Sorry to hear this, Lil. I will pray for you and your sis. Is there someone of authority that you can voice your concerns to?
Not really, because one of the people on the praise and worship team that was giving my sister a hard time is a kid of the authority. The youth pastor, though he's like a brother to me, sometimes can be blind to those things and even jump right in a little bit with some of it. I thought about saying something and I sorta did but nothing for anyone to really hear or listen.

Don't you just love it when the people behind job ads require people with "Good grammaticalskills" ?

That is evidence that they need help in that area. That's why they're looking for someone with those skills. ;)

I know some local newspapers that could really benefit from some skills...

Actually chocolate doesn't figure very much in our planned Christmas celebrations. Christmas Eve the whole family gets together for finger food. (Aunt Diane always makes me a cheeseball with cream cheese, ham, bell pepper... some kind of other stuff in it... all rolled in diced pecans.) Christmas Day we reconvene for a good family breakfast - cheese and eggs, Grandma's buttermilk biscuits, bacon, sausage, white gravy, etc.

I might start a tradition of making these cookies though. Just chocolate chip cookies, but they have a texture that makes them vanish when I take them to any kind of party. (Secret is the oat flour. Shhhh, don't tell!)

2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 cups self-rising flour
5 cups oat flour
48 oz chocolate chips
10 oz chocolate bar, grated

Melt butter. Mix up ingredients in order from the top of this list down. When you get to the oat flour, just put some oats in a blender. Put dough on greased cookie sheet in tablespoons. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Have someone hide cookies so you won't eat too many:p

DETAILS REQUIRED!

(My my, you've sure had a lot of dates lately! :) )
This is the same gal that had the brakes go out on her in a company vehicle a few weeks back - I got her some herbal tea and we talked a bit while we waited for the tow truck and then drove her back to the office. My piano teaching came up, and I mentioned a friend who also teaches and gigs in a swing band who puts on recitals for her adult students and performing friends. Some of my students play in these, so I was going to go, and invited this co-worker as well.

Anyway, she arrives while I am making some froo-froo appetizers, meets another friend who comes over to do a run-thru of a horn duet (I was to play a contemporary version of "Oh Little Town of Bethlehem" on piano and my own arrangement of "Silver Bells" for french horns). Then we all head off to the party.

There is plenty of merriment and mirth and the party and the recital begins. I am amazed that after we get separated during the party chit-chat, I see that she is holding her own and getting to know people. That's something my ex always hated doing. I then determine not to compare her to my ex anymore and decide to enjoy the evening.

We do some impromptu swing dancing in the kitchen during one of the performances (Santa Baby - ugh!) . The music is a good electric mix of seasonal, classical, and jazz.

So it kind of started as friends going out, but the dancing may have changed that. She is nine years older than me - the same age as my step-monster, which is a little weird. Is age just a number?

So, is it sad that I have a choice to hang out with a friend in ten minutes or stay in my hoody and sweatpants and watch Netflix and all I want to do is the latter?

That sounds like a wonderful evening! I love that she seemed relaxed with your friends and wasn't clingy. She sounds great! And yeah, age is just a number. Don't think about your step-monster. :p People in this world are so vastly different from one another that age makes up too tiny a portion to even matter where life and living and fun commonalities are concerned. :)
