That's great Arlene! You should put a cover on youtube. I've been wanting to buy a violin so bad. It's one of the few stringed instruments I've never gotten my hands on.
Haha, give me a year of practice and maybe we can talk about a cover on youtube. I've always wanted a cello to muck around on. Years ago, I used to sneak in to the my high school music rooms and goof around on the cello (pretty easy to play if you already know how to play the violin). But there's something about the cello that makes me weak at the knees, I've always had a soft spot for them.

I've often referred to my violin as an 'extended limb'. But there's something about having a cello so close to your body, and feeling the sound vibrations actually rattle you from the inside out that really appeals to me. Cellos provide a rich and deep contrast to the violin that would be a nice avenue to explore.

I'm a fan of Pinterest. I think it's fun to pin digital images to digital corkboards. It's like shopping without having to deal with all the stuff (and bills) you bring home.

I cannot, however, go to sites like pinterestfail.com. Most of the follies are baking related, and I look at people's mistakes and just... okay, baking can be really difficult. I used to have people come into the shop saying they wanted to bake a cake they saw on the Food Network. The people who were seeking my advice had NO training and NO concept of how difficult the project was going to be. So I would be honest and inform them nicely that there wasn't an ice cube's chance in hell they were going to produce the cake they were envisioning. Sometimes they would believe me and we would design a cake they COULD make; however, most of the time, I was informed that I was wrong. They didn't need training. They could just follow the instructions and be fine.

Those are the kinds of people who participate on sites like pinterestfail.com. They're bat crap crazy people who think the years people like me have spent learning how to do stuff doesn't matter. They think they're the exception because they watched an hour of Cake Boss. I should say that there are decorating savants who can watch a youtube video and be perfect. Which is awesome! But for the 99% of us who need years of practice to be proficient, 44 minutes of TV training isn't going to cut it.

All that ranting to say, if you're going to bake or decorate a dessert please follow the instructions. If it says you need a special tool or ingredient or whatever, get it. Don't ignore it because you don't know what you're doing. Canned frosting ISN'T buttercream, no matter what Duncan Hines says. There are many different types of meringue; do your homework. A box cake is just as good as from scratch for most occasions. Wilton decorating classes are easy and short... they're worth the money, but their frosting and fondant are disgusting! And yes, there is good fondant; Satin Ice tastes like marshmallows.

If any of you ever have dessert questions, I am happy to answer them. :)

You, Pipp, and I should go into the baking biz together. :p I could bake gluten-free/allergy friendly cakes and then have you and Pipp decorate 'em. :D

Meet William Tapley.
He believes he's the third eagle of the apocalypse from Revelation.
Mr. Tapley makes very interesting videos on Youtube, finding prophetic meaning in iPad commercials, and other things.

This is his musical magnum opus, Doom and Gloom.

I was just about to say if anyone wanted to chat I'll be in Singles for a little bit longer, about 20 minutes. Trying to get to sleep earlier. It's not working too great. But I'm trying. haha

I suppose I have a confession, I don't like using people's names on CC, unless they say its okay.

Like I almost feel like its giving people an undo familiarity with people they don't know. When someone calls me by my name, I assume they know me beyond this place. I am disappointed when I discover that they only called me by my name because they heard someone else use it.

So unless I know for a fact that someone is okay with it and prefers it, I won't use it.

We did pick user names and they seem to work okay. :)

I would get on, but then I realized that every time I get on, I stay longer than I intend. I MUST get to bed early tonight, I'm about to pass out in my chair as it is. Besides, I'm so tired that I would only be speaking nonsense, being silly/giggly, or crying, because that's my level of tiredness I'm at right now. Though I guess the chatroom is like that sometimes anyway. :)

But really, I'm going to bed like rightnow.

Yeah, I typically don't use people's names on CC unless they're okay with it. Thankfully no one has used my name simply because they saw someone else use it.

I definitely do prefer peeps use my username or a nickname, specifically in the forums, though I don't mind a whole lot, if any, if they use it in chat. When people that know me and my name and use my name in chat, people who don't know me don't seem to associate me with that name. I think only once someone was like, "Your name's [insert name]?" and they acted really weird...but I never saw them again after that. So yeah lol

I feel so unbelievably bad. Guilt feeling in my throat. It's hard to sleep. And I don't know how to fix it :(

Recently the individual that I support has been yelling bloody murder when getting changed and having to roll from his side to his back. A co-worker thinks it's a new fear that has developed. I think he's on to something. It's like he has developed a fear of falling. That he cannot see the bed behind him so he thinks it's not there and he will fall off the bed.

I think I am the reason to why he has developed it, and I feel SO bad. The individuals at a new day program that I have been taking him to, have these large bean bags on the floor that they can be put on as a way to get them out of their wheelchairs and relieve pressure. And me and him were sampling different things to do, and I figure we could try it. So I put him on it.

But I think that because it was close to the floor, it caused a fear to develop. Perhaps, he fell at one point in his childhood and it rehashed that fear. Now he yells in terror and I have no idea what to do :( :( He has to have personal care. My manager is on holidays, we need some sort of intervention ASAP. It most likely have to be meds, a sedative of some sort. I don't know if any psychological help would be enough :(

yeah, i hate it when people use my name. : )

actually, my thinking has been on the forums, you use user names.

however, in chat (if i know the person) i tend to use their actual name (usually).

but perhaps that's not the right way to go.

I'll probably be there tonight, maybe wed as well. I've been sleeping up until it's time to go into work the past 3 days or so.
