I've always wanted a man taller than me but in all honesty I've dated short and tall. I have no problem looking down on a man :)

I guess this means I am no where near being an 'average woman' I am 5 ft, I wear size 00 (if you meant waist size if you meant shoe size then I am a size 4) My waist is 22 inches.. and I weigh anywhere from 75-80lbs.

I'm pretty sure you are not American and Americans tend to be on the tall side and chubbier than people from the rest of the world. You would probably bit right in in the Asian country I'm in where the men all seem shorter than westerners and all of the girls are teeny tiny.

I don't think height should matter that much, it just depends on how much we are effected by what everyone else thinks, or our perception of it. I've dated taller than me who didn't mind at all, and shorter ones who made something of my height around "friends" compared to them, and I've dated gals the same height who made a big deal about it. Our preference just shows our true selves and how much we let others effect our lives.

Somehow, I think Gypsygirl and I must live in a completely different US, because, most women are far shorter then me. And from what I've seen and know, most average height for women are around 5'4", like Gypsy said. Hmm, I wonder if the average heights differ also in the region of your country.

Well, if you are a lawyer then I would be a prospective client right? That is not how you talk to your clients.

Marketing 101 - Always be nice to your customers. Unless they pay you less and demand much more, then it is okay to shove them out of your office.

I don't recall ever meeting a girl taller than I am, but I know they exist. I would date her though, she knows my struggle of too-short washroom sinks! I think 5'9" is a great height, too much more of that and you realize a lot of inconveniences around.

I spent a year on Match.com, CM, PoF, everything short of the porny dating sites. The trends I saw went like this:

If she was 5'6 or shorter: wanted a man who was 6'0 or taller.
If she was 5'9 or taller: wanted a man who was 6'0 or taller.

Overwhelmingly, the women who selected 'no preference' for height would be 5'7 or 5'8. On rare occasion...and I mean RARE...a "short" or "tall" woman would list 'no preference.' But in general, west Texas and New Mexico women like their men tall.

Emmy, I am still praying for your safe passage to the land of Canucks, hockey, maple syrup, Tim Hortons, and introverts who only like skinny-emo-boys. Now I will be praying that there will be no strong winds whilst you reside there...because if there are, you won't stay in Canada long enough to gain residency. Don't wear baggy clothes; you'll just become a human kite.


I've never had a problem with taller women. I had an ex who was the same height as I, and she'd always wear heels when we'd have a performance (we were in several ensembles together at State) or when we'd attend the symphony or opera. Didn't bother me in the slightest, still doesn't. It's women who typically have the issue with being with a shorter man. Our society's definition of masculine and strong is usually represented through size, and I postulate that taller women, and women in general, subconsiously find men shorter than them unmasculine. I could be wrong; I've been wrong before, and it's bound to happen again. But I think the theory has some merit.

Of course not. I will pay what it costs to defend my rights. I was held guilty and condemned to the shallow line without being given a hearing. That is a gross violation of human rights. I have hired a lawyer who can do a pretty good job.



Look at the picture above and read this in your mind - "Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. I agree with that. It's real easy to get around that particular issue, but the biggest fundamental problem with short men is that in general they are severely insecure about their height.....and it either comes across as they obviously have a complete lack of self confidence over it, or they waaaay overcompensate and just become belligerently cocky/arrogant. I've seen a lot of other guys my size or shorter that blame it all on their height "women are so shallow, bla bla bla".....but it's their personal insecurity issue that's the true saboteur. Only feeds into the initial assumption regarding masculinity for people that have that problem.

What I find interesting is I've even seen dudes that are 5'8 have this problem. lol
