelings as you, with the exception that she refuses to allow anyone of her friends to support Israel. If they do, she demands that they delete her as friends. She's been making these posts more and more frequently, and yet she tries and acts like she's tolerant of others. Today, I've just decided I can't be friends with someone like that anymore.

one thing i forgot to mention to you earlier, evs:

as far as the probiotic goes, wait until he's through his course of antibiotics (you shouldn't give them at the same time, for a few reasons) and then you can add one of your multi-strain probiotics to his food, maybe for three days in a row, or alternating days. dogs have different digestive systems that we do, and have an easier time maintaining their intestinal flora.

aside from antibiotics, stress and sugar are the primary reasons people have issues maintaining their good bacteria--dog's systems regulate better than our own in that area. however, they are more sensitive to dietary changes, especially sudden ones, so don't go willy-nilly trying to give him different foods to encourage him to eat. it's better for him to eat little (during this short interim) than taking extreme efforts to get him to eat anything.

that's especially true if he's been sick or shown evidence of digestive issues.
Okay, thanks. :) Yeah, his diet change was VERY sudden due to his little emergency. So that does explain a lot.

Wow thats pretty extreme. Its so complex. I do support Israel getting the land back.

There is a video in one of the threads of little girls probably around 6 or 7 being interviewed, saying that they aspire to shoot Jews when they grow up like their fathers and uncles. They are taught hatred from a young age. The war will never end.

Personally, I don't think she means it in the way she's coming across, but is tired with all the support Israel that she seems to be hearing via news, and the political friends of her. I'm still surprised that she's hearing news that even supports Israel.

Wait… you have bear legs? Like furry with big destructive claws? Is that why you want to hide them under pants instead of having your legs bare?

Hi, Emy!

I recentlt met one young woman who used to cut her left arm. I saw her twrist and her scares there... She is now studyng by night and working during the day. She is your age and I felt like crying when she told me part of her life... Are you studying beside working?

You should develop some freedom and, please, try to approach whomever who seems willing to help you. When I was your age I "lost" someone I think I loved and I hit the window in from of the telephone I was using my own room. I felt no pain, except I saw my blood and belive me, it was not me. I did it once and found no pleasure in bleeding, though I knew I was bleeding inside but, what I "lost" was not a real lost, just a person who chose another way and it´s okey, everyone is free to leave and live. I wish you dare to find your way to really live.

The things I´ve known about you are so special, so I wouldn´t like you to be hurt, cut or sad.

You are special, Emy!

Just took a short drive for about an hour around the outskirt of my town, grabbed a coffee frap (was gonna get a strawberry shake from McD but an ice cream cone I got from there yesterday was a disappointment - they made it like they didn't care - so went to starbuck instead), going thru a different yet quiet residential area to get to this historical road with train rail parallel to it, a metro train happened to be passing by and all the blinking red lights, passing by grocery store with well-lit inside that kinda reminds me of this Japanese place in Little Tokyo, thought it would be nice to be with someone right now and grab some delicious Japanese dishes, passing by what it seems to be an abandoned power plant (probably looks abandoned because it's Sunday and the late hour), going under the freeway (which always gives me this strange good feeling, kinda nostalgic, don't know why), going through an area that's neither residential nor commercial, eventually getting to another quiet town where I just make it slow and eventually make a u-turn, and head back home.

It's one of my favorite late drive courses and writing about it kinda reminded me of this book I used to read so often when I was younger - it's called 'Momo' by Michael Ende, the very one who wrote 'The Neverending Story.' I know he's known for his latter work and I never got to read it but 'Momo' is one book that holds a special place in my heart. I can just see couple of CCiers falling in love with it instantly despite of it being a 'children's book' - I rarely make guarantees but if you rely on my 'review' and purchase and end up not liking it or not to your heart's full satisfaction, let me know. Okay, don't know how the night drive turned into a book selling scheme but it's been a humid night for me and good night everyone.

Christian, I only found out about 'Momo' several years ago. I read the book myself and found it to be rather clever and thought-provoking. Then, a year later, I used it as a class novel with my Year 5/6s. the book was well received. Good times!

The whole thing with Israel and Palestine is biblical prophecy. Israel has no problem with Palestine; they just want what they were promised. Israel hasn't ever fired first. Not one time. Palestinians come from Ismael who is called a "wild donkey" in scripture. You're right, the war will never end.

Hamas (and other groups) cannot be trusted. EVER. They fire on their own people and blame Israeli troops. They gather their own people, bury them in shallow graves, and blame Israel. However, since the world is terrified of Islam and they want to appease them, the media has focused on Palestinian deaths.

I find it to be interesting that any war Israel has fought with Palestine, Israel has always won. They've always killed the most, done the most damaged, caused their enemies to flee. The world sees that as Israel being horrible and evil. But they really should read the scriptures because God promises that Israel will always be protected, they'll always win the war.

I'm very much pro Israel and always will be.

(...) Israel has no problem with Palestine; they just want what they were promised (...)

The problem is the palestines don't agree with Israel's claim, and they're not the only ones. I sure don't: 'Medīnat Yisrā'el' is just another (highly secularized) nation state that has little to do with the 'Israel of old.' But let's not turn this into a 'political thread' shall we; peace is all that matters now (Isaiah 2:4):)
