Don't know what you mean bootstrapping. Wouldn't AT ALL blame others for others heartaches. Misunderstood. Just saying if they had ppl in their life who prayed and cared for them consistently, it might help ease their pain, and help avoid it in the future. I think we'd all be surprised to know just how many there are that don't really have anyone that cares enough to actually enter their world and be-friend them, and many try to hide it. It's hard to give away what you don't have, especially when rejection, ridicule, or chastisement is your common experience.
Please don't misunderstand me. I DO KNOW. But again, I will tell you, if you aren't being filled up, you need to have a deeper relationship with God. Seek him, listen to him, submit to him. Let God heal your hurts and fill your wounds.

There is no friendship or multiple friendship who can heal or friend you like God can.

BTW: Bootstrapping is 'picking yourself up by your bootstraps'. What is meant is that you need to go it alone and that's not what I am saying. BUT, I am saying that your strength should come from God, and not another person. People can't heal your broken heart. Only God can.

It's been brought to my attention that I sound like I'm lecturing. I'm not intending that, Sydlit. My intention is to encourage you in your faith with Christ. God truly is the only one who can heal our heartache, hurts, and grief. I'm stating this from EXPERIENCE and from a place of having been broken so hard.

People cannot fill that hole, no one is equipped to do that. We can pray and encourage, but no one can fix it except the one who made you.

Blah......I've done a lot today. Pretty much tore apart the living room then put it back together. I still need to vacuum. I still need to do dishes. The floor in my bathroom hasn't been mopped. My bedroom hasn't been touched.

oh. But I do see alot of ppl who rally around each other, encourage each other, etc. on a daily basis, so there's very little room or time for the enemy to infiltrate, and that's great, since we're all in this together, and should be helping each other. But there are also those who, more often than not, are told they need to 'go find God' for some reason, yet they're the ones that are usually the most in need of family help and understanding. I also know I've been guilty of this as well. It's always easier to love the lovely, the bubbly, the popular, and step around the ones hurting by the side of the pool. I'm asking God to help me with that, since I've been on both sides. My initial q was just wondering if that daily, genuine concern is what helps some remain afloat, and if the lack of it contributes...NOT CAUSES...but contributes to some ppl sinking because they struggle being in the water on their own, so to speak. I guess most all would agree that everybody needs somebody, but not everybody has somebody, and it seems sometimes they get blamed for being left out, or not accepted in. Just wondering about all that is all...

No no, silly...you can't list off all the stuff you Haven't done yet or you'll...run away screaming. List off all the stuff you Have gotten done instead and then be all happy about the it ;)

...this is totally hypocritical advice, by the way...

*runs off screaming too*

Was not at all thinking that, please know that. Was not thinking you were lecturing at all, and I'm sorry if someone else got that impression. Have always considered you a decent person in here, (even tho there were some '3rd party' misunderstandings, early on, neither one of our fault so we won't mention it. Oops. sorry :)). No, I get what you're saying, I guess I really was just wondering aloud, and questioning my own weaknesses.... AND hurts, you're right....maybe we all play a part to some degree, but I wasn't meaning to be accusitory to you specifically in any way, just in a general sense, and towards myself as well. Hope that's all ok. Gotta go. Making mom dinner, maybe see you later in one thread or another. Peace. :)

I know this isn't the prayer forum, but I'm here, so I'm going to ask.

I feel a migraine coming on, so if you all would pray for me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! I'm going to go curl up in a ball now...

Oh, I'm glad you weren't offended. I really did/do want to encourage you.

And I do understand about feeling like you are alone in the world. Been there too... and not for a short time and not just recently. That point of truth of immersing yourself into God really does come from a place of experience. :)

And about your previous point with regard to loving the popular? I understand that too. I've never been particularly popular, pretty much always felt like the oddity (I'm very different from my family), and as a passionate Christian in my teens and 20s and coming from a family life that was rife with mental health issues, abuse, and hurts; I worried that I would never be loved. As ironic as it is? My own experience is that when we are in such a place of need, people are overwhelmed and take a step back because they KNOW they can't fill the need or they victimize you if they aren't very nice people.

This is why I am such an advocate of letting the right order happen... immersing into God and letting him fill the hurting and the holes.

Hope dinner with mom was good. What did you make?
