Some women may not agree with me on this one, but I, personally, do not like being referred to as "a princess" in regards to knowing God. Yes, I get that He's the King of Kings, and I am His daughter and therefore a "princess". I get that it's probably supposed to be a term of endearment. Perhaps the connotation of "princess" has tainted my view on it, but it just sounds too fluffy and pink and frilly for me. It sounds too much like being put on a pedestal, to raise my ego and status. It sounds too self-focused.

There's nothing wrong with pink, frills, or fluffyness. But in regards to who I am in Christ? No thanks.
What if you were a warrior princess, like Xena?

I completely agree, Rachel. I posted something similar on FB about a week ago. It was not well received. :)

I'm only a princess for one, my King, who's child I am. No one else calls me princess, and no one else is allowed to.... My boyfriend doesn't even call me princess.... He calls me his queen :p lol

It's nice to know that the princess mentality isn't universal. I completely support the idea of respecting women, but calling or treating them all as princesses never really seemed to live up to that idea.

And I'm pretty sure that schnookems is a much better term of endearment anyways. :p

It gags me to be called a princess. Just being honest.

It might cause me to start saying things like "yummy".

I don't like being referred to as a princess at all...no matter what it is in reference to.
Me neither, I don't like that pet name. I just clarified by saying in reference to God, because that's the particular instance that bugs me the most. :)

I don't really like pet names in general. Or cutesy terms. I have a friend who posts statuses on Facebook about "Hanging with the bestie!" or "Having dinner with the boyfriend!" "I am so blessed, got flowers from the boyfriend!"

They. Have. Names.

I'm okay with "Sweetie" and "dear" and such, but "Cupcake Kitten Whiskers" or "Pumpkin Boo Boo"...just too much. :p

Pumpkin Boo boo. BEST. PET NAME. EVER. XD

I will give people nicknames sometimes. But they're typically silly ones. Like, when I was in a band, I used to call the drummer "Drummer boy" on the occasion. :p

Thank you, Lord. I mailed a package and realized I shipped it to the wrong address. I got on the horn to Fed Ex and stopped the shipment . I don't usually do this and I am surprised I even remembered right after I shipped it that it was an expensive package going to the wrong address . Thank you, thank you, Lord, glory be.

Sometimes it feels weird for me to give opinions on how I think relationships should be like. I feel like I'm still too young to have an opinion. I mean, yeah, I'll be 17 next month. But I just...I dunno. It's just a weird stage of life for me right now.

I'm also pretty sure I wanna stay single and it's easier to be that way. But I guess time will tell for that, too.

I have come to the conclusion after a scientific study and many hours of research and late nights analyzing data, that the gas mileage of my car and the amount of fun I have in my car are inversely proportional. :)

I am quite please to see this sentiment, as well as the agreeances (I don't care if that's not a word, I'm making it one) of our female colleagues here. The princess-syndrome seen in many women today is troubling, and honestly, a turn-off. It smacks of entitlement. (Trust me, the men in our society certainly have entitlement issues as well.) As terrible as it seems, my general attitude about things is, "You're not special. Neither am I." I actually tell my students that. That's right, I say that right to a sixth grader's face, without a drip of irony, sarcasm, or humor. Yes, I may be a child of the King and all...but if EVERYONE is special and unique...like everyone else...then no one is special or unique. ^_^

I have a tiara too!

And I might wear it...
You totally need to bring that to Tyler. And wear it. And I am saying this without a drip of irony, sarcasm, or humor. ^_^

I should just shut up and work myself to the bone. Seems as though some people who seem tough aren't so thick skinned as they let on.

Crap, now I feel as such. smh

Watching 'Headlines ' , Jay Leno show, and , this was a saying in an ad for attending a conference or party .

"No toilet facilities available so please dress accordingly."

Jay said, "So what are they supposed to do, where triple Depends."

When my son woke up today, I said "Good morning, kiddo", and he stared at me a minute, then looked out the window and said, "No. It's not morning. Still dark out."

So then we had to open the curtains up and watch the sunrise...and I explained, the best I could, why the clouds were turning pink and orange.

After a too-lengthy explanation that made no sense at all, my son leaned his head against my arm and said, "You know I don't CARE, mom."

*sigh*
