Dear Lord,

I've been avoiding you.
Screening your calls.
Not answering the door.
Averting my eyes and crossing to the other side of the street.

I'm sorry.
I'll stop.

I think millions have said that same prayer millions of times, odd, why haven't we stopped? Got to be some error there somewhere, for is it not true that the truth is to set us free from bondage?
Just wondering a nice prayer though
Any insight Sister, or anyone?

Waiting waiting waiting. Always waiting for time and work.
What are you exactly seeking, what is got you in an impatient status? Or so it may seem. Ask, and you will find the answer when you least expect it, at least that has been my experience

Well, wonders never cease!!! I entered an essay scholarship contest on my birthday, and I don't think it got entered, unfortunately, because I simply hit the back button, my entire entry was completely messed up. My birthday was the deadline for it, too.

Well, it WAS the deadline for it. :) It got extended to the 16th of this month. So I have an extra 6 days to redeem myself and really show that I have what it takes to win first place. :)

Perhaps it's because of all the weapons of mass distraction

I have prayed that prayer before. Many times, actually. From my experience (I can't speak for MissCriss, though it may be similar, I don't know), my flesh and my will are weak. I will resolve to be more disciplined, to be more vulnerable with God, and then a week later, I'm back to my old habits.

For me, I have evaluate myself every day, pretty much. Sometimes I'm lazy and I don't. Sometimes I'm "busy" (which is not an excuse). Sometimes I just...don't.

Maybe someday my flesh will not win so often. Maybe I'm going about it the wrong way. Becuase you're right, the truth does set us free. I believe we are already free in that. Our chains are gone. But sometimes we still hold onto things of the world and feel tied down when we shouldn't.

It's like this picture.

The horse is obviously stronger than the chair and could just drag that chair around. But he doesn't. He thinks he is powerless. Sometimes I feel like that. I know Christ is stronger than that chair (my sin, my spiritual laziness, etc.) but sometimes I must work through struggles and issues in my mind, get out of that muck and mire, before I can realize that Christ is Almighty over my problems. The best part is that He's there with me even through the muck and the mire. Sometimes I ignore Him in it (not good) but what I should do is cling to Him throughout it instead of trying to work on it on my own.

Now I feel like I'm rambling without making sense. In my mind I was going somewhere with this, but now I feel not so much.

TLDR; God sets us free, it's true. But, we still war against our wordly flesh/mind, and that can be quite a battle sometimes.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for difficult people. Yup, I said it. You know, the ones that really know how to push my buttons. Thanks for for the opportunity to exercise the fruits of the spirit, especially love, kindness, patience, and self-control. Thank you for using these people to help shape me into the woman you want me to be. I admit that it's often SO difficult to demonstrate love instead of lashing out or letting my frustration getting the better of me, but thank you for giving me the strength to do it. I can do ALL things, including love the unlovely, with the strength that comes from you. Thank You for using difficult people to remind me just how unlovely and undeserving I am of Your love. Thank you for loving me anyway. Thank you for your grace. It is indeed sufficient for me.

Funny you should post this. I was thinking almost the same thing earlier, although it didn't sound as pretty in my head as your post. Mine was more like....Thanks for being with me, God, while I'm neck deep in stupid. Help me behave. :)

Okay. That's enough serious for one day. I'm off to dream of a place where everyone drives Mustangs. Where all water fountains have been replaced with Dr Pepper fountains. Where shoes grow in fields like wildflowers. Where gummybear plants dot the interstates. Where there are no speed limits. Where breaking out in song and dance is always appropriate. Where bright colored fuzzy socks are delivered to your door in bushel baskets whenever it snows. Where it is okay to discharge a firearm within city limits. Where makeup can be applied once for life and never get messed up. Where...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz *snort* zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Honest and straightforward. :) Full disclosure: that's about how the "first draft" of my thoughts went, too. :p

understood and you are not alone in this mess and the world has taken on the glamor of Christ as look at me I am good and you are not, I am more Spiritual and you are not. We tend to look at others and think things of this sort, when in all truth no ne is better than the other
And God while we were all and are all still imperfect went to the cross for us all personally, waiting for us to believe God in God's Mercy to us and for us.
Time to respond and quit thinking about doing what we can't do and trust God to do iy for us how?
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

And only God personally can show you this difference if you ask God. And if you sin again he is there for you and is your advocate that has past tense already taken any sin you might or have committed already away from Father's sight why?
So by each and everyone you learn error from truth, being taught to walk as Christ walked by Faith in Father and Father alone
God already knows you are sorrowful, and do not care to ever harm another, and God is as you said always there to clean up the ___________________ As we do when we are training a puppy, we are there for it, whether we like it or not.
See the amazing grace of God
And if we ever get proud and or boastful, God who loves us sends a messenger of Satan to buffet us to keep us humble. Paul wrote of this 2 Cor. 12
You see, glory in the fact that you need God, trust god to keep you humble and his grace sufficient for you, so you won't be above anyone else or act as if you are
Love to you Sister
[h=3]Ephesians 3:16-18[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]16 [/SUP]that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; [SUP]17 [/SUP]that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, [SUP]18 [/SUP]may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

It is not a matter of us quitting, it is a matter of recieving
