I remember hearing on like old-timey tv shows and movies as a kid that "cooking is the fastest way to a man's heart", or something like that. I like to think about that sometimes, like is that true? Does that apply to everyone?

I was thinking that it would be cool to hear others opinions on this, either for themselves or their experiences in relationships with others.

I dont personally believe that cooking would be a good way to my heart, but I guess it couldnt hurt : p I will say, it would be cool to meet someone who actually enjoyed the same kind of foods that I did. Like, no one in my life likes the kind of foods that I do. Like one thing I really want to do is go out for Mexican food. But no one I know is willing to do it. The closest I can get anyone to do is to get microwave burritos, which isnt fun : (
It would be cool to be with someone who actually enjoys the kind of stuff you do : p

As for the fastest way to my heart or whatever, I dont really know : p Im gonna think about that one...
Id like to hear what others think though.
Beer! And more beer!

"Beer. It's what's for dinner."

Or so I've heard. Never could like the stuff myself.

Beer, like many things is an acquired taste. I think most people, just like myself, begin to drink it because "it's cool" or "the adult thing to do" and over time their taste buds adapt.

You'll even get to love the English "Bitter" over Lager after some well spent time on a bar stool.

I have a habit to serve rotten trout (a local treat) with potatobread when I try to impress someone. Somehow it hasn't made all the way to a man's heart. Should I change tactics?

Is that lutefisk? I've heard of it but never did understand the popularity. If I want raw fish I'll eat pickled raw fish, not rotten raw fish.

I can do serious damage to some potato bread though. :D

Not lutefisk... That is made of cod. You basically put cleaned (with bone and skin) trout in a bucket and salt and sugar, and leave it there for a couple of months to a year. Feline usually love it.. but some are observed dead of listeria.

The Norwegian kitchen is crowded with scary dishes. I've encountered lamb sculls, rein deer sculls, Cod tongues and Lutefisk.

reindeer sculls! That is impressive. I have just tasted heart and tongue and normal meat. And did it anyone find your heart with feeding you that?

Yes, well, this Lynx is slightly more discriminating than your average house cat. And substantially less likely to die of listeria. :p

I am the same way. I understand that some people like beer, and good for them. They can have my share of it. I'm often curious as to how people develop the taste for the stuff. I have drank beer in the past, but I was doing it because I felt it necessary to try to fit in with the other males...and I resent being made to feel coerced into behaving in a certain way.

I don't understand why beer is so attractive for people, it's disgusting. Now I was on a date last week and the guy asked if I wanted wine, I'm like, "nah I am more of a Margarita girl" lol. Don't get me wrong, I like wine but would much rather drink a Strawberry Margarita..they are so yummy, not to mention I love strawberries:eek:
