Darn, I hate the sound of thunder. It must be so loud there in NZ. You guys have the craziest lightnings and thunder. It wakes me up in the middle of the night too. Sometimes, when it rains before I sleep, I put on earbuds.

Speaking of sleep, I'm calling it a day. I feel like a vegetable right now. Catch ya later Missy, gnight.

I've been reading bits a pieces of the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha (books not included in the Bible) and they seem to be more detailed accounts of things that happened and are recorded (sparsely) in the Bible. For example: The Book of Adam records in detail the Genesis creation, their activities in the garden and even the fruit they ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil - a fig tree (God, if you'd put me there I wouldn't have touched the fruit). Also, the Book of Enoch (I haven't read much of it) refers in great detail to the Nephilim described around the time of Noah.

I'm just wondering if the Torah was just a pared-down version of these early Jewish writings (focusing only on God and his story and not the details and on the elements that were inspired by the Holy Spirit?) Because the accounts are quite similar in both the Bible and the Book of Adam and Book of Enoch, they just have far more detail. Naturally, elements are rather fantastical but that happens when the story is shared for some time and integrity of the oral story isn't paramount. Thoughts?
I think a lot of these books were written in order to fill in the gaps found in the Bible. There are a number of books that claim to give details of Jesus Childhood for instance. Another reason is that people want to push some teaching that isn't found in the recognized scriptures so they write their own and usually ascribe the result to some Prophet or Apostle. Look out for the Gospel according to Tanakh, available in all obscure book stores lol

I'm totally going to cheat on my diet tonight. I'm going to get down on a double bacon cheeseburger and I'm going to tear that thing up. I'm going to get all kinds of beast mode on it.

Go for it. I did Burger King the other night. It's not so bad if you think about it.

The Book of Enoch I believe is considered to be a Gnostic book. So, be careful when reading it.

I went for Aldi's to grocery shop today. If you're familiar with Aldi's you pay 25 cents to unlock a cart and get it back when you're done. Sometimes when you're done with the cart someone might give you a quarter and ask for your cart.

As I was approaching the Cart's an elderly woman was putting her cart back, I asked if I could give her a quarter for her cart. She got very offended and said, I'm putting this back and getting my quarter. I said, ok I'm sorry. A man said, here you can take mine. I feel bad, I confused the poor woman and really made her mad. When I was done, I just gave someone the cart, because the man did that for me, no quarter necessary.

I hope I didn't ruin that woman's day, I really didn't want her quarter.

Careful as in judging everything it says by the Word of God. Gnosticism and Christianity are two completely different religions. Gnostic's may look like they believe the Bible, but when you examine them further, you may find that their beliefs are far from the truth.
