The next person who makes fun of me for being so girly is going to be on the receiving end of a not-so-girly punch.

...just kidding, I don't want to break a nail.

Really though, I don't get why it's something laughable for a female to be feminine. I have plenty of other much more amusing quirks to make fun of...why this? And why is it only other women who seem to have a problem with it?

Because we're all militant feminists who are threatened and offended by your femininity. Haven't you been reading all those other threads in singles?

On a more serious note, it is probably because modern culture (especially in the West) has become very utilitarian and the more feminine things in life are about adornment and beauty. We have been trained to value usefulness and practicality. So what you see as feminine many others see as frivolous and possibly irresponsible or immature but calling it too girly is so much more acceptable and polite.

All that said we love you just the way you are. Maybe just a deadpan, "well I'm a girl, aren't girls supposed to be girly?" will shut the critics up. Anyway, that seems more you than a serious study and exposition of why beauty and adornment and art matter.

That's a possibility, and a less frightening one too. Thanks. Something to think about. I'm praying for her and I'm also praying that God would help me to respond with love, no matter how unpleasant she may be behaving.
Yeah, i fully have a horrible time looking past peoples attitudes to the reason for behind it. It's a weakness of mine, for sure. But being aware, such as you are doing, of the reasons for their behavior and trying to keep it in mind definitely helps in keeping calm. At least longer haha.

pfffffft. i'm super girly, too, i don't apologize for that.

however, i can still race any guy down the mountain, operate a chainsaw, and seem to regularly end up getting all muddy in my various pursuits and adventures (i do live in a wet state, afterall).

we're allowed to be girly and any other awesomeness that we feel like. don't let anyone ever give you baloney for that.

Stay positive.

Okay.

Yeah, no.

I'm trying to be positive. Why would the clinic have my dad pay for the surgery for Mocha in advance if they were convinced it probably wouldn't happen? I want to say Mocha will be just fine. But I can't. I don't know. I just want Jesus to heal him and bring him back to me. I know no time is a good time to lose something or someone you love... but I know right now is DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD TIME.

Don't use words like feminine. It is way too close to feminist, and we all know what happens when that word gets used.

Early onset Alzheimer's is a very real and diagnosable condition. For the sake of you and your family I pray this is not the issue.
I was thinking it sounded like it too. But Love, there are many different reasons. Stress, and maybe even another illness or hormonal imbalance can cause similar symptoms.

OMG... Gifs are my new love! Expect them. Expect them often.

Do NOT disappoint me.

I will learn the ways of the GIF, some day soon. Because, as Jarod from "The Pretender" liked to remind people, 'Life's a GIF!' ;)

Now I have the strange desire to watch "Tangled" (I've never seen it properly).

Tintin you have to watch Tangled! You and Arlene could have a movie night. It's a cute date movie. :)

I would post a gif, but I'm on my phone. I should be sleeping. Why am I not sleeping?

Please pray for my mom. I'm beginning to think she actually has some mental problems. She just accused our whole family of conspiring against her to make her think she's forgotten things.

Last night she she and I made plans for my brother's birthday, and then today she completely forgot our conversation and claims that I made the whole thing up. Then she said that if she IS indeed so forgetful, then it's still my fault because I should have gone te extra mile to remind her. So somehow, she refuses to believe she forgot stuff, but She's also blaming me for not putting extra effort to remind her of something that she forgot.

its gotten to the point where our whole family is walking on eggshells and living in fear of her next explosion.

I'm so sorry, when my Grandmother started having dementia this is what it was like. Not trying to scare you but it could be what is happening to her. She thought that the people she lived with were conspiring against her. Praying for you.

Moth wing dust is kinda neat...all shimmery and stuff. Smeared across a piece of paper, it looks a bit like eyeshadow.

Moth guts, on the other hand...not neat.

ANYWAY...

I took everything off the walls in here and packed it all up...which was really kind of just throwing it in a couple boxes with a handful of tissue paper and calling it good. I packed most of my clothes last night...and by "packed", I mean I got two huge garbage bags and stuffed them full.

It's annoying to have to pack and label stuff just to move across town. Worth it, but annoying. Where's a Disney style fairy godmother when I need one?

What am I saying? With my luck she'd turn me into a pumpkin.

...which would mean I wouldn't have to pack anymore...! Sweet!

I'm needing to keep the kittens in the extra bedroom in my house during the day while I'm gone, which is great because they're comfy in there and even like to go in there to hang out when they don't have to. The only thing is that I'm still trying to figure out how to get rid of the litter box smell so that it doesn't stink up that room while I'm not there. I'm really self-conscious about the smell of my house. I don't want to have a house that smells bad when people come over to visit, but it's only about 1000 sq. ft. and isn't well-ventilated. Hopefully I can get it figured out eventually.

Do you have a window in that bedroom, or a ceiling fan? Air circulation is the key.

Unfortunately no ceiling fans. There are two windows in the room, but it's pretty hot outside and I don't have central A/C so it would probably get too hot for them. Hmm...I may need to start getting creative about this.

Praying for you and for Mocha.
