There is a new store close to where I live, it's called ULTA it's a beauty store, makeup, they have a salon etc. I went in today for the first time. I don't wear a lot of make up, but I love that store. I love nail polish, I love lipstick. I love trying to new stuff, oh my gosh it was my Nirvana. Heaven help me!
I'm that way with a book store or fabric/craft store. Not much into makeup (don't wear it) or jewelry for that matter nor am I into clothes or shoe shopping. Hate that. Never been one for fashion. Only time I was fashion conscious was when I was in the army and we ALL had to wear the same shade of green. LOL :) Did enjoy going to the hair salon once a week to have my hair styled. That was a long time ago. :) I still have my hair long but I don't style updos anymore.

I love book stores to Abbiejean. I love jewelry and make up. I am very modest with both, but I like shiny things. That's sounds weird doesn't it?
If someone dropped me into a vat of jewelry, OPI nail polish bottles and lipsticks, I'd be very happy.

I used to sell Avon but I stopped because I spent more than I made. My favorite lipstick was Charged Cherry, it was the perfect shade between red and pink, it had little sparkles in it and it smelled like cherries, of course the discontinued it. I also love Mark products and Avon sell's Mark. I bought so much stuff, this awesome Mark purse, the lip gloss ever. There is a girl that brings in a Mark and Avon catalog to where I work. I look at it but I resist. It's hard but I resist.

My 7 year old daughter, Olivia is the same way, she loves lip gloss and trying on pretty things and painting her nails. I've created another shopaholic.

Yikes! I feel for you, IloveyouGod. I really do. I'm a bit disappointed in some of you that you think she didn't act in a Christian or mature way. If someone is sexually harassing you, what she did is appropriate and understandable. Not everyone's an angel in disguise (stop over-spirtualising things) or an innocent, old person. There are sexual predators of all ages and sizes. Personally, I think she did well. I would have to restrain myself from bopping him in the face. Abuse of others, even minor stuff, is not cool!
You are over-reacting to be bopping this guy, he was practically DEAD, tin-tin. Didn't you FULLY read her post before saying all this, subtle accusation at myself and others for wondering why she acted this way to a man who was about in a grave? (Did the guy have can, IlyG?)

You can't look MORE innocent than this old person, tin-tin, he could hardly stand up, and, needed to brace himself to do it, what was he possibly going to do to hurt IlyG at that ATM ? Nothing.
And, I already said in my last post that she should NOT give the man a ride despite his asking.
I don't support sexual predators or abuse. The man was obviously not completely there, couldn't walk, couldn't talk (loud), couldn't hear, I think, I heard too (pun intended :D ) ; He was someone that VERY likely put his hand on IlYG's arm to BRACE himself . It looked like he was 'rubbing' her arm because he could hardly stand, he had arthritis more likely than not, couldn't get a grip even on her arm to stabilize himself while she talked and he listened. I don't know. Even if he was rubbing her arm, just say , 'Please stop that.' Or, here is what I would say , 'Why are you doing that?'

What was the guy going to suddenly turn into Superman and whisk her away when she asked that question, tin-tin? He could hardly breath, let alone whisk her away. IlyG said it herself, the decrepit guy looked like he was 'excused from his coffin.'

My suggestion, in the future do a LITTLE more reading, bro, before you come in here and insinuate and attack me. That's wise advice, the Lord leads, but there was no reason to say that. And, I don't feel one bit that I was 'over-spiritualizing anything. I simply was saying that she could have been entertaining an angel unaware and Scripture does say this, in Hebrews, that we can be doing that. Believe your bible or not, bro, I choose to believe my bible, and, this man was similar to the story that I related to you all on here earlier in a post a few pages back . I feel, the person who came to me at that soccer game just may have been an angel. You read my story and decide for yourself, but, hey, that's just what I believe, it's OK, if you don't believe in angels. Just believe in God, John 3:16, that's it, God says you do that and you will go to heaven. Keep in mind, it takes faith in Christ to 'believe in Him,' but, yes, that's it.

