Love you too, wwjd!! :) Did I ever tell you one of my favorite bands is still a-ha? They were considered a one-hit wonder here... but... hubba hubba. And if I remember correctly... they're from Norway... :D

Hehe. Cool :D
Yep. They've been "on and off" since the early 80's

:p :D

I am trying to think if there are any other good Norwegian bands you might have heard of over there, but I don't think most of them have any English lyrics, so it seems unlikely. (ie Vamp, Postgirobygget and Gitarkameratene ). It's mostly the black metal bands that get a name outside Scandinavia :p

Hey everybody,

I just need to vent for a bit. Many thanks and much love to the people who've asked where I've been and why I've stopped writing threads (ha ha ha... I just accidentally typed "writing threats" instead of "writing threads"... yeah, that seems fitting. :))

I've enjoyed my time on CC and I've always been a very vocal advocate of this site. I've also been writing threads at an almost nonstop pace for nearly 7 years. I never seem to run out of ideas, but that's just one side effect of being cursed with a mind that never shuts off. At last count, I had about 60-80 more ideas, give or take, stashed away in my "CC Thread Ideas" notebook.

However... It seems that now days, if you dare to write a thread in the forums, it's pretty much a given that:

* 1 person will tell you you've posted your thread in the wrong part of the forum, and that they'll have it moved.
* 2 people will tell you CC isn't a dating site.
* 2 or more will throw in a good Jesus Juke, just to make sure we're all behaving and surely not talking about anything that happens in real life--heaven forbid.
* 3 people are going to complain about someone's grammar and/or spelling.
* 2 or more arguments will break out.
* And last, but not least, someone is going to attack you for even writing the thread in the first place, telling you that your point of view is wrong or that the subject isn't even worth bringing up.

Believe it or not, it didn't used to be this way.

But even defending someone or bantering with anyone will get a person into trouble. I've found out it's been asked (behind closed doors) if I happen to be dating or chasing such-and-such male poster (there are about 5 in question) here on CC.

First of all, if I'm chasing someone, the poor guy will know it. I'm thoughtful enough to slap a target right on his forehead before I start chasing. Second, I wish people would ask ME about my personal life instead of asking other people. Sigh. I know it's just the nature of humanity.

Likewise, no, I'm not dating anyone on CC. If I were, you'd probably know, because any guy I might like probably would have posted a "911, May Day, May Day!!!" all over the forum by now.

And, who knows, I may change my mind tomorrow... And you'll see 6 new threads in a row.
Well, I have two solutions for this or maybe one hybrid solution. You should write all those threads as PM's to me and we'll start a great discussion and keep all the jerks, trolls, and other undesirables out of the discussion, when there's too much discussion you should come visit me for in person discussions and that should really get the rumors flying :p

A more practical solution might be you could create a private chat group where only your friends could see and respond to your discussions (again keeping the trolls, pharisees, and other jerks away). Just be sure to give the group a good name like "ideas judgmental christians can't discuss without blowing a gasket" or "Seoulsearch's scandalous surmising".

Yeah it stinks when the wrong sorts come in and make a mess of our little corner of the internet, but that's why we need your threads, to keep us thinking good thoughts and deep ones, and to umm.... well how about I just tell the truth here, I love your threads and you're one of my favorite CC people (and I don't want to have to try to fill your brilliant thread writing shoes).

Cinder, you are a peach.

I think you and I have often spoken from universal points of view (even if it was unpopular) among many slopes of discussion among the years, and I've always appreciated your support. Even if we see things differently we never lose sight of each other, and you have always been a good friend. Thank you!!!

And hey, girl, in case no one's ever told you, you have a way of writing things in such an eloquent manner, I could easily see your posts being presented as proposals for a thesis or dissertation. You write in a manner that would satisfy even the most elite intellectual here.

Me, on the other hand... I'm the one eating mac'n'cheese while sitting here in a Mickey Mouse t-shirt... and I don't mind that my "everyday girl next door" self shows through in my writing, either. ;)

LOL. Poor Siberian.

We just might make an exception for the LIKEABLE trolls around here. :p

Because otherwise someone will sue us for discrimination.

I hereby nominate you and Roh-Chris as our official "Meet the Quota (To Avoid Legal Action)!" trolls.

Haha! That's funny. Roh can be assistant resident troll - no, assistant to the resident troll. Lol.

Seriously, people.

For the longest time, I wore a size 5 1/2 shoe (so they wouldn't be hard to fill.) I also curl my toes, so people would tell me I had elf feet... Y'all could probably fill both my shoes with just your one. :D

Seriously, though. I appreciate it more than I can express (even in an excessively long post ), and I love you all right back. After all, I've never been able to just up and completely leave this place altogether, and you guys are the reason.
