I never would've guessed that those were your body-type idols. To be honest, women built like that look a little intimidating to me. I personally prefer a more graceful looking build like taylor swift's... ok I better shut up now. Oh and I've seen you in pictures and I think you look good just the way you are! :)
*LOL's at the reference to Tay Tay*

Zero, we know all about your obsession. :):rolleyes:;)

The funny thing is that I'm the most un-athletic person you'll ever meet (NEVER throw something at me, no matter how big-- I can't catch it and will duck, so watch out if you're standing behind me :D) but I've always admired athlete's bodies. I know Madonna is extreme but I've always admired her body type as well.

Maybe what I'm really envying is the fact that these people obviously have so much self-discipline and are willing to work so hard and it REALLY shows... I'm always fascinated by how far humanity can be pushed, whether in body or in mind. And here I am, watching YouTube videos ("Skywalker Family Tree"!) when I could be at the gym... I like what you said though, maybe I can use that line: "I can't work out today, I just might get too buff and be WAY too intimidating... and then I'd scare off all the men..." :)

Zero, thank you so much for the compliment!

The really young people might groan at us old folks bantering back and forth :), but you're quite the hunk yourself. ;) And, you know I'd be right there fighting you for a hamburger :).

Why is a random guy always on the phone with Jake from State Farm at three in the morning anyhow?

One-upmanship. It's a verbal sport.

It's amazing what people will try to one-up each other about-
"Oh, you got a raise? Well I just got promoted and I make twice what I used to"
"You have a headache? Well I've got a migraine so bad I can't even move"
"You had a rough childhood? Well I was abandoned in the forest and raised by a band of gypsies who only fed me their table scraps and made me sleep in the mud with the pigs"

Why is there always someone standing by who has had it better, or worse, or has a funnier story, or is in more pain, or...? I mean, I don't begrudge anyone their moment to share and all, but maybe half a second after someone else has spoken isn't the time to do it.

My family is driving me batty.

Well MY family is even worse than yours about that.

Oh man... I'm kidding, but you know what? I've caught myself doing that a few times. I think my original intention is to empathize or relate to the person having the problem in an effort to help, but I know that deep down it's probably more a call for attention. Ugh.

Who hates rough days....?

I think we all do really... but holy moses.. No one is ever happy with anything these days anymore.

Meds too expensive, pharmacists "taking their time"... cant afford certain things... why isnt my insurance approving of this... and my all time favorite... "can you call me when my prescriptions are ready?"...

Sigh, I did not choose this career, The lord told me this was the place to be. I have the big caring heart and wish to help anyone and everyone in need, but there is only so much I can do.. job wise. I'm not a tech yet, so therefore I have a LOT of learning to do... but learning that job takes training, testing.. and learning new things. It just breaks my heart when I can't help someone out... its a real bummer. :(

No way, are you a tech? I was a tech too! :D Yea, it wasn't exactly a dream job...

update: I just read the rest of your post ...I see you are not yet a tech. My advice is to try to get into a hospital/inpatient pharmacy. That IS like a dream job.

So anyways, yeah it's heartbreaking to tell someone that their doctor hasn't sent their approval yet or the drug they prescribed isn't covered and they need it now. One time we had a prescription for a schedule 2 painkiller for someone who just had dental surgery and the name on the prescription was mispelled by one letter and she was in a lot of pain and a regular customer of ours. She totally lost it when we said we needed a new rx because it was the law. I think we got the doc to prescribe something less strong over the phone while they worked on a new rx.

Somehow though the techs and pharmacists I worked for had been there for like 10 years and they seemed to love their jobs so go figure. I guess once the customers know you and they know what to expect then its not so bad.

Oh and I don't know if you've done any hospital pharmacy experience but I did during my externship. It's a great job if you can get one. We did all the day's IV's and fills for all the pt carts in the morning and distributed them, then we'd wait for rx's to trickle in until lunch time. Rxs would trickle in throughout the day, sometimes you get a few stat orders from the emergency room, then towards the end of the day we'd collect all the discharged meds from the carts and medication rooms and put any unopened drugs back into our stock. No customers, no phones ringing, no insurance issues... it's basically a dream job. :) And the best part is... you get to wear scrubs! :D

Kim, if you can dodge anything that is thrown at you, then that makes you athletic. Athleticism, depending upon the sport, also depends on how well you can dodge. :)

I, for one, used to be bad at both, even though I was into sports. I've been bruised on my lips and face because I could neither catch nor dodge the balls that were thrown at me! ;)

I tried to switch the picture sequencing in Four Words, but ran out of time. The last should be first. The first should be last.

seoulsearch if you admire athletic people you would sure be disappointed if you ever met me. :p I'm agile enough to walk on a slick floor without falling - even if I didn't know it was slick before I stepped on it - but I'm nowhere near as strong as most of the guys I know.

I was looking up recipes for caramels and found a quote I thought was amusing.

"Making caramels for the first time can be pretty intimidating...
Now, the second time you make caramels, you'll be an old pro. In fact, this caramel-making knowledge can be a bit dangerous. The ability to whip up a batch of caramels on a whim is a power that should not be taken lightly, after all. Just promise me you'll use your power for good."

I thought to myself, yeah I can see me making caramels and eating caramels much too often.