I am sorry I may have ruffled some's feathers, because of all the 'like' comments to tin-tin's post--and, I understand 'abuse' and why you COULD feel that way :)--- but, this person at the bank machine with IlyG didn't just look like an innocent old man, he WAS an innocent old man by ALL indicators. If I was looking like having one foot from my grave and I asked someone for a ride, I would hope they would help me out, that's just me, I guess. I am a guy and I do NOT, as I already said, suggest it for a girl. But, if you ARE a guy? Help the man !! Give him a ride. QuIT being paranoid, tin-tin. :)

I'm guessing that you wouldn't have even give that old man a ride and you are a guy, bro. Whatever. That's not a salvation issue, that's between you and God, it's a good work to do, that's all (And, don't bother me with works and faith doctrine, I'm in the bible discussion forum a lot, go there :) ) . But, I believe God would be speaking on your heart to help that guy out, if you were in any position to do it. That's where FAITH comes in, perhaps, and, praying a simple prayer, asking for the blood of Christ protection. For a girl, I say that in past posts, when you are in a potentially dangerous situation, stop and pray to God for His 'blood of Christ' protection. He likes that, what's more, He will hear your voice , He likes it when we put our faith and hope and trust in Him :)

I'm glad she didn't give him a ride. She offered to help him get to a cab, that was nice. I may have not reacted the way she did, but I wasn't there, so I don't know. I get what everyone is saying, he's old, what harm. But in my cynical brain, what if, he's got some guy waiting around the corner, saying, hey, you go lure a women to help you. Look weak and act like you're old and a little out of it. Then when you bring her to the car, I'll put the gun to her head, and take her and the car.

Far fetched, yes, but these thoughts go through my head. Probably after my Mom was attacked by an innocent man that she let into a business to use a phone, the guy was younger. The stranger broke my Mom's knee cap and almost raped her, heard a noise, thank God, took off, went down the street tried the same thing, a lady maced him and the cops caught him.

A cop would have told her, don't drive him home. Call the police for help to get him home or call a cab. Or if the bank was open talk to them. I'm not a cop, but I'd say good call not driving him home.

I agree, fen, 100%, I don't care if the guy is crawling on the ground like a snake and can only use his hands and legs weakly to get in your car (I'm exagerrating a bit but you get the point), IF you are a girl and by yourself (no guy with you), do NOT give a guy a ride who is asking. Don't. I said this perfectly clear in my post, I hope, too :)
I don't know what to say to your mom's story, that is terrible and that 'younger' guy that went into her business was a bad egg, indeed, and, a bit loco, to try and break two women's knee caps in one day . That's just odd.

Girls need to use their spidey sense which is what God gave them, and, as I ended my last post, be praying for always 'the blood of Christ' protection when you are in a less than safe feeling situation, for He is there, and, His power is great in us when we access it by praying to Him :)

I should thank you and Tintin very much Fenner for your wise judgement. You were not there. Then just do not judge the situation one way or the other.

Everyone is like "Ahh, well, I think the guy was that, I think the guy was this" GET IT people you keep saying I THINK and building on YOUR own assumptions!!!!

I don't know how to describe someone when you address one thing to them, and they come back to you still debating the same thing over and over again!!!! hmmm, not too smart I guess eh!! Or let's say not sharp at all!!! :D

Does a guy in his end 60s seem to be old to you. I already said he looked being in his end 60s. NO ONE of course paid attention to this one minor detail. What if he was pretending all of this to attract my attention!!!!

Any how: Good to be famous and everyone is talking about me!! :D Judge ALL you want people!!! It's plain and simple, you will be judge back by God!! Matthew 7:1  Even "Kids" can read it!! ;)

So there, keep the ball rolling and me laughing about how unwise you are writing assays about my situation when you didn't witnessed it first hand. What if you had witnessed it first hand then? I guess you would have written books about it!! :D
I would have liked that even more actually cuz I would have been more famous!! :D

Thanks Praus from the Princess!! :p :D

I am such a procrastinator.
Why?
Because running around at the last minute like a chicken with its head cut off is my idea of a good time, apparently.

Tomorrow is going to be rough.

The Lord leads :) He knows my heart, I hope and pray, it's after Him . And, my posts I just stated speak it as I was led, but I was not judging anyone, just giving my opinion, even, help, to help someone see that God could use someone to be an angel in our lives that we were unaware of and, what's more, I gave my story of an 'angel' I may have entertained. :)
I didn't say that the touching and rubbing of the arm deserved no reaction or caution, it did, I would tell any girl to be very careful of ANY man touching your arm, rubbing your arm. But, I would not reel back, especially from an old man, who was with you in a public place at a bank machine, in the daytime, who could barely move. I WOULD, immediately, after he touched me , step back, and, not say , 'What da hell!' as this person posting said she thought of saying. I would say, 'What is this, Lord?' to myself. I would then pray for 'the blood of protection' of Christ and I would then ask the man, simply, 'Why did you touch my arm and rub against it?'

