wow. crazy day and it's only 3:35.

in the middle of my craziness, some poor guy calls me to ask me about some warranty coverage on my new phone purchase. i know that a lot of people can get really angry with these folks, so i try to treat them as nice as possible.

this guy seemed unable to catch the hint that i had neither time nor interest in what he was selling. he wasn't overtly rude, but it was (past the) time for the call to end.

so i took the conversation in a new direction.

me: uh, no thanks.

him: well, here's why you want it...

me: well, ok, let's do this: give me your home number and i'll call you later tonight when i have the time to think about it.

him: oh, i can't give out my home number.

me: oh, because you probably don't want people calling you at home, bugging you, right? especially when you're trying to do things that are important to you.

him: exactly!

me: well, neither do i. but thanks for calling, and have a nice day!

i was pretty surprised how easily he walked into that one. : )

hope you guys are having a great monday.

I have a question, is Easter celebrated the same day in each country? I'm just curious.
Easter is celebrated a day earlier in Australia than in the US, but that's not a cultural thing, we just have different timezones.

There have been three series of Sherlock so far, but each series is made up of three movie-length episodes. Dr. Watson has a toothbrush moustache at one point in the series, but he got rid of it (and looked all the better for it!)

Personally, I don't even believe Australia is real place.

i'm sorry, i don't get it... : )

if it's a tv reference, i usually miss them. i'm not much of a tv watcher, and i lack any substantive attention span. : )

but thanks!

Easter Sunday is on the same date worldwide, but the date changes from year to year.

Depends on your definition of "Easter". You have Easter and Passover, not always at the same time (Though they occasionally overlap each other) and technically not the same holiday.
Although Easter and Passover are not the same holiday the two holidays are interrelated thus Passover and Easter being celebrated at the same time. Christ (the Passover Lamb) was crucified during the observance of Passover thus the observance of Easter chasing Passover around the calendar since the Jewish calendar which dictates when Jewish festivals are held is a lunar calendar (based on the lunar cycles) whereas our calendar is based on the solar cycle.

I am getting ready to shower and go to bed...so I can get up 1:30 in the morning to see the lunar eclipse. My good friend is also getting up and we are going to see it together. She lives 9 hours away so we will be calling each other and getting to have a good talk. :) I'm looking forward to that, but not looking forward to waking up and going out in the cold (low of 24). My weather forecast shows it being clear by the time I get up. I'm hoping that's true, I really don't want to get up that early if I can't even see the moon!

An acquaintance (not exactly 'friend') came up and hugged me unexpectedly.
Girl: Whoa, why do you smell so good?
Me: I don't know.. I take showers.
Girl: *still hugging me, awkward silence*

...

Girl: I should try that sometime.
Me: ..I'm gonna go now.
