In midtown. Worked on a glass piece for a couple of hours. Went to my favorite soul food place which is a short walk, one block away, for a pulled pork sandwich and some fried okra. My phone wouldn't let me post a pic in the food pics thread, but that is okay, because I'm having beer also.

I don't remember the last beer I had because I usually prefer wine. But I got some Oktoberfest special at the biergarten, since the soul food place does not serve alcoholic drinks. I brought the soul food into their patio.

Some creepy old guy with orange and black painted fingernails just showed me a bunch of pastries he pulled out of a box. I have no idea what he wanted me to do for those pastries, but though I was polite, he correctly interpreted my lack of interest.

Actually, I really want chocolate, but not THAT badly...

There is a pretty popular dessert diner a block in the other direction. Perhaps on my next break.
lol..as in he pulled each donut out of the box he purchased to show them off to you...or was he introducing you to each one? My imagination is running away with me. Ha

Hi brothers and sisters. Would you be able to send up a prayer for me? I don't feel I have a future. I have great trouble setting goals, I have no ambition in life, I don't have clarity about anything. I don't know. I'm just...
Remember to cling to His promises for you Jeremiah 29:11 and reach out to your family and friends for support and encouragement. You are in my prayers Tintin!

Praying for you, Tintin! And may the Lord remind you that He doesn't make mistakes, that you are His child and that He loves you deeply!

He made you just that way you are, and that makes you unique and oh so special!! He has wonderful plans for you!! We just sometimes have a hard time understanding them!! Remain faithfull to Him, and go through this desert knowing that He is by your side at all times, even when we can't sense His presence!!

The Lord lets us go through hard times to forge our character!! May He give you the wisdom you need to learn and understand what He wants you to! ;)

And "em tudo dai graças" (*give thanks in all circumstances)! ;)

woke up early to make zucchini spice cake before church for a bake sale. It's in the oven now and smells delicious.

Though not a morning person by any means, I do understand the attraction of getting up early to read some of the Word, putter around, doing the morning routine of getting ready in an unrushed state before the general hubbub of the day.

But will this change me into a morning person? Heavens no!!!

I had a really good day today :)

Church was amazing. Then, I got introduced to the folks at the Sound ministry (ones I'll be working with for I dunno how long). They gave me a tour at the backstage of NCC Singapore, where Joseph Prince preaches. It's a really really great opportunity to serve and I'm thankful.

Then I got home and celebrated my friends' friend's (just met her today, really) birthday and we've been eating, playing kiddie games the rest of the day. So many people came (children party themed) and it's 12:35AM now, and we just finished the last bit of the surprise. Birthday girl got emotional and started crying and thanking and hugging us all, even I, even if we just met today lol. It's amazing.

Lord, I stand in awe of Your goodness.

I always leave about an hour minimum before I have to leave for work. I like to wake up, get up, eat something, check the forum... I like to have a bit of a runway before I have to take off.

I remember that pic and I love spice cake so you need to share this recipe! It looked fantastic.

Dont wake up early to often because it will become addicting and you will be converted!!

Things are a little unsettling for me at the moment as well. I believe that the key element is clarity. Once you understand things clearly you will be able to form a game plane for the immediate future. God will certainly assist you and be with you every step of the way. Prayer being said for you.

I really like the dude who sometimes guest-pastors at church. He spoke today about how fear can paralyze us and shared his own experiences with panic attacks and social anxiety. He brought up an experience learning to rock climb this summer - how he had to "let go" so that his limbs could get circulation back after being stuck on a difficult climb. Basically, the act of letting go, trusting the rope, knots, harnesses, and others is what enabled him to finish the climb. Having rock climbed a little in the past, I was able to relate to this, which is amazing because my eyes usually glaze over when sports analogies are used in a sermon.

It reminded me also of another illustration we did in a class at my old church. Someone had a balloon bouquet with balloons labeled "joy," "trust," etc. Someone handed him a box labeled "burdens." In grabbing the box, the guy released the balloon bouquet. How often do we do that? How often do we give up our blessings in order to weighed down by burdens?

I like it when I can connect one sermon with another, even from years before at a different denomination. Anyway, today gave me a lot to think about.

Thanks, Molly!!

And yeah... I do collect!! If I had more money, I would have a ton more than I do, but I do have all the books (both in Portuguese and in English), and all the movies, I have some figures and statues, I have Sting, Anduril, Legolas twin knives, and now the high elven warrior sword, I got the One Ring in some versions of it (I probably have 5 in all), the Ring of Barahir, and the Evenstar... I still want to get Smaug, Orcrist, Legolas bow and the sword of Thranduil... but all in good time...

Awesome story Catherder!
Praise God
It is amazing how the littlest things can impact a moment in your life so much.
If it's alright...may I share? Lol...perhaps it will sound silly..
Since you are a guy lol but...
Friday eve....at dusk I was just alone on the porch watching the trees and sun. Just at peace....and this hummingbird...just out of nowhere gently fluttered its wing upon the top of my hair and flew away.
For no reason I just started to cry...for like a few minutes.
And I said " Thank you Jesus...that was a beautiful little moment there." Lol

It's all because of Him.
God bless you Catherder
Thank you for sharing what inspires you :)