As I already stated, I can just about guess, this man was in no position to take her anywhere, he very well might have been a sexual predator, I highly doubt it, based on what I've read of his decrepit condition, but, that's why you step back and you ask
God what I said above and you ask the old man what I said above.
And, no, just because the man looks like he can't walk, that's no reason for a girl to give him a ride somewhere. Au Contraire. That's even MORE of a reason not to, because there is NO good reason in my mind for a girl, who is by herself, without guy with her, to give ANY guy, who IS a stranger that she does not know VERY WELL a ride in her car, ever.

Hopefully, sigh, all this drama (LOL, praus) can end peacefully now :)

Was out and about, did some shopping and paying monthly bills. Stopped at JoAnn Fabrics. :) Got a few items that I did need and will use in sewing this weekend.

Avon, huh? Cool. I used to buy alot of their products. Don't as much now. I have two favorites - Red Door and Liz Claribone (sp?) - is a triangle shaped bottle. Expensive but what little I wear of perfume it lasts a long time.

I like the name Olivia. If I had had a little girl I would have named her Anetta Marie. Anetta pronounced as A-NET-ta. :) With a little boy I liked the names Gordon, Wayne, Michael, Benjamin and James.

My feral kitty is resting on the window sill, outside. He comes everyday. Supposed to get another winter storm. Just spoke with my sister. St Paul, MN got snow, more on the way. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ready for green grass, singing songbirds and flowers. I get we gotta have winter, but geeesh. Please put the brakes on the storms. :)

Kenthom, the duck? Getting a little feisty, aren't we, now, you go changing your avatar on me in last 24 hours, and, after having did a 'like' on my post of my duck broth to you??

And, all just over mistakenly calling you 'duck broth' when I was just meaning 'duck bro,' it just SOUNDS like 'duck broth,' ifth you-th talkth likth theth duckth and have the 'bro' word in there. Easy mistake to make, righth, duckth broth :D

So, here's a nice bowl of 'Mallard Surprise' soup, not just broth, you get ALL the fixings in this, not just mallard, but also, Northern Pintail, American Black Duck, oh, yummy, all to sooth all that anger away you so strikingly display in your avatar :)

So agree. Just because you are a Christian does not mean you are to be unwise or not protect oneself. Yes, God is there and does protect but He also gave us a brain and intuition. I use mine. :)

Having been in frightening situations (here and overseas) when my "gut" says CAREFUL and it is not what it appears, I listen. I do thank God I do listen.

Will share this about angels unawares.

Back when I was a youngster in the Lord, if there is such a thing, or maybe just plain naive in the Lord and growing up, getting spiritual bones and muscles to my faith, I had a car that was giving me problems. Didn't have the money to spend for a mechanic to put alot of time in it. I needed an answer. A direct answer. A CLEAR answer.

I pulled into a small grocery store and turned the car off. Now prior to getting to the grocery store, I had said a very simple, simple prayer. "God, I need help. I don't know what is wrong with this car. You do. I need someone to tell me what is wrong so I can take it to the mechanic and they can fix it. I don't want to be taken with my money. Help."

Back at the grocery store. The car is off, I get out and hear this voice. I look up and a man in shorts, beard, raggy looking outfit says, "Lady, start your engine again." I get back into my car, turn it on. He hollers out, "Turn it off. It's your water pump." He closes the hood. I exit the car. I thank him and start to walk into the grocery store. I am impressed to turn around and I do. Folks, that was a matter of seconds. The person and the jeep he arrived in was GONE!!!! Vanished. I didn't see that jeep ANYWHERE in the parking lot or on the street. It had vanished. Immediately the scripture came to mind, we entertain angels unaware.

I had peace that I had the answer regarding my car. I took it to the mechanic and said, "Fix the water pump." He called me and said, "Lady, that was exactly the problem."

God is an on time God EVERY time and He will use whatever means necessary to answer our prayers. :) You got a problem? Need an answer? God will send His army. His angels are powerful and can go to places we can only dream of. :)

So the guy asked what I do outside of work, and I answered like a stereotypical introvert, read, go to Starbucks, watch tv, chat on a Christian forum. So very lame XD
lol, you say that like it's a bad thing. All I would translate that to if I were him is "Great, she's not a party girl and she can make plenty of time to spend with me"
