Yes, Jesus does not like divorce. He also said not to be unevenly yoked. To top that, you generally don't stay married to someone who cheated on you 5 times and got pregnant with another mans baby a month after you separate. But hey, what do I know?

I was once told by a family member from Kentucky that in the old days this was legal there, if you caught your spouse cheating it was open season on them, on the spot. Not sure if it's fact, but I doubt my Grandparents would fib...

At one time, I think it was the gallows. But that was in the days of the Puritans. Not sure when the death penalty went away.

At one time (think back to the time of the US being British colonies) just about any sexual impropriety was a capital crime.
